Cameron stirred hazily, raising his head slowly. Everything swam before him and he felt nauseous.
Lily barked even louder, which sent a flash of pain through his head.
"Cameron? Cam, can you hear me?" Lilah asked, gently rolling him into his back so she could lightly tough his face.
Lily hopped off of his back with an afflicted bork.
Cameron screwed his eyes up to the bright lights in his closet. He covered his eyes with a faint groan at his headache.
"Cameron?" Lilah whispered. "Please, wake up."
Cameron shook his head with another faint groan, then mumbled a string of distorted words.
Sirens far off announced the paramedics approaching.
"Come on, Cameron!" Lilah cried. "Come on, please. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything. Just please be okay."
Lily barked loudly and skidded out of the closet as the front doors opened.
Cameron shook his head hazily again, resting his hand over his eyes. Sleep… sleep sounds good right now…
"Please, Cameron. Come on, please. Just stay awake," Lilah pleaded, taking his face in both of her hands.
(i have to go)
Cameron screwed his eyes up at the bright and sudden flash of light from his closet. He tried to focus his gaze onto her face and found he couldn't.
(Darn, okay. Leave me in agony, then. Lol.)
"Hey, hi. You can do it, Cam. I believe in you," Lilah whispered when she saw his eyes open.
(Sorry! Btw I’m not back. I’ll be on tomorrow during school.)
The lights, which weren’t very bright at all, had suddenly become as bright as stadium lights. He shut his eyes against them once more.
(Actually, just kidding I’m on for a bit. But if I ghost don’t blame meeee I’m on incognito on my IPad rn.)
(Ok. "See" you then.)
"Cameron, come on. Please, I believe in you. You can do it," Lilah softly encouraged him, lifting a hand to hold against his cheek.
(Hahaha “see” you then too)
Cameron shook his head, and barkings announced the paramedics and Lily.
The paramedics was a man and a woman, both rather muscular. The woman kneeled next to Cameron’s head as the man set something down out of sight.
The woman looked up at Lily, her soft gray eyes sparkling in the light of the closet.
“What happened, dear?” She asked softly.
(She looked at the dog or Lilah?)
"I don't know," Lilah whispered. "I just heard the puppy barking and ran up here to see him on the ground."
(Sh** Lilah sorry xD)
The woman nodded. “Okay, dear, we’ll take it from here. He’ll be quite alright.” She smiled warmly.
(Lol. I figured.)
"If you're sure," Lilah sighed, standing. "Is there any chance I could ride in the ambulance? His family isn't here to, and I hope he would want to see me when he wakes up…"
The woman threw Cameron’s arm around her neck and lifted him in a bridal pose not unlike similar to the one he used on Lilah earlier. She glanced down at him, frowning in thought and concentration.
“Sure you could, dear. Bed ready yet, John?” She called out of the closet.
“Yeah, it’s ready!” Her companion responded.
She walked out of the closet, supporting Cameron’s head on her shoulder.
Lilah followed after silently. What if it was her fault he got hurt? She'd been pretty upset over something possibly stupid, and after she'd left Cameron got hurt… It had to be her fault. Oh, gosh. What was she going to do?
The woman set Cameron down on the bed and the man murmured something to her. She nodded and jogged out the door. She poked her head back inside the room.
“You can come with me, dear. I’ll get you situated in the ambulance.”
Lilah nodded and followed them out if the castle and into the ambulance. She nervously bit her lip, tapping her foot quietly. What had she done?
The man, once inside the ambulance, propped Cameron’s bed up so that he was sitting up, rather than lying down.
Cameron was awake and blinking dazedly at the light change.
The woman pointed to a little ledge on the side of the vehicle. “You can sit there for now.”
"Thank you," Lilah said softly as she sat on the ledge. She watched Cameron, hoping that he would be okay.
The man stepped in front of Cameron. “I’ll take a look at him, Dee, you start driving back.”
Dee nodded and hopped out of the back.
Cameron blinked repeatedly at John then grinned.
John frowned a little, examining Cameron’s rather pale face.
Oh, Cameron. What have I done? You're hurt, on your way to the hospital. All because I was too curious about what you were going to say…
Lilah sighed and closed her eyes as she placed her head in her hands.
John was just about finished studying Cameron when they arrived at the hospital. He stood and helped Cameron out of the bed.
“Can you stand, sir?”
Cameron leaned somewhat against John. “Mmmmaybe…”
Lilah lifted her head and stood as well. She continued to watch on in silence, simply hoping he would be okay.
He's going to hate you after this. You know that, right?
She shuddered and wrapped her arms around herself at the thought.
John supported Cameron out of the vehicle. “Let’s get you to a room, yeah?”
Cameron nodded, walking slowly with John towards the back entrance to the hospital.
"Am I allowed to follow?" Lilah asked the woman from earlier.
