“But-“ Marcos sucked in a breath, not able to meet Justin’s eyes, “I just- I’m rough around the edges. I- I’m not worth it. I don’t deserve you.” Heat rose to Justin’s face, so he let his hair fall into his eyes.
“But-“ Marcos sucked in a breath, not able to meet Justin’s eyes, “I just- I’m rough around the edges. I- I’m not worth it. I don’t deserve you.” Heat rose to Justin’s face, so he let his hair fall into his eyes.
"Nobody's perfect. We're all rough around the edges."
“You aren’t,” Marcos said quietly, “You’re perfect.” Because that’s what they had hammered into Marcos’ head his entire life. That he wasn’t good enough, that he wasn’t enough. So Marcos had started believing them.
Justin laughed. "How am I perfect? I can't even eat carrots."
“You’re rich, you’re handsome, you’re funny, you’re- you’re perfect. I’m not any of that,” Marcos mumbled, looking at his shoes.
"How rich perfect? Most rich people I know are the opposite of perfect. And you're handsome and funny too."
“I’m not handsome. At all,” Marcos made a smile that didn’t quiet reach his eyes, “Nor am I very funny. And rich people… you can do whatever you want to do, since you got the money for it,” You don’t have to steal others’ money to get by, “I’m just nowhere near perfect. I’m strange.” I have a mutated power of some sorts. Most people would call that a monster. Marcos started to wring his hands and chew his lip.
"I'm as strange as can be." Um, super speed "I'm not even close to normal."
“You’re normal, trust me Justin,” He didn’t know the half of it, he didn’t know what abnormal was. Monster. “I just- I’m not worth your time. Or love.”
"Everyone deserves love. No matter if they are good or bad." Even Polaris deserved to be loved.
“I-“ I don’t, “Thank you, Justin.” He wrapped his arm around Justin’s waist and let that conversation fall away, “Limo again?”
"No we're going to take a cab." You could hear the sarcasm in his voice. "Duh, limo."
Marcos smiled at Justin, especially when he saw the limo. He slid in, waiting for Justin to sit next to him. He wasn’t worth the limo…. Maybe… Maybe Marcos should tell Justin about his powers, about how he stole money. Maybe then he would realize. No- I can’t do that. Bad idea written all over it.
Justin smiled as he got on the limo, sitting next to Marcos.
Marcos wrapped his arm around Justin’s waist again, sliding him closer as they drove. Gucci wasn’t too far away. Marcos looked at Justin’s handsome face, “What do you want to buy? Or are you going to browse?”
Justin thought for a moment. "I'm going to browse, then buy."
“Alright hon,” The car came to a slow halt, and Marcos tugged Justin out of the limo. The shop looked overwhelming, clothing that was too shiny and new everywhere in the store.
Justin noticed how surprised Marcos looked. "You look overwhelmed." He laughed as he started to walk inside. "Come on."
Marcos followed Justin, he eyes still on all the clothes. He spotted a price tag on one and nearly choked, “Oh, geez, are you sure even you can afford this stuff? It’s so…” Fancy, shiny, new, hot, everything… Marcos’ eyes were probably as wide as saucers.
"If I couldn't afford it, why would I suggest to come here? I can afford to buy out all the Gucci stores."
“Wow,” Marcos breathed, then saw an outfit he really like. He immediately went up to it and looked at the price. WAY too much. Marcos would probably get it muddy and torn the first day he wore it anyways.
Justin followed behind Marcos. "Do you like that?"
“I- I don’t,” Marcos lied, just so Justin speouldn’t buy it. It was too expensive, Marcos would probably never wear it in fear of getting it torn or dirty. Marcos forced himself to look away from the outfit.
"Are you sure?" Justin looked him in the eyes.
Marcos couldn’t keep the eye contact while he said, “Really, I don’t want it.” Though Marcos wished he could try it on… just once at least… No, I’d probably rip the expensive fabric.
"I never asked if you wanted it, I just asked if you liked it." Justin smiled knowing that Marcos did indeed like it.
Marcos blushed shyly and mumbled, “I’d ruin it the first time I put it on.”
“So?” Justin laughed at his comment.
“It’s too much for just wearing it once. It- It’s not meant for me to wear,” Marcos sighed. These outfits were meant for rich people who didn’t have to steal for an income, who didn’t have to get dirty. Marcos dejectedly sat down next to the changing room, “You should try something on, Justin. You’d look great.”
“I’ll try on whatever you pick out.”
