Cameron frowned in thought. “Sleep?”
Cameron frowned in thought. “Sleep?”
“Cam!” Lilah laughed. “Can’t you stay awake for a few minutes?”
Cameron laughed and pulled her close. “Not when we’re snuggling!”
“But the pizza’s going to be here soon!” Lilah argued, kissing his cheek.
“You can just wake me up!” He smiled.
“But I like it when you’re awake,” Lilah said, pouting playfully.
Cameron huffed as playfully as she was. “Why not you sleep too?”
“Because I like being awake sometimes! And I like being awake with you! Because you’re my husband and I want to spend time with you doing something other than sleeping!” Lilah declared.
Cameron looked taken aback at her speech. “Really? Well, I’m honored.” He laughed gently and kissed her.
Lilah rolled her eyes and sighed a bit against his lips before kissing him back gently. “You should be honored. I wouldn’t marry just anyone, you know.”
Cameron chuckled and booped her nose. “Instead you married the bum that didn’t bow to you.”
“You were very intriguing when I first met you,” Lilah giggled from the boop. “And then I learned more about you and I came to love you more and more. And I’m still loving you more with each passing day.”
Cameron giggled with her, hugging her close. “I was so grumpy that day. It’s a miracle you chose me. But I’m happy you did.”
“I’m happy I did, too. I met my future husband and love of my life that day,” Lilah sighed softly.
(Oh, hey! You wanna hear about what happened today?)
(Oh yes!)
Cameron put on his dorky smile. “You seemed very sure of yourself. So confident and determined.”
(So this morning, we heard a really loud boom and our house literally shook… And then I was talking to my friend, and she told me that a meth house exploded about a half a mile away from us… We felt it a half a mile away!)
“Trust me, it was an act,” Lilah chuckled. “I was so nervous and scared that I would mess up…”
(Oh great. A meth house… why?
How? Who?)
Cameron laughed. “I didn’t notice. You’re a wonderful actress.”
(I live in the cities. There are drugs and drinking and all that wonderful crap around here.)
“Only when I need to be,” Lilah said with a smile.
(Oh gotcha. You’d better be careful in the city. I live near one of the most dangerous cities in my state.)
Cameron smiled back. “Hopefully not around me?”
(I live in and next to both of mine. Minneapolis is worse, especially downtown.)
“No, not around you,” Lilah chuckled, kissing his cheek.
(Oh noooooo. Hooooooo)
Cameron smiled happily and returned the kiss. “You had me worried there.”
(Lol. It’s fine where I am. As long as you don’t go out alone at night. Then it’s freaky and you’re hopefully carrying a pocket knife or pepper spray.)
“Do you really think I act around you? I don’t think I could if I wanted to,” Lilah admitted, smiling up at him.
(Freaky. You can describe it like that.)
Cameron giggled and held her close. “Really? That’s good to hear.”
(Lol. What?)
“Mmhm,” Lilah hummed, nuzzling his cheek. She jumped suddenly at a knock on the door and sighed. “That’s the pizza…”
(Freaky)
Cameron jumped at the knock too, laughing gently. “I’ll get it.”
(Yup. I got that part. I meant the second part.
I’m probably having a really blonde moment here…)
“M’kay. Go quickly, then. We wouldn’t want cold pizza,” Lilah teased.
(Lol, nevermind.)
“Mhm. Cold pizza.” Cameron stood, trotted over to the door and opened it.
(…Kay…)
“One pepperoni and sausage pizza,” the girl at the door chirped, holding it out. “Enjoy!”
Cameron took the pizza with a grin. “Thanks!”
The girl nodded politely. “Is there is anything else you need?”
