(Lmao. Um, excuse me ma'am? smacks lips Would you… would you like to take him to the back. You're um, smacks lips again you're disturbing the CUSTOMERS)
//lmaooo
Nathaniel looked up at the other person and tried to stand up, leaning against the wall for support. A few people had gathered around them at this point, and Nathaniel was already lightheaded and anxious.
(Solid description.)
Orion heard a commotion from the other side of the store. He had been searching through the store for anything that he could sit on, considering the cave that he lived in was very unfurnished. He strided over to the other people who were gathered around a table. He would have tried to hide and watch, but it was obvious he couldn’t do so because of his height. He peered down at the boy on the table with a confused expression. “Sorry to interrupt, but why in gods name does that kid have wings?”
"He's an angel, duh," Lilith rolled her eyes. "Not from around here or just oblivious?"
Nathaniel's face went pale. He had forgotten in the moment that him having wings would certainly not be normal. He glanced back at them and his heart skipped a beat when he saw how bent and broken they looked. That was definitely not a good sign.
//"not be normal" well there's a guy who's way too tall to be human and a girl with horns and wings right here so idk normal's pretty much out of the question at this point
Orion peered down at the girl with a cunning smile. “I frequent wooded areas for safety reasons. Not mine, of course,” he said.
(I don't even know anymore lol. From what I know, some of those guys can kinda conceal the fact that they aren't human. Nathaniel just has no idea what he's doing lmao)
"So not from around here," she nodded, unphased. "Move it along, everyone!" She shouted, before gesturing Nathaniel and Charlotte to the back.
"W-where are we going, ma'am?" Nathaniel walked a bit slowly behind the other two people, stumbling over his feet occasionally.
"To the back. This is a store, and having an injured angel in the front is bad for business. Also, you'd probably be more comfortable back here," she said, opening a door to the staff lounge.
"I-I'm sorry for any inconvenience, ma'am. I-I didn't really intend for… w-whatever happened to happen…"
"No, no, it's fine," she muttered. "Here, lie down. I'll get you some water."
Nathaniel nodded and lay down, trying to get the image of his crushed wings out of his mind. He shivered a bit, both from cold and fear.
Orion, being the curious type, followed the group. He felt the need to know more about what was going on. He didn’t run into many other people who were non-human like him. The last person he could remember was killed when Orion couldn’t control his starving Wendigo side. He had a quick memory of ripping apart the screaming man and the taste of his flesh and blood. Orion shook the memory from his mind. “An angel, huh? That’s uncommon.”
"Hmm? W-well, I guess not down here. Being on the ground was… n-not entirely my choice."
Lilith came back, having let her glamour down, so her wings and horns and weird eyes were visible. "Don't be alarmed, here's your water. What are you doing back here?" She asked Orion.
"T-thank you, ma'am." Nathaniel pushed himself into a sitting position, grimacing a bit. he gingerly accepted the water, leaning against the wall behind him.
"Got any family? Somewhere we can take you back to?"
“I just saw a winged boy, you think I’m just going to leave? Man, that’s insane,” Orion said, chuckling to himself, as he peered at Nathaniel. He inhaled slowly, taking in the various scents that filled the room.
"Um, m-my parents are back up in the heavens. My brother… well…" Nathaniel looked away, tears welling up in his eyes.
"Well, I'm not allowed to fly you up there. Gonna get myself killed if I do."
"W-why would you get killed?"
"I'm a demon, see?" She spread her wings and gestured to her eyes that didn't have whites. "Demons don't mix well with angels. Even exiled ones."
Nathaniel looked down. "D-do you think I'll be exiled? I… I-I don't think I c-can fly anymore…" He glanced back at his crushed wings again, the tears falling from his eyes. He tried to brush them away, but they kept coming back.
"You didn't do anything wrong, so probably not. We just need a way to get you back up there," she mused.
//I think I've gtg, might be back later. If you need Lilith you can use her!
(Okay)
"B-but I'm useless now… w-why would they want to keep an angel who can't fly?" Nathaniel hiccuped and hid his face in his hands.
//nvm, I'm back
Lilith looked nervous. "No, no, don't cry." She knelt in front of him. "Angels do more than just fly. I can fly too, but I'm nowhere near an angel."
