Kasey looked up at Barry, smiling softly. "Thank you," she whispered before kissing him softly. "And you are so incredibly handsome that I can't even begin to describe how good-looking you are."
Kasey looked up at Barry, smiling softly. "Thank you," she whispered before kissing him softly. "And you are so incredibly handsome that I can't even begin to describe how good-looking you are."
Barry's face heated up, but his eyes were shining. "You're exaggerating.", he mumbled, tangling his fingers in her hair. God, he loved doing this.
"I'm not," Kasey promised softly, reaching a hand up to cup his cheek as she glanced over his features slowly. "I could easily get lost in your eyes. Anytime, anywhere. I think your stubble makes you look more mature than most of the guys I know. And I don't care how chapped your lips are, I still can't get over the feeling of having them on mine…"
(awwwww)
Barry's heart thumped painfully as he leaned into her touch. "I didn't think– I didn't think anyone felt that way about me.", he murmured, incredibly touched by her words. I think I'm dreaming…
(XD I think that was probably the cutest thing I've ever written, tbh…)
Kasey gave him a soft smile. "Well, there is someone, and that someone is really glad you asked her out on that date. And gave her the tattoo. And kissed her."
(uwu)
Barry blushed bashfully. "I'm glad I did all of the above as well." Overcome by a strong sense of basorexia, he leaned in again for a soft kiss. "And I'm glad that you didn't react badly."
(I kind of want Kenzie to walk in on them…)
"I don't think I could," Kasey whispered, giving him a gentle kiss in return. "I'm just glad I finally realized how much I like you…"
(XD that would be hilarious)
Barry flushed again. "I'm glad too.", he said quietly, the reality of everything choosing that moment to crash into him. He just kissed Kasey. Multiple times. She was in his lap, She liked him. This was too good to be true.
(Mwahaha… 😜 Soon…)
Kasey gave him a soft smile. "So… Now what?" she asked quietly, her gaze flicking across his face before landing one his eyes.
Gosh, I really could get so lost in his eyes…
(loll)
Barry's breath hitched slightly. "Now.. we go on a date tomorrow… and then another one… and then another one.. If that's what you want, that is."
"Yeah… I'd like that. A lot," Kasey breathed, still caught in his eyes.
The front door suddenly slammed open, and a maroon-haired girl stepped inside. "Kase?" she called before her eyes landed on the pair on the bed and she started backing out again. "Sorry, sorry… I'll, um, I'm just gonna…"
Kasey's head had snapped towards her roommate as soon as the door was opened, and she turned redder than she had the whole time she and Barry had been sitting there. She groaned and buried her face in her hands.
Barry went beet red. Crap. "Uh- hi– um– I'm Barry– uh–" DammitdammitdammitwhatdoIdo??? "Nice to, um, meet you."
"Nicetomeetyoutoo. I'm just gonna go, now. Bye, Kase," Kenzie said quickly, stepping back out of the room and closing the door behind her.
"I'm so sorry," Kasey whispered, her voice muffled by her hands.
Barry shook his head, still stunned and more than a little embarrassed to have been caught by Kasey's roommate with Kasey in his lap. "It- It's fine, you don't have to worry about it." He gently pried her hands away from her face. "Besides, she'll have to get used to me anyways."
Kasey gave him half of a smile and took his hands, intertwining their fingers. "I suppose that's true… I wasn't expecting her to come home yet."
"Me neither.", he laughed somewhat shakily. "What time is it? I probably shouldn't keep her from your room, as much as I want to stay a little longer.."
"Um…" Kasey chewed on her lip as she moved off of his lap and grabbed her laptop. She rubbed the mousepad to bring the screen to life, cringing slightly as she checked the time. "It's almost nine-thirty."
"I should probably go then. See you tomorrow?" He swung his legs off the bed, turning to face her.
"Of course," Kasey said softly with a small smile. "Have a good night, Bare."
"You too." He leaned down to give her a careful kiss and was out the door, heart pounding.
As soon as Barry left the room, Kasey fell back on her bed and stared up at the ceiling with a giddy smile. She giggled to herself a bit, biting her lip as she remembered their kiss… Kisses, actually…
The door opened again, quietly this time, and McKenzie walked over to her roommate with a wide grin.
