Dee leaned out of the window. “Course you are, darling!” She grinned.
Dee leaned out of the window. “Course you are, darling!” She grinned.
"Okay. Thank you," Lilah said with a slight smile. She started after the paramedic and Cameron, walking a bit faster than normal in order to catch up with them.
John glanced over his shoulder at Lilah and held the door open. “I’m going to check him into a room, so you can go sit down, if you’d like.” He gestured over to the waiting room.
Lilah nodded. "Okay, thanks," she said before making her way over o a seat. She looked down at her hands and fiddled with her fingers.
A good few minutes passed and John beckoned her over. “Can you help with Cameron? I need to run. His room’s on the 3rd floor, room, 15, okay?”
Lilah's head shot up from where she had been looking at her lap. "What? Oh, yes, of course," she said, nodding as she stood quickly. She made her way to the room as fast as she could, knocking before she opened the door.
The room was quiet and empty. John lugged Cameron into the room and deposited him into a chair.
“Cameron might have a ‘mild’ coma, but the doctor’ll wanna see him anyway. If that’s the case, he’ll be okay.” He grinned at Lilah.
"A mild coma? What does that mean?" Lilah asked, moving closer to Cameron.
John scoffed. “Mild, more or less, is without permanment damage to his brain. He’s still alive in there, maybe a little dazed, but he’s going to be feeling some symptoms to having a coma.” John shook his head, strightening Cameron’s head a little.
Lilah looked down at him and frowned a bit. "When will he wake up?" she asked in a whisper.
John glanced down with a frown. “He was up a moment ago. He probably dozed off…. no matter, rest’ll help him lots. Don’t worry, girly, he’ll be fine.”
"Right. Okay. Thanks," Lilah murmured. She reached out to gently brush some hair out of Cameron's face, then moved her hand to cup his cheek.
John nodded and left the room.
Cameron’s features relaxed into her hand as he slept quietly, his breathing deep and slow.
"Get better, okay? I need you to get better. Please," Lilah whispered. She leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to his forehead, sighing as she straightened back up.
Cameron’s eyes opened a little and he reached for her as she straightened up.
“Stay… please…”
Lilah smiled down at him, though the smile wobbled a bit.
"Of course. I wasn't planning on going anywhere," she whispered, once again cupping his cheek.
Cameron murmured something indistinct and his head relaxed back into her hand. With a sigh, he was back asleep.
Lilah sighed and looked around for a place to sit. Seeing another chair in one of the corners, she pulled it over close to Cameron and sat down. She rested one arm on it and put her chin in her hand as she watched him with half open eyes. Her free hand ran through his hair; she hoped it would comfort him in his sleep.
