@Fraust

Mori looked up at the woman shyly, nervously gripping the fabric of Tohru's pants leg. He then glanced down at the injured girl, trying to figure out what exactly had happened to her. He had no medical knowledge, of course, but he didn't want to just be standing idly by and doing nothing. "Is there anything I can do to help, miss?" He asked softly.

@Fraust

"Okay!" Mori scampered off in search of bandages, temporarily out of the way of the others. He kept his mask on all the while for his personal comfort, both for anonymity and to mask the smells of the world around him. He managed to locate some bandages and brought them over, holding them up for whomever to take.

Tohru threw his bag down and got to his knees, fumbling for his med kit. His supplies were dwindling with as much as he had to use it, but he wasn't going to deny care because of it.
"Name's Tohru," he murmured, snapping the case open and scanning over the supplies.
He gave a short pause, and asked the dreaded question: "Was she bitten?"

@Fraust

"No problem! Is she gonna be okay?" He asked softly, looking down at the injured girl. Although he had seen his parents die, he didn't remember it, and he'd been traveling alone ever since. He had only seen the aftermath of death; he'd never seen it happen right before his eyes that he remembered.

Tohru's expression fell. That was good, right? But it wasn't easy. Not for him.
"Alright, how'd she land? What else can you tell me so I can help?"
He pulled out some disinfectant, seeing that several people had already grabbed bandages. Then, he grabbed his bedroll and laid it out so they had a place the girl could lie down.

@Luz_Noceda

Luka moved his twin onto the bedroll. Meanwhile, Bean described how Hailey had climbed the tree to see if she could find the outpost originally but she fell and got a really bad gash in her gut. “I-It’s really bad…”

@Fraust

Mori kept close to Tohru, watching the process. He paled when he saw the wound, looking away for a moment to draw in a few deep, wavering breaths. It didn't look good at all, and there really wasn't much he could do. He brought the bandages already, but he couldn't do much more than that. He had no exploitable skills for circumstances like this. He glanced back over, trembling lightly.

Tohru wasn't usually squeamish. Far from it, really. But when he took a closer look at the wound, he suddenly felt sick to his stomach.
"I…" he murmured, shuddering a bit.
He didn't want to tell these kids he couldn't do anything. But that was the truth. Even if she had the medical help that doctors and surgeons could offer, it was possible she wouldn't have made it.
"I… I'm not so sure we can do anything."
Tohru's voice fell to a weak whisper.
"I'm really sorry."
He was pretty sure whatever she had landed on had damaged internal organs as well, and that was way out of his ability to treat.
"I think… I think all we can do is make her as comfortable as possible."

@Becfromthedead group

Tohru bowed his head.
"I know it's hard. Is this your first time losing someone?" he asked.
He reached out to put a hand over Hailey's arm, trying to soothe her in some capacity when he was barely holding it together himself. He'd seen a lot of people die, but never a child.

@Luz_Noceda

Luka cried as he softly hugged his twin. Bean and Lilac tried to hold back tears to stay strong for their siblings but failed as they joined the hug.

@Fraust

Mori watched the siblings, his own eyes stinging with tears. He held one hand over his mouth, feeling sick to his stomach at the thought. This girl was going to die, and none of them could do anything to stop it. He kept close to Tohru, trembling a bit and obviously upset, but keeping quiet so as to not draw attention to himself.

@Luz_Noceda

(me: hugs Mori you should never have to see this-)

“I-I really hoped w-we’d all be together with Mom and Dad…” Hailey managed to get out in between coughs, “Guess I was wrong…”

@Tired-but-passionate

Lyn watched the scene unfold, her limbs beginning to shake. She felt her chest tighten and her eyes beginning to water. She did not want to see another dead body, not again. She simply averted her eyes, letting Josefine put an arm around her. They backed away, knowing it wasn’t their place to be apart of this.
Josefine scowled, unsure of how to feel. She’d barely known these kids for five minutes. Yeah, it was cruel that one of them was dying already, but that just meant she’d been right. Why should they go looking for someone to take care of them when they’re all going to die anyway?
