“How do you know they use the money for a good cause?” Maxwell asked with his head kicked o the side. “It seems much more likely that they do the opposite.”

(I got to go. I be back to respond later.)
Zoe sniffed. "Thats because that's what my dad did, we didn't have enough money, so he went on being an assassin, and they caught him. " Zoe paused. "wait why am I telling you this?" She shook her head and began to walk away.
"It was a ribbet." Damian walked over and picked it up but also saw (Is Riverpaw big or Small?") Wolf. He hasn't seen a wolf around these parts in years.
(He was talking about Riverpaw’s whimper lol)
Edwin caustiously followed Damian until he saw the wolf too.
(she's pretty small)
Riverpaw looked up at the humans with wide eyes, slowly backing further into the foliage.
“It’s okay,” Edwin said immediately when the tiny wolf backed away, “We’re not going to hurt you.”
Damian pulled a piece of jerky he was carrying in the bag he brought and tossed it towards her. "Its just a pup. Poor thing." He looked around for the pack, but it was only her.
Riverpaw recognized the younger human from the castle, the one that, if she remembered, was supposed to marry the princess. What was he doing out here? She recognized the other human as well, she'd seen him around before but it was always when he was hunting. Her sister always told her to stay away from hunters, even if they offered food.
Riverpaw backed up some more, wrapping her tail around herself.
“Can we keep it?” Edwin asked, looking at the little pup
"Edwin throw your bow over there." He nodded to behind them. "I'll keep watch." He didn't want to scare the poor thing, but if she was alone he couldn't leave her out here by herself.
Edwin set his bow and arrows down a good distance away. He glanced at the little wolf carefully when he looked back at them, “It’s okay,” He soothed again.
Riverpaw cautiously sniffed at him, then eyed the peice of food in front of her. It wasn't close enough for her to grab it without coming from under the fern…
She took a few careful steps forward, keeping her eyes on Edwin.
"I guess hunting will have to wait." He looked around to make sure nothing was coming. "You gain her trust, she doesn't seem to be a fan of m."
Edwin kept on looking at the little pup gently, “You can come out. We won’t hurt you,” Edwin held out his hand slowly in case the pup wanted to sniff it.
Riverpaw froze, then remembered what her sister had told her. Her ears perked a little as she leaned forward, her nose just barely touching Edwin's fingers, and she sniffed, moved her head back, then sniffed again. Hm…h-he doesn't smell like a prince.
She nudged his hand gently, and licked it once before backing up again.
“You don’t have to hide,” Edwin crouched low, looking the pup in the eyes, “We’re safe. I promise.”
I…h-humans aren't u-usually this nice…b-but I guess he is-..was? A prince…
She tilted her head a little, her ears twitching, and she carefully stepped out of the fern, sniffing at the meat.
"We should probably bring her with us. She won't last out here long by herself." He picked up Edwin's bow and arrows and hoped Edwin gained her trust enough to pick her up and bring her.
“Will you let me take you somewhere safer?” Edwin asked, holding out both his hands, “We can get you more food, too.”
Riverpaw looked up at him, then looked over at the other human. M-maybe he's nice too…
She looked back at Edwin and barked stepping forward and nudging at his hand.
Edwin gently picked the pup up and stood, holding it against his chest to keep it steady. He looked at Damian, “You want to grab the rabbit?” The joy was delayed because of the pup earlier, but now Edwin was elated that he got something on his first hunt. He smiled and petted the wolf in his arms.
"Yeah grab the rabbit as well." Damian wouldn't
be able to hold it because he had to use his bow. "Alright, let's head back." He started on his way. Now he was tasked with protecting two. His bow was ready at his side in case something jumped out at them.
Riverpaw looked around as they walked. Wonder w-where we're going…
Edwin grabbed the rabbit with one hand, using his arm to support the wolf’s hind legs and his other arm to support the fronts. He followed Damian, using his free hand to pet the wolf pup in a soothing manner.
(Wait did she actually speak or think that? Lol)
(lol whoops, no she thought it, hang on)
(Cool, just wanted to make sure Edwin had the appropriate reaction XD)
(right XD)
Riverpaw couldn't help but lean into Edwin's hand. Being pet always calmed her, even in situations like this, which didn't happen often.
