“Uh, depends on what you like. There’s always pad Thai, which is basically stir fried noodles, or you can get a bowl of stir fried rice. Do you like curry?”
“Uh, depends on what you like. There’s always pad Thai, which is basically stir fried noodles, or you can get a bowl of stir fried rice. Do you like curry?”
"I don't really know, Bare," Kasey laughed. "Maybe you should just order something for me."
Barry chuckled. “Sure. Do you like seafood or do you prefer meat?”
Kasey shrugged, resisting the urge to crinkle her nose. "I prefer meat, but seafood isn't bad… Some of it…"
Barry laughed lightly. “How would you feel about sharing a bowl of stir fried rice and duck? There are peas in it too, if you don’t mind.”
"That sounds really good," Kasey said, smiling up at him. "Peas are fine with me."
“Great.” They ordered their food, and Barry slid his arm around her side and pulled her close.
Kasey smiled and leaned against him. "So… How many tattoos do you have?"
Barry thought for a moment. “A lot. Uh… twenty-seven? Twenty-six? I hide most of them under clothes, only a few are on my arms.”
"And then there's the heart that always tells me what you're thinking," Kasey teased.
Both Barry and the heart went red. “That— that too.”, he stammered.
"It's cute. I like it," Kasey laughed lightly, kissing his cheek again.
His blush deepened, a ridiculous smile spreading across his face. “You’ve only seen three of them, I think. The heart, the skylark, and— and the crow.”
"That sounds about right. How many of your tattoos are birds?" Kasey wondered.
“A good amount. Skylarks and crowd are my favourites, though.”
"Hm… What do you think your next one would be?"
Barry shrugged loosely. “What’s your favourite kind of bird?”
"Um… A peacock. Why…?" Kasey wondered, though she could probably guess the answer.
“I’ll get one of those then. A tattoo. Not a real one.”
Kasey giggled and looked down, biting her lip.
"Okay. Cool… Would you give me another if I wanted one?"
Barry’s heart tattoo flashed pink. “S-sure, what would you want? And where?”
"Probably just on my arm this time. And… Well… What's your favorite bird?" Kasey asked softly, blushing as she looked up at him.
Barry’s eyes immediately went to the table. “I like crows.”, was all he said, before shaking himself out of his stupor. “And peacocks, now that you said it.”
Kasey watched him silently before nodding.
"Okay… Maybe I'll just get a peacock, then. We could match," she said with a light laugh, avoiding the crow topic because of the way he'd acted.
Barry laughed, thankful for the change of topic. “Yeah. That’d be nice.” The waiter came back with their food.
Kasey thanked the waiter with a polite smile before looking down at the food. She leaned slightly closer to it and half closed her eyes as she smelled it.
"Mm… I bet this tastes as good as it smells…" she hummed.
(Sorry, I was watching a show with my family.)
(lol it's np)
Barry chuckled, picking up his fork. "Bon Appetite."
Kasey giggled and followed suite, picking up her own fork. She took a bite and smiled at the taste.
“You like?”, Barry asked, taking a bite of it.
"Mmhm! It's very good," Kasey said, covering her mouth with a hand as she spoke around her food.
