They had allready joined the guild correct?//
(Yes, but they can be new)
Hollyn was having a pretty shitty day. There were no jobs, the bar was closed, and her only friend was out of town. She groaned, banging her head on a table and willing the gods to send jobs down to her so she could finally do something. At this point, she was seriously considering ripping her own hair out for entertainment.
The guild was practically empty, only a few people milling around in the hopes that Annie- the bartender- would finally get the shipment of booze they'd been waiting for.
Hunter was sitting by one of the tables, reading an interesting book he had found at the library. He closed his book, having finished it, and observed his guildmates, well the ones who were her anyways. He saw a women banging her head against the table. what was her name? Was it Hollyn? He couldn't remember, he had only interacted with her a few times.
Hollyn straightened up in her seat after a few seconds. She was being dumb. This was immature and she needed to pull herself together. She looked around the guild, hoping to see someone interesting only to notice a man staring at her. She glared at him, growling "What are you looking at?" in her darkest tone.
"You." He stated, tilting his head. "You bored too?" He asks, sliding his book back into his bag. Hunter noticed that crow had landed on his shoulder and rubbed him under the chin.
Hollyn raised an eyebrow, already making her choice. Anything was better than sitting in this dumb empty guild waiting for a drink. "Excessively. Do you know anything that will entertain us?"
"Not really, I'm also very, very bored." He answered honestly. "I'm Hunter, I don't believe I remember your name." He said, adjusting his glasses which had slid down back up to the bridge his nose.
"Hollyn," she stated. She remembered Hunter from the few times she'd seen him, sitting around the guild reading books. She pushed herself up off the table. If she stayed here for one more minute, she was going to die. Not to be melodramatic or anything. "I'm new."
Pollux walked back into the guild after working a few odd jobs for townsfolk. He was ready to spend the remainder of the day resting. After all, there weren't a lot of real jobs available at the moment. He saw Hollyn and Hunter sitting at the bar and approached quietly, just to ask what they were up to. The bar was closed, wasn't it?
"I am also fairly new, I have only been here for…" He thought for a moment. "Six months." He finally said, swinging his messenger bag over his shoulder where Crow was not sitting and standing up.
Hollyn looked up sharply as Pollux approached, wondering why he had returned to the guild hall. If she had anywhere to go that wasn't here, she never would've come back. She still wanted to leave and never return and she didn't even have anywhere to go. "Hello, Pollux. Why are you here?" She asked, no trace of emotion in her tone.
"I um… I go here?" he said, kind of taken aback, "I finished up any work I had to do today, so I just came to see what else was happening around here."
Hollyn frowned. "Nothing's happening." She gestured lazily to the empty job board, only to have Annie put up a new job with a smile and a wink in her direction. "Never mind."
"Ah, yes. A single job," Pollux replied, leaning on the bar's counter, "I wonder what it is. I take it you want to go check it out?"
Hollyn nodded, jumping up from the counter and approaching the board with a spring in her step. The board held one 3 person job. A nobleman needed three skilled wizards to perform at his mother's birthday party. It wasn't the kind of job she'd normally go for, but it was the only one she had. She showed it to Pollux and Hunter, with a quiet "Are you interested?"
(Hey, I'm going to re-open this thread because people aren't on. that okay?)
(That's fine with me)
Pollux shrugged. "Sure. I mean, I'm skilled, but am I fun to watch? Still, money is money."
He read over the job description a little more.
"Well, we're three wizards. I don't see why not."
"Good." Hollyn ripped the job off the board before anyone else could grab it and smacked it onto the counter. "We're going, Annie. Thank you."
Annie nodded, grabbing a rag to clean the bar.
Hollyn walked outside, expecting the others to follow her. How were they going to get to this guy's house? Maybe she could go find someone with a spare carriage? Maybe she could use horses?
"Sure, theres nothing better to do." Hunter says, observing the board. "Its a good amount of money." He notes, frowning slightly. Thats a lot of money for a prefoming job.
Sorry I'm on my phone right now//
(it's fine. I have to go for a little, brb)
Bye//
Pollux walked after Hollyn and stood by her, arms crossed. "So… where is it, and how are we going to get there? We probably should've figured that out before accepting."
(See you later!)
(Back!)
"There's a horse rental 2 streets down," Hollyn said, hoping she was remembering correctly. "It should not be too expensive to ride to the manor and then ride back again."
(Dang it. I missed it. Where is everyone?)
"Sounds about right, lets go." He said, his bag moving as he walked. E was usually a bit more cautious when it came to things like this, but he was bored and… Nothing else, just bored.
Bump//
"Let's go." Hollyn led them over to the horse stable and quickly picked out one for herself. A grey mare with a flowing mane and, according to the stable manager, a winning personality.
