It has been two days. Whether Lilah stayed was up to her. Cameon’s watchful and careful doctor kept him under an eye, only to release him those two days later.
Lilah had gone home for the nights he was there, but she came back as soon as she could. On the day they released Cameron, she was sitting in the chair next to him.
Cameron rubbed his eyes, yawning. He wasn’t nearly as dazed anymore, nor was he as forgetful, which had shown from the previous two days he was at the hosptial.
“So,” he started as he pulled his hands away from his face, “what would you like to do now, Lilah?”
"Well… Don't you think you should go home?" Lilah wondered, looking at him. She hoped he would be okay, even though the doctors had already said that he would.
Cameron shrugged. “I guess I should, huh? I don’t want to… good idea, though.” He grinned at her.
Lilah gave him a soft smile and stood up from her chair. "I'll come with you if you want."
Cameron hummed as he stood up too. “That’d be nice.”
(Sorry, I was dragged to the YMCA…)
"Should we go, then?" Lilah wondered, taking his hand in her own.
(Ooooof)
Cameron grinned happily at her. “Let’s.” He lead her from the room and out of the hosptial (because I’m lazy), and once they stepped foot outside, Cameron asked, “So, how long are you goingnto stay here?”
Lilah shrugged. "I'll probably go home tonight. Lilac gets lonely if I don't see her often enough. And when she gets lonely, she eats way too much and gets fat."
Cameron hummed again and looked out. “Is… anyone picking us up?” He pulled his phone out, ready to text someone to pick them up.
"Um… No? I didn't think about that," Lilah laughed sheepishly.
Cameron laughed gently. “No worries! I’ll just text Williams… we’re gonna have to wait a bit, though.” He glanced down at his phone and started to text.
"That's fine. We can just talk, then," Lilah said with a smile.
Cameron smiled back and stowed his phone away after reciving Williams’ “Okay, be there soon.”
Cameron then sat on the sidewalk and curled his fingers together, glancing around, inhaling the fresh air deeply.
Sure, I’ve only been in there for two days… but it was stuffy as hell…
Lilah sat down beside Cameron and took one of his hands, lacing their fingers together.
"You okay?" she asked gently.
Cameron leaned his shoulders against hers, squeezing her hand. “Yeah, I’m okay.”
"Okay, that's good. I'm sorry about the other day," Lilah whispered.
Cameron leaned his head against Lilah’s slowly. “Don’t worry about it. It wasn’t your fault.”
"I feel like it was… I can't stop thinking about it," Lilah admitted quietly.
Cameron squeezed her hand again. “I promise you, it wasn’t. You had nothing to do with it.”
Lilah hummed noncommittally. She sighed through her nose and rested her head on Cameron's shoulder.
"Maybe we could have that playdate for the dogs soon," she suggested.
Cameron nodded gently against her head. “Good idea. Lily would love it.”
He shut his eyes, inhaling that sweet smell off of her hair.
How weird are you to sniff her hair?
Shut up, her shampoo and conditioner smell really good.
"Lilac would be very glad for the company," Lilah murmured, closing her eyes. "I'd be glad of it, too."
I don’t think it’s her shampoo.
I don’t think you’re useful, yet here you are.
Cameron smiled a little at her response. “I would too. I think it’d be really cute to watch.”
(I gtg clean. Ugh.)
"Are we still talking about the dogs?" Lilah asked. She could feel her cheeks heating up from his comment, unsure if he really was talking about the dogs.
(Okiii)
Cameron raised his head a little. “Yeah, I’m talking about the dogs. What did you think I mean?”
"Nothing," Lilah murmured. So he was talking about the dogs…
Cameron blinked a couple times, feeling wrong-footed and confused. “Wha-what did you mean??”
"Really, it was nothing. I just thought you were being teasing," Lilah explained with a shrug and a blush, not meeting his eyes.
