Sprawled out on the threadbare couch that rested in the center of the living room, Florence let her torso hang over the cushions. She looked down at the floor, staring at the ends of her rusty red hair. For months now, she had been waiting for one specific piece of mail– the letter that would tell her whether or not she had been accepted into the school she had applied to. Soon she heard the growl of the mail truck, and quickly rolled off of the couch and onto her feet. Sure enough, there was a short old man outside stuffing white envelopes into a mailbox with the name Ellis on the side of it, in bright blue paint.
Almost as soon as the man had backed away from the box, Florence sprinted towards it. Her feet burned as she ran across the pavement of the driveway, but this was currently the least of her concerns. She dug through the cloud of papers. In the very back was another white envelope, made out of much nicer paper than the rest of the letters. On the front of the white material was a decorative red wax stamp. "It's finally here…" Florence mumbled, repeating herself in a much louder voice. Shutting up the mailbox, she ran back towards the door, only this time there were shiny spikes of dirt covered iron that were left in the grass behind her.
Busting through the door, Florence slammed it behind of herself and waved the unopened letter around in the air. "It's here!" She announced, watching as a woman just as tall as her with braided brown hair came jogging into the living room from the kitchen; this woman was her mother. Once Ms.Ellis had made her way over to Florence, the girl ripped open the letter and scanned over it. The only part she cared about was at the beginning,
Dear Ms.Ellis, we are happy to inform you that you have been accepted into the Magic program of…
Name: Luciana Haven
Species/Magic: Mage
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Powers (try around 3 if you're being specific, and one if you're talking generally): Mystiokinesis- here’s the thing, mystiokinesis is a very broad, vague, and can be (I just Googled it and apparently it’s a lot more OP than I though) is an OP power. Here’s the thing, Luciana is a character that I’m working on. I’m genuinely trying to figure out what I mean by mystiokinesis and the limits to it, so if there are any suggestions or criticisms, I’ll take it.
Personality: Moody, sarcastic, loyal, faithful, ambiverted, procrastinator, perfectionist, caring, she’s basically the one friend who’s kinda ‘mean’, but she loves everyone, gets angry too easily, cries too easily, gets hurt too easily, realllly gullible, wears her heart on her sleeve.
Appearance: On the right side, her hair is purple and her eye is green, on her left side, her hair is green and her eye is purple. Her hair is dyed and she’s probably wearing lenses. Her skin is slightly tanned. 5’6”. She sometimes wears boots, other days she wears converse. She wears dresses in shades of red, purple, and blue.
Likes: Tea, potted plants, marbles, pendulums, and charms.
Dislikes: Bad omens, judgements, and long speeches.
Other: Likes to stargaze.
Special Markings/etc?: I mean other than her crazy hair and eyes not really.
(LOVE HER
Vita floated around his forest, waiting for the mail ghost to come and deliver a letter, a very important letter. He heard the sound of wheels on stone and turned around, he was right! It was the mail, and mail meant that his letter was here. Vita smiled and rushed over to the mailman. "Here ya go Vita." The man said cheerfully, handing Vita a letter and walking off. "It's here!" Vita squealed happily, tearing it open.
(LOVE HER
(Thank you. QuQ)
Darya rose out of the water, little rivulets of the salty sea running off her arms and legs. She had been swimming all day, but now she was forced to go home, since the sharks came out at night. When she got home, there was a strange parcel on her doorstep, tied up with twine and stamped with wax. Her name was written on the front, bold and curly. She opened it carefully, since she never got mail, she treated it like a precious little thing.
Dear Darya M., you have been accepted to the (Magic school name??idk)
Vita was super excited, only this year they let dead people join the academy and he was one of the first. "Okay! I already have everything I need, I just need to tell the plants to behave themselves and I'll be set!"
Luciana had been staring at her succulent for at least half an hour at her when she finally decided to get up and check her mail. There were three, two ads and one with her name on it. Luciana looked at it curiously as she brought it back to her desk. She slowly opened the letter.
(So how exactly are they going to get to the school?)
(inside the letters are instrucutions to the nearest portal there. think of it as a convenient rip in time and space
(Oh, okay, thanks for telling me!)
After the two had read the letter, Florence's mother hugged her and smiled widely. "Be good while you're over there." The woman said, watching as Florence bounded off to her room. Once she was in the doorway, the red haired girl spotted her suitcase and grabbed the handle, pulling it along behind her. Inside of it were clothes, school supplies, and her laptop among other toiletries. Saying goodbye to her mother, Florence shut the front door to the white house and began walking down the street on the sidewalk.
"Okay, now where was it again…?" Florence mumbled, pulling the letter from the back pocket of her jeans. In neat handwriting was the directions, Left of your driveway, in the woods behind of the abandon house. Letting out a puff of air, she started off towards the specified area.
Once she had walked a bit down the street, Florence gazed at a big, empty house. The paint was peeling and the second floor's windows were shattered. Making her way through the back yard of the house, Florence created stepping stones for herself out of the iron in the soil. It would really suck if I were bitten by a snake. She thought, smiling as she saw a large swirling pool of purple and blue liquid. Hopping down from her footholds, Florence landed on the forest floor, which was covered in dead pine needles. She stared down into the pool. "This must be it." She said, sticking a hand through first. Though it appeared to be liquid, there was absolutely nothing wet about the pool.
Finally, she plunged into the portal with her suitcase in hand. She hoped she wouldn't fall from too far up.
Vita floated through the magic pool in his backyard, arriving in front of a majestic manor with huge gates. He floated through the gates, his mouth open in wonderment.
Landing on the ground with a thud, Florence clutched the handle of the suitcase. "I expected the fall to be worse," She said, standing up and dusting her self off. Although the fall hadn't been much, she had still managed to bite her tongue with her sharp back most teeth. These were something that often intimidated people, but Florence had learned to accept it. After all, she hadn't gotten the trait from any of her family members, so where in the world did it come from?
Vita heard a thud, he turned to the source of the noise and saw a girl. "Hello!" He said cheerily, floating over to her.
(What
What if Luciana just went with a suitcase full of dirt and seeds.)
Blowing stray hairs from the sides of her bangs from her face, Florence looked up and in front of herself. As she did so, she noticed a green haired boy that couldn't have been much older than her. "Oh…Hey!" She said, trying to sound optimistic through the pain that had finally manifested itself in her mouth. It could've been worse. She thought, feeling her tongue. There was an obvious cut, but other than the pain, she wasn't concerned. With the razors she had for teeth, injuries were common.
(Sounds like a foolproof plan. I see no flaws in it XD)
