Gij glanced up at Sia. "Should we tell her?"
Gij glanced up at Sia. "Should we tell her?"
Sia shrugged numbly. "Maybe explain when there aren't any smaller ears around." She said, nodding at the twins. Ellen frowned and stuck out her tongue. Grace nodded. "It'll be their bedtime by the time we get to my place, so you can explain further then if you want to tell me anything."
Gij nodded and looked at one of the kids, who he believed was Ellen.
"Would you like to pet Sobex?" He asked, trying to be kind. He hardly went around kids.
Ellen nodded, tentatively extending her hand. "Can I put him?" Iris asked.
Sia stared out the window, commanding herself to calm down. There's no need to worry. Why are you worrying?
Gij pulled the dragon towards Ellen, and Sobex yapped happily then licked Ellen's outstretched fingers.
Ellen giggled. (Sry if my replies are slow, my sis is showing me Hamilton)
(reek alright)
Gij chuckled too and pulled Sobex back. "He's nice, isn't he?"
Ellen nodded.
(Time skip to when they get to Grace's place?)
(Yisss)
A few hours later the sun was dipping low into the sky, setting the sky a blazing with fiery orange and yellow. Iris squinted, staring into the sun. "It's so pretty!" Grace nodded, opening the car door and unbuckling her. Ellen was dozing off.
Gij glanced at Ellen, whom he grew to like, and poked her. "Hey, wake up. We're here."
Ellen opened her eyes. "Okay." She unbuckled herself after a couple of minutes of struggling with the buckle. She suppressed a yawn. Grace chuckled softly. "Bedtime for you two." Ellen frowned. "I'm not tired!" Iris nodded. "Me too."
Gij clambered out of the car, standing a distance away with Sobex, not wanting to intrude.
Grace sighed. "Ellie, this happens every night. You say you aren't tired, but the second I tuck you in, you drop off." Ellen crossed her arms. "Let's just go inside first." Grace said. Sia climbed out of the car, shouldering her bags.
Gij put Sobex hastily into his shirt, realizing he was standing in public, and shifted his weight on the other foot.
Grace lead them to the front door and unlocked it. "Home sweet home." She said, stepping back let them in.
Gij trailed behind them, feeling lost and strange compared to the others. He swallowed nervously then shut the door behind him.
"Spare bedroom's to the left." Grace said, picking up a sleepy Iris and carrying her to her bedroom.
Gij nodded and followed Grace awkwardly up the steps and to the spare room, where he let Sobex out of his shirt.
Sia followed, leading Ellen up stairs. "I'm not tired." Ellen grumbled. "Sure, kiddo."
Sobex flapped onto the bed with a gentle thump. Gij chuckled and joined him. What about Sia?
Grace and Sia saw the twins to bed before walking into the spare bedroom. "I've got a trundle bed under that one if you two don't mind sharing a room." Grace said.
Gij glanced at Sia and scrambled up. "I'll take the- oww…" He grabbed his shoulder, for he had gotten up too fast.
Sia rushed over. "You okay?" Grace frowned in concern. "What happened?"
"It's just this damn wound. I got up too fast." Gij rubbed his shoulder with a wince.
Sia nodded. "Just sit down." She said, guiding him to a chair. Grace pulled out the trundle bed before sitting down cross-legged on the floor. "So… what happened that needed me to drive up and get you?"
Gij stayed silent, glancing at Sia.
"Um…" Sia sat down on the floor. "Well, Gij stole Sobex from Sirens." Grace arched an eyebrow. "You messed with Sirens?" "They were abusing him Gracie!" Grace nodded. "So what happened?" "Well, a week or so after Gij and Sobex started staying with me, the Sirens found him again."
Gij nodded in agreement to the explanation. "Then they stabbed me and Sia decided once we chased them off that we would come here."
Grace nodded. "What's your next move after this? I'd love to, but I can't house you forever." Sia glanced at Gij.
