Marcos took it. He just wanted to forget about how he’d figure out that double date. Maybe he should just confess his crush? No, he couldn’t just… He shook away the thought as they continued to feed each other like a couple-but-not-a-couple they were. Marcos looked at the bill, the money he got from the bank would cover it easily. He pulled out his wallet and started counting out twenties.

(Gtg to bed soon, see you later :)

@Sugar-Lover

“I can pay for it. You save your money.” Justin quickly took the bill out of his hands. He took out his credit card and handed it to the waitress before he could be stopped.

“Hey,” Marcos whined as he crossed his arms over his chest and pouted, “I wanted to pay. I’m leaving the tip then.”

@Sugar-Lover

“No, you save your money. You need your money. Just last week you were complaining about how you couldn’t even buy a new pair of shoes because they were too expensive.” Justin took note of how cute Marcos was when he pouted.

“I just got payed though, let me at least pay the tip. Pleeeeaaase?” Marcos gave Justin puppy eyes. He didn’t want to money he just got to go to waste…

@Sugar-Lover

“This is why you have no money. You spend it all. Next meal you can pay, ok?” Justin avoided eye contact trying to not let the puppy eyes hinder him.

Deleted user

“But Justinnnnn,” Marcos leaned over the table, but relented, “Promise I can pay the next meal?”

Marcos huffed disappointedly and plopped back down into the seat. The waitress came back with Justin’s card. Marcos frowned at it, and frowned at Justin when he paid the tip to, but he sighed, “I guess it’s time to go back to the apartment then.”

@Sugar-Lover

“Not unless you want to make any pit stops on the way. Did you drive? Because I walked.” Justin slowly started to get up from the table, exiting the restaurant.

Marcos got up too and they left the restaurant, “No, I walked too, I can’t seem to think of any pit stops, can you?” Marcos titled his head to the side, maybe if they wanted to get that tandem bike… Nope. That’s only for couples and Justin and I are not a couple.

Marcos held Justin’s hand, savoring the fact that they sure looked like a couple, *but they weren’t. Marcos just had to keep that last fact clear in his head. It didn’t help that Justin’s hand was soft too. But Marcos enjoyed it while it lasted, on the entire walk home.

@Sugar-Lover

“So, are we just going to walk in silence?” Justin walked happily down the street wondering if the strangers thought they were a couple or just friends.

Deleted user

“Whatever you want, I happy with talking or just being silent,” Marcos responded happily, because it was true, just being with Justin made him happy, “But if you wanted to talk about something, we could talk about…” Marcos struggled for a second to come up with something, “Pets?”

@Sugar-Lover

Justin stopped and turned if front of Marcos, facing him. “We should go adopt a pet right now.” Justin smiled and gave some puppy eyes.

Marcos blinked once, then opened his mouth in shock, “Wait what? You actually want to go get one?” Marcos asked skeptically.

Deleted user

“Wait up,” Marcos said before jogged up with him. The entered the small pet store to squawks and barks, and Marcos looked at Justin, “What do we even want to get?”

Deleted user

Marcos smiled and wandered after Justin, looking at all the little pets, “I dunno, maybe a-” Marcos then saw a little cage. Kittens, nearly all of them sleeping, “Oh my gosh, Justin, look at them! They’re SO cute!”

Deleted user

“Really?” But Marcos was already petting each one of the kittens. One was a cute calico missing a paw, “Justin, look,” Marco held up the kitten, it couldn’t be older than 8 weeks, “It’s missing a paw. I want it.”

Deleted user

Marcos leaned into the hug. He had to remind himself it was just a friendly hug. But he grinned as he looked at the little kitten. They brought her up to the counter to pay, “Can I buy her? Please?” He didn’t want Justin paying for dinner AND the kitten.

Marcos pouted again, “Now you’re gonna run out of money because of me. And technically I was the one who suggested talking about pets.” The cashier gave held out a receipt, and Marcos snatched it and read the price, “Justinnnn!” Marcos drawled out his name like a child would, but still, it was expensive.

@Sugar-Lover

“I’m not going to run out of money. I could afford to buy an island and still buy a private jet and retire.” At least as long as my parents think I’m straight and give me money. “And I have good credit, do you even have a credit card?”

Deleted user

“I have a credit card!” Marcos protested, granted, said credit card was hardly used since he never seemed to pay it back and had poor credit, but Marcos left that part out. “I feel bad, you pay for everything,” Marcos complained.

@Sugar-Lover

“I said you can pay for the next meal, and unless you plan on eating the kitten, I’ve kept my promise.” Justin headed out of the store. “Maybe we should call a ride instead of walking.”
