"No, you're not. It'll be okay."
"No, you're not. It'll be okay."
"Will it?" She asked sadly.
Gij squeezed her hand. "Yeah."
"Okay." She said, turning her head to smile at him.
He smiled back warmly and squeezed her hand again.
(Time skip to when Grace comes?)
(Ya)
Several hours later, a mini van puled up to the apartment building. Someone knocked on the door. Sia opened the door, peeking out cautiously before grinning and opening the door. "Gracie! Good to see you!" Grace walked in. "Good to see you Sia!" Grace was a short dark haired woman with a sweet face. "I've got the crate for the dragon."
Gij grabbed onto Sobex and stood up carefully. He walked over and looked at Grace.
"He… he doesn't like crates." Sobex yapped in obvious agreement.
Grace nodded, smiling at the sight of the dragon. "Can we try it though? I'm afraid Iris or Ellen might agitate him."
Sobex whined at Gij, who mumbled back.
"Uh… I don't mean to be so brash, but I don't want to scare him again."
Grace frowned slightly. "Okay, we can try it, but if there's trouble, I want to try the crate."
Gij nodded and bowed a little. "Thank you."
Grace smiled. "No problem." Sia shouldered her bag and picked up another. "Let's go."
Gij put Sobex in his shirt and looked at Sia, then gestured to the door, letting her go first.
They walked out of the building. Sia glanced about for signs of the Sirens.
Gij hurried to Grace's car and squeezed into the back.
In the backseat, there were a couple of kids buckled in. Grace got into the front seat. "Those are my girls Iris and Ellen." Both looked about 7 and nearly identical. "Girls, say hi to dragon boy. Be nice to him and his dragon." Sia got into the car. "Hi Sia!" Iris shouted. "Hi Rissy! Haven't seen you in a bit! You've gotten taller!"
Gij blinked a couple times, feeling dumbfounded and wrongfooted already. God, I should've just left Sia. I shouldn't have dragged her into this situation.
Grace started the car and pulled out of the parking lot. Ellen squinted at Gij.
Gij glanced at the child and grinned a little.
Ellen cracked a smile, unable to keep a straight face. Grace and Sia were chatting. Iris wiggled in her seat. "How much longer Mama?!" "A few hours sweetie."
Gij blinked at the child, feeling dumber and dumber by the second. I don't belong here.
Sia glanced at Gij. "You alright?"
"I… don't know." Sobex yapped gently from his shirt.
"Is that the dragon!?" Iris asked.
Gij jumped a little and looked at Iris. "Uh… yeah."
"Can I see it?"
(I gtg :(
Gij glanced out the window and pulled Sobex out of his shirt.
