(Guess who's finally home!)
"I bet you do. You were gone for a while," Lilah said, giving him a soft look.
(Yay!)
Cameron met her gaze with a smile. "Yeah… I was only gone for two days, but that hospital bed…"
"Was horrible? The most uncomfortable thing you've ever slept in?" Lilah teased.
Cameron laughed and pushed her gently. "Shush! It was a change of beds, especially from a water bed."
"Hey, I'd have thought it was bad, too!" Lilah laughed.
Cameron laughed again. "Then don't tease me about it! I love my bed!"
"Yeah, this thing is pretty nice," Lilah admitted, wriggling around so that she shook the bed.
Cameron laughed gently. "Stahhhhhp it you might scare Lily!"
Lily's head barely appeared at the edge of the bed when he said her name. She borked tentatively.
(I got distracted by reading Catching Fire… This book is stressful.)
"Lily? She seems fine. Are you sure it's not you who's scared?" Lilah teased, wiggling some more.
(oof. Hunger Games is really good tho)
Cameron laughed again. "I'm not scared! I just… wasn't expecting the bed to move!"
(I'm almost done! I'm so stressed out from it! I just want them to be happy! But I think I know how the series ends, and that upsets me…)
"How?" Lilah giggled. "It's a waterbed! It's gonna move!"
(I knooooooooowwwwwwww lik why)
Cameron reached over and grabbed her. "Staaaaaaaaaaap! I'll hold you like this until you stop." He grinned.
(Onto Mockingjay…)
"Oh, please. I'll wiggle until I don't want to," Lilah declared with a grin.
Cameron squeezed her close. "Okay, it's a good, innocent choice to hold you until you stop."
Lilah raised an eyebrow at the comment. She held back a smile and a giggle, though, as she continued to shake the bed.
Cameron set his head down on hers, smiling as she wiggled. He didn't really mind the wiggling from the start, it offered, like he said, an innocent reason to hug her.
Lilah laughed softly and stopped moving. She looked up at Cameron with a smile.
"Okay," she sighed. "I'm done now."
Cameron resisted the urge to "Awwww" and let her go. "Good." He laughed gently.
"Did you want to cuddle or something?" Lilah asked, scooting back to sit up.
Cameron gave her a mock scowl. "Of course I diiiiid!" He made the last word long and whiny.
Lilah scrunched her nose, making a face at his tone.
"You're not gonna get anything like that…"
Cameron giggled faintly before mocking her face, yet ruined the effect by fighting a smile. "I think I will!"
"No. You actually won't," Lilah argued, raising an eyebrow and letting her expression become neutral.
Cameron caught notice of her face and his face, too, fell slack. "O-okay… I was just kidding around but…"
"Cameron, c'mon. I just meant for you to actually ask instead of whining. That drives me nuts," Lilah said, giving him a small – and hopefully reassuring – smile.
Cameron sighed. "I know, it's the thing to do, and it's right." He nodded and sat up to help Lily onto the bed.
"Cam… Hug?" Lilah gingerly offered, holding her arms out a bit.
Lily borked softly as Cameron set her down. He looked up at Lilah.
He nodded and leaned forward to hug her.
Lilah tightly wrapped her arms around him and rested her chin on his shoulder.
"Sorry for snapping at you," she murmured.
Cameron leaned his head against hers. "That's okay, Lilah. I went too far."
