The woman looked at him. “Yes, I do. He’s one of my favorite authors.” She gave Matt a polite smile. “Have you read anything written by him?”
The woman looked at him. “Yes, I do. He’s one of my favorite authors.” She gave Matt a polite smile. “Have you read anything written by him?”
Matt laughs awkwardly. "No, not really. But I have heard of that book" He says gesturing to the book in her hand "It was recommended to me. Something about going back in time where the traveler tries to prevent the assassination of some sort."
She smiled a little more warmly. “A time traveler travels back to this date to try and stop the assassination of JFK. It’s highly political. That’s why I like it.”
Matt nods. "It sounds rather intriguing, I was going to pick it up but I just didn't have the time. I had to come here." Matt stays quiet for a bit, he liked the woman, she was nice and he thought it would be great to be friends with her- if she wanted.
The woman hummed. “I can lend it to you. I have a lot of copies of this novel at home.” She shut it. “You just have to be careful with the bindings.”
Matt looks at the worn down book. He gulps and nods. Well, that was going to be a struggle. He was pretty organized and didn't have trouble keeping track of things, but when it came to taking care of something, he was a complete mess. "Y-yea, I would like that a lot and no problem I'll try to keep it in top shape- I mean, well at least try not to tear it apart," He said half-jokingly.
The woman gave a tinkly giggle and handed him the book. “Look, you can keep it if you don’t ever see me again. There’s a very low chance you’ll see me again, soo…”
Matt gives her a charming half-smile that he learned from his brother. "Thanks, but if I do see you again I'll make sure to hand it back to you…I mean I sure hope we will," He said muttering under his breath at the end there.
The woman blushed a little and looked away. “No, you can keep it. I don’t mind.” She curled her hands together. Stop it! You can’t fall for anyone!
Matt laughs warmly. "I appreciate it, thanks. This'll be the first book I've ever read-" He freezes, realizing what he just said. Did he just really admit that? What was she going to think of him now? That he's an idiot who has never even read a book in his life? What kind of mandork even admits that? He turns a deep red. "I meeaann, hey! There's a first thing for everything am I right?" He laughs nervously while crying on the inside from embarrassment.
The woman tilted her head. “Is it really?” Her voice was soft. “Indeed, there is a thing for everything. I think you’ll enjoy Stephen King very much.” She smiled warmly at him, unaware at the war of embarrassment being fought in his head.
Matt smiles. "I'm sure I'll like it too." He looks up at her. "So where are you heading to? You seemed pretty desperate to get on, some important errands to run?" He asked in a calm voice this time, instead of his usual outburst of excitement.
The woman sighed. “Yes, I have shopping to do in Part 4, which is going to be disastrous to get into. God… can’t even board a train, what makes me think I’m going to be able to pass a border?”
Matt seemed a bit confused at the end there. "Pass the border? Wait, what does that mean? Do they not let you out of a certain district?"
(Heya, I gotta go because well it's gettin' pretty late over here. I'll see if I can get on tomorrow, if not then Tuesday or Wednesday for sure)
(Okay!)
“They won’t let certain people enter.” The woman looked at him. “Didn’t you know that? Lower class citizens can’t cross anymore. Only Middle and High can. Mainly because it’s the shopping Segrement…”
(Also I’m going to start calling the five portions of America ‘Segrements’.)
(alrighty cool then, cya then- ah alright yea cause I was just gonna keep calling them districts lol)
(See you! Also why I changed it is because I didn’t want this to be too much like The Hunger Games so.)
(Yea lmao and heya I've returned from the gruesome amount of homework I've been wrestling with over the few days haha)
(Oooof)
(ikr, so how've ya been?)
(I’ve been alright. How’ve you been?)
(Cool, Cool and I've been pretty chill. I also see you kinda changed your name there)
(Yeah I thought it was getting annoying to some people.)
(awwww I really liked it though lol, it was unique~)
(It was so long tho… I can change it back if enough people care but)
(ah, well, whatever makes you comfortable dude then it's all good)
(eh. I'm just not feeling like myself rn. I'll probably change it back eventually. Anyway, whose turn is it?)
(ahhh I'm sorry about that, and I believe it was mine but if you're not feeling well then maybe we could postpone it? Until you feel better? If you want that is)
(Because I'd be totally chill with that too)