"That was one of the guys who're across the hall from us, right?" she asked, sitting on Kasey's bed and looking down at her.
"Yeah, it was," Kasey replied with a happy sigh, barely paying Kenzie any attention.
"The one you've liked for a while, then, I assume?"
"How d'you figure that?"
"Well, you were kind of on his lap… And your lips and cheeks are redder than usual…" Kenzie teased, her eyes sparkling with laughter.
"Shuddup… Whatever happened to that boyfriend of yours, anyway?" Kasey asked, sitting up to look at her.
Kenzie shrugged and looked down. "It didn't work out," she said softly.
(wait Hunter???)
Barry knocked on his dorm room door. After a few seconds, Caleb opened it with a grin. "How did it go?"
"How did what go?" Barry feigned ignorance. Caleb rolled his eyes.
"Don't try to fool me, the last thing you said to me hours ago before disappearing was 'wish me luck', and now you're back with a still-red face. Did she kiss you?"
"Caleb!"
"I'm serious! She did, didn't she?"
Barry groaned, pushing past Caleb and into their room.
"You're avoiding the question..", he sang teasingly.
(…maybe…)
"What? What happened?" Kasey gasped, blinking in confusion. "You guys were so happy together…"
Kenzie shrugged and looked down at her hands as she fiddled with the hem of her shirt. "We just… decided that we weren't right for each other."
"Bullcrap. You two were perfect for each other," Kasey declared, shaking her head slowly.
(wHAT)
Barry huffed though his cheeks were still the same shade of red as before. Caleb's grin only grew.
"Ha! I knew it!"
"I didn't even say anything–"
"That's exactly how I know. Did you make the first move?"
(I never said 'yes'.
.
.
.
But I never said 'no' either…)
"Apparently not perfect enough," Kenzie murmured. She stood abruptly and made her way over to the fridge, opening it wide and staring into it before she found what she was looking for. Grabbing the tub of triple-chocolate ice cream and a spoon, she dug into the frozen treat and sat back down beside Kasey. "I'm going to drown in this stuff…"
"Kenzie… What happened?" Kasey asked softly.
(Cliff-hanger~!)
(noooooo)
Barry flopped down on his bed, caving in. "Yes."
"So you kissed her???????? Dude that's amazing I'm so happy for you!"
"I didn't even say yes yet.", Barry grumbled, but it was half-hearted, as a grin was spreading across his face.
"Are you two dating now??"
"I– I guess?"
Kenzie took a deep breath and stuck the spoon in the ice cream, then set the tub on the floor beside the bed. She pulled her legs up onto the bed, crossing them as she stared down at her lap.
"I don't know what happened, exactly," she started softly. "I was just walking down the hall after one of my classes today when I saw him leaning on a locker, a different girl pinned against it. Do you know whose locker that was? Mine. He had a girl pinned against my locker, Kase… I ran before I could do something stupid, and I haven't talked to him since."
"Kenzie… I know you probably don't want to hear this right now, but it might have just been a misunderstanding," Kasey said softly. She wrapped her arms around her friend, who leaned into her and buried her face in Kasey's shoulder.
(oh no!!)
Barry grabbed a chocolate bar from the cupboard and began munching on it. He sat down in front of Caleb.
"I need girl advice. Literally anything. Help me. Please."
(Is this torture? ;P)
"Yeah, right," Kenzie scoffed, her voice muffled be Kasey's shirt.
"Well… Did you see them kissing?" Kasey asked.
"No…"
"Hugging?"
"…No."
"Was he doing anything that could be considered cheating on you, other than having her pinned against the locker?"
"I mean… I guess not…" Kenzie murmured, pulling back to look down at her lap again.
(definitely AgH)
Caleb grinned like the Cheshire Cat. "Alright. Ever girl is different, keep that in mind." Barry nodded.
"Don't change around her, be genuine and honest. Don't try to hide your feelings. She'll probably think it's adorable if you're flustered. Don't over-do it on the dates, so don't go out like, every day. She'd probably melt if you got her flowers. Valentine's Day is important. Go slowly."
