(Pardon ‘being teasing’?)
Cameron relaxed against her again, still feeling confused. “About what??”
(Pardon ‘being teasing’?)
Cameron relaxed against her again, still feeling confused. “About what??”
(Yup. I wrote that correctly. I'm sure I could have put it better, but… shrugs)
"The cute part," Lilah mumbled, barely understandablely.
(Okay, huh)
Cameron squeezed her hand. “You are cute!” He smiled a little.
Lilah shrugged and made a noncommittal sound. She was just embarrassed at this point. She'd thought that Cameron had said something about her, but he hadn't and she'd taken it the wrong way…
Cameron leaned his head off of hers and gazed down at her worried profile. “Are you okay? You’re not usually this quiet.”
"'M fine," Lilah murmured, closing her eyes as she tried to keep her head on Cameron's shoulder.
Cameron put his free hand on her face and held it there for a bit. After that bit, he moved it, and set his head back down.
“Okay… Williams should be here soon, okay?”
"Mm-hm," Lilah hummed, her eyes still closed. Why was she so tired all of a sudden?
Cameron relaxed back into her with a gentle sigh. She’s so warm… I could sit here all day…
Lilah, utterly exhausted and forgetting she was outside, relaxed into Cameron. After a moment, her deep, steady breathing gave away that she was asleep.
It took Cameron a few moments to realize she was asleep. He was stuck, and he could see Willams’ car pulling up.
Should I carry her?
You might hurt her.
Lilah continued to sleep, oblivious to Cameron's thoughts. She smiled in her sleep.
Cameron shifted a little, wondering how asleep she was. If she was still half-awake, he could just walk her over. But if she were dead asleep, he would have to carry her.
Lilah was somewhere between half-asleep and fully asleep. She made a soft sound when Cameron moved her, but that was all.
Cameron registered the noise and nudged her again. “Lilah? Williams is here…”
"'M 'sleep. Leave me 'lone," Lilah muttered, still not actually awake.
Cameron nudged her again. “It’s time to go, Lilah.” He smiled a little.
"Don't wanna," Lilah murmured, burying her face in Cameron's shoulder.
Cameron sighed briefly, wondering how he were to go about picking her up. He shimmied his hands around her waist, turning a bit red despite himself, then stood, holding her like a smol, and supporting 99% of her weight.
Lilah blinked her eyes open a bit and turned to smile sleepily at Cameron.
"You're strong," she said before basically falling back asleep.
Cameron laughed gently at the clarifying statement. “Now the problem is carrying you over…” he frowned. “I. Can. Do. That.” He started walking with some difficulty, since it was hard to carry a sleeping human, but got used to the weight and carried her quite well. Soon he got to the car and Williams opened the door, shaking his head.
Lilah, still asleep, smiled. She had no idea what was going on around her. When she woke up, she would be so embarrassed.
Cameron glanced at the butler as he set Lilah down carefully. “What?” He finally asked Williams reproachfully.
“Nothing, sir.”
Cameron sighed and sat down next to Lilah in the car.
Lilah curled up on the seat and rested her head in Cameron's lap. She sighed contentedly.
Cameron made an ‘iiip’-like sound and glanced down at her, grinning like a dork. He reached down then gently booped her nose.
Lilah subconsciously crinkled her nose up, then smiled. She relaxed into Cameron as much as she physically could.
Cameron laughed and booped her nose again, throughly enjoying the contact. His free non-booping hand stroked her soft hair unconciously.
Lilah hummed in her sleep, still smiling. She crinkled her nose up again.
Cameron laughed again at her nose wrinkling.
Williams looked over his shoulder at Cameron. “You’re getting quite attached to the girl.”
Cameron’s grin faltered. “Yeah, I am. So?”
“Mistress Metzler wouldn’t be so happy with you.”
“Don’t you think I know that?”
Almost as if she could sense the atmosphere changing, Lilah frowned. She snuggled closer to Cameron, if that was even possible.
