"Good," Lilah sighed, loosely recrossing her arms. She looked down for a moment, seemingly lost in though. When she looked up, her face held a curios expression and a deeper blush. "Do you, maybe, want to join me in the garden later? For a picnic?"
Cameron grinned a little, red tinging his face too. "Uh, yeah, sounds great!" He put his hands into his sweater pockets when he realized one of them was still hanging out.
I hope she didn't notice that.
(Would you like to time skip?)
(Sure.
Sorry about the intermittent responses.)
Lilah was waiting for Cameron in an open space in the garden, a picnic basket set beside her in the checkered blanket she sat on. She took out the plates and utensils they would need, along with a couple of cups.
(That's okay!)
Cameron peered around the side, feeling immensely nervous, as he had been for the past couple hours. He cleared his throat gently and walked out to her, with a slight, warm smile on his face once he saw her.
"Hi!" He exclaimed gently as he approached.
Lilah looked up from what she was doing and smiled. "Hey! Glad you made it," she laughed slightly.
Cameron laughed too and sat down. "So, what's on the menu, Lilah?" He glanced at her and immediately glanced away. Don't… don't stare.
"Well, I've got potato salad, some miscellaneous types of sandwiches, and what's left of the cheesecake from earlier," Lilah explained, bringing each item out as she named it. "Oh, and there's some punch in here, too."
Cameron grabbed one of the miscellaneous sandwiches and unwrapped it. "Ham and cheese. Fantastic. Do you have any mustard in there?" He asked, feeling more comfortable now that there was food involved.
"I…think so…" Lilah rifled through the basket in search of the hidden condiment. Pulling it out, she exclaimed, "Ah-ha! Here you go."
Cameron beamed and took it. For a split moment, their fingertips brushed (like that one vine xD) as Cameron took the mustard from Lilah. He applied the mustard to his sandwich and started to eat, oblivious to the brief contact.
(…I never saw that one…)
Lilah blushed slightly and picked up a sandwich for herself. Finding it to be tuna, she frowned and rewrapped it, pulling a new one out.
"Oooh, egg salad. That's much better than tuna," she murmured with a small smile.
(Bruh lemme try and find it… I couldn't find it so here's this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBqM2ytqHY4)
Cameron glanced at her, not able to talk since he had a mouthful. He grinned a little and nodded in agreement.
(I'll have to watch it later…)
Lilah giggled slightly at Cameron, then took a bite of her sandwich. She was glad he had agreed to join her. There was just something about him that made her curious.
(Okay, I'll have the link for reference.)
Cameron finished his sandwich quickly and reached for another. "Are there any more… oh come on, corned beef? Ueh." He put it back and pulled out another. "Bologna… salami… ughhhh…"
Lilah laughed. "Sure, just open every sandwich in there…" she teased him.
"Yep, every single one. Whoever made this basket has a bad taste in sandwiches." Cameron grinned and pulled out another sandwich.
"Well, hey! I was trying to pack something you would like, so I had them make one of just about everything," Lilah explained in playful defensiveness.
Cameron laughed. "One of everything? Well, then it's pointless to keep looking." He pulled the rest of the cheesecake out of the bin.
"Not if you find something else you like!" Lilah argued with a smile. She grabbed a plate and dished some potato salad onto it.
(That was a weird autocorrect. I thought you were trying to say 'bride'.)
Cameron huffed through a laugh. "Well, now, that would be impossible!" He cut a slice from the cheesecake, the smile lingering on his face.
(Idek… I type too fast, I think.)
"How would finding another sandwich you like be impossible?" Lilah asked, licking mayo from the corner of her mouth.
"I keep thinking about this cheesecake." Cameron laughed happily. He set the main dish down and started shoveling the cake into his mouth, most ungentlemanly.
Lilah laughed again, shaking her head. "You really shouldn't eat dessert before you finish your dinner," she teased.
Cameron glanced up at her, blinked, then shrugged. He continued shoving the dessert into his mouth as if he were afraid it'd run away.
"Cameron!" Lilah exclaimed through a laugh. "Oh my gosh…"
Cameron gave a painful sounding snort and swallowed the dessert. "What? I'm enjoying this highly edible food!"
