(Hm… I was thinking before that. Just the two of them. Something cute and romantic. Lol. But that's up to you.)
(Yeah sure, what exactly did you have in mind?)
(Just, like, a cute, romantic dinner and then maybe a walk?)
(Sure!)
(Should I start, then?
And it would be, like, a few days later.)
Yeah sure)
(Oh, geez… Sorry, I typed my response and it got deleted… One sec…)
Kasey double-checked her makeup in the mirror while she waited for Barry to come get her. She'd put on her pink lip gloss again, as well as a bit of mascara to make her eyes pop. She wasn't usually one to wear a ton or makeup, so this was about as much as she would usually wear.
She had finally decided to wear a black dress that was tighter on the bodice and flared out from the waist down. It reached just above her knees, and it would flare out if she spun.
Barry straightened the collar of his crisp white button-up shirt. He ran his fingers through his hair nervously, telling himself to snap out of it before knocking three times on her door.
Kasey grinned when she heard the door. Of course she was nervous, but she was more excited, so it wasn't really getting to her.
"Hi, Barry. You look great," she said as she opened the door.
“You— you too.” And she definitely did. He chuckled lightly. “How do you always manage to make me nervous for a date?”
Kasey giggled a bit and chewed on her lip as she shrugged. "I dunno, babe… But I'm nervous, too, so don't worry."
He put a hand on her shoulder, tugged her closer, placed a light kiss on her lips. “Well, that’s encouraging. Shall we?”
"We shall," Kasey chuckled with a grin. She kissed him back quickly before grabbing her purse and closing the door behind herself.
“Make sure you keep track of those keys,” Barry teased her as he lead her down to his car. “Right?”
Kasey laughed lightly and held onto them tightly. "Yeah, yeah… At least one good thing came out of my losing them. I got to meet my amazing boyfriend."
Barry flushed lightly, pulling her close against his side. “That sounds like a definite plus to me..”
"It definitely is," Kasey agreed softly, leaning against him with a smile.
“My car or yours?” Barry asked with a smile as they approached the parking lot. “Are you planning on drinking anything? I can be the, uh, ‘designated driver’, so to speak.”
Kasey chuckled and shook her head. "No, I'm not going to drink. I have a very low alcohol tolerance, so I'd probably get drunk from a glass of wine, and I would like to stay sober around you. I'm assuming you're not planning on drinking either, then?"
Barry nodded, an unidentifiable emotion shifting beneath his expression. “I don’t.. I’m not actually sure how I managed to get drunk at that party without getting upset. I don’t… alcohol… never mind.”
Kasey glanced over at Barry and gently squeezed his hand. "Hey, it's okay. Whatever it is, you don't have to explain it to me if you don't want to."
Barry shook himself, a relaxed expression coming forth onto his face. “It’s fine. Where were we going for dinner, again?”
"I thought you had that planned out, babe," Kasey chuckled. "Does that mean we have no idea where we're going?"
Barry blinked, and burst out laughing. “Oops. Uhh….. there’s a wood oven pizza place?”
"I feel a little overdressed for pizza," Kasey chuckled, glancing down at her dress. "There's a nice restaurant a few miles away. We could go there."
“Sure,” he replied easily. “What does t serve?”
"Hm… They have steak, salads, soups… I sure there's more, but I can't think of it," Kasey said with a shrug.
“Sounds good.” He opened the door of his car for her, grinning. “After you.”
