(Good… afternoonish… Lol.)
“If you ever need someone to talk to, or if you need to cuddle or something, I’m always here for you. Just text me, and I’ll do my best to help, no matter what time it is,” Kasey whispered.

“If you ever need someone to talk to, or if you need to cuddle or something, I’m always here for you. Just text me, and I’ll do my best to help, no matter what time it is,” Kasey whispered.
(lol)
Barry let go of her hand and hugged her tightly, pressing kisses against the top of her head. "Thank you, Kase… And the same goes from me to you."
Kasey grinned and hugged him back tightly. “I love you…”
“I love you too,” he whispered, giving her a squeeze.
(I love the MachaxTyer RP!!!)
“Are we just going to just fall asleep here?” Kasey giggled slightly. “Because I’m totally okay with that.”
(aw thanks!)
Barry laughed, drawing her closer. "Would your roommate be fine with it?"
"She might not even be here tonight. She's been staying at her boyfriend's more and more lately," Kasey said with a shrug. "I think he's trying to work up the courage to propose soon."
(yass)
Barry smiled, running his fingers through her hair. "Good for her, good for them. I don't think I've met him properly, but he sounds like a good guy."
(I loved his proposal in the RP. It was so sweet.)
Kasey hummed and nodded. "He's a good guy. I trust him with my best friend's heart."
(yeah uwu
I read that like a month ago, I should go back and read it again)
(should we skip or stay? I'm running out of sweet things to say lol)
(Lol. Me too, tbh. Skip to morning?)
(Actually, I might have an idea.)
(yeah sure, do you want to start then?)
(wait you have an idea for skipping or staying?)
(Skipping, but only until around midnightish. I can start, just give me a sec.)
Kasey tossed and turned in her sleep. Normally, the safety of Barry's arms kept the dreams aware. Actually, they were more like nightmares.
When she was actively being a hero, she had to do a lot of questionable things, and those stuck with her through the years. She'd hurt innocent people, killed some not-so-innocent ones. And that burned her heart so much that the dreams never seemed to stay away for very long.
(TRIGGER WARNING: Blood and death.)
Blood. There was so much of it. It was everywhere. On the walls, the floor…
She looked down and saw that it covered her hands as well. And her feet. Her legs. Her shirt. Her arms… She was drenched in the sticky, crimson life-giving liquid.
She gagged and tried to wipe it off, but it didn't work. So she ran. Fast and far. And she cried. Hot and wet tears. Those finally got some of the blood from her face, but it wasn't enough. It was still all over her.
When she could run no more, she sank against a wall, only to have it collapse on her. She fell backwards into a room and landed on something soft.
With a scream, she realized it was a body. A cold, lifeless body. And there were many others in the room.
In the waking world, tears streamed down her face as she cried in her sleep. She let out a soft moan every once in a while, but she was mostly silent.
(awwwwww poor Kasey!!)
Barry awoke with a start, blinking his eyes open groggily. It took a moment, but a realization struck him. Something was horribly wrong.
He didn't have to turn on the light to realize that Kasey was crying, and he was immediately shaking her awake, holding her tightly.
She couldn't wake up… Why couldn't she escape this nightmare?
And then she was being shaken, and her eyes shot open. She gasped and sat up quickly, looking around in fear. Where was she? What was going on?
"Kase– Kasey– you're okay– it was just a dream–" Barry sat up, wrapping his arms around her in a tight hug. "Just breathe, deep breaths, can you do that for me?"
Kasey stared at Barry for a moment, confusion the only thing registering on her face for a moment. Who was he again?
Barry…
Oh, gosh… Ohgoshohgoshohgosh..
She sobbed and clung to him, burying her face in his shoulder. She couldn't get the images out of her mind…
Barry rocked her back and forth, hugging her fiercely and whispering soft words into her ear. “It’s going to be okay, I’m right here, just breathe, let it all out—“
"I can't– They won't– They're in my head!" Kasey cried, her grip on Barry tightening. She was speaking, of course, about the images from her dream. She couldn't get them out of her head, and it made her want to throw up for real this time.
“Kasey, look at me,” he commanded gently. “Focus on my voice, and my voice only. I’m going to countdown from ten, okay? Ten, nine, eight…”
Kasey forces herself to look into his eyes, where she got lost as he counted down. Her breathing slowed, and she visibly relaxed at the sound of his voice. How could he manage to calm her so easily?
He took hold of her shoulders, careful to keep his breathing calm even though his heart was running wild with worry. “Better now?”
Kasey nodded slowly. She couldn't tear her eyes from his, she was too worried that the images from her dream would come back.
"A bit… Thank you," she breathed.
“There we go,” he whispered, keeping eye contact with her. “Just keep your breaths even… Do you think you can tell me what happened? What do you need from me right now, space or comfort?”
"I just… I think…" Kasey bit her lip and pulled away, quickly running to the bathroom. After a few seconds, the sound of retching could be heard coming from inside.
Barry jumped off the bed and ran into the bathroom, quickly pulling her hair out of her face so that she wouldn’t throw up on it.
Kasey was shaking as she threw up into the toilet. She had barely even noticed Barry come in and move her hair.
A few minutes later, all she had left were dry heaves, but she couldn't stop. The image of all that blood was burned into her mind.
