Savannah looked up, her hand quickly going over her mouth in shock. "Oh my god… Edwin! You're alright!" She jumped up off the couch and hugged him tightly, breaking down in tears. "I-I thought you were dead! I thought… I-I thought the assassins got you!"
Edwin blinked at her. She was crying. Over him. “I-“ Edwin held her close to him, “I wouldn’t let assassins get me,” Edwin said awkwardly. He still couldn’t believe her reaction.
"Dont worry I made sure he was safe." Damian stood and patted both they're shoulders. This is a good thing, he wasn't going to lie to himself though, he was really going to miss the days with Edwin. He had finally had someone visit him and treat him like a real person. "I'm happy for the both of you." He smiled down at them.
"W-Where have you been all this time? Why didn't you come back?" Savannah looked up at Edwin, brushing tears from her eyes.
Caspian stood to the side and Savannah met with Edwin
“I- well- It’s a long story,” Edwin sighed, “I at first came with the intention of finding your attacker, to draw him out. But then I met Damian and I didn’t-“ Edwin sighed midsentence, “I just can’t go back to being pampered. I like to cook my own meals and fish and even chop wood.” Edwin explained, looking at the ground.
"But you can do that if you want at the palace! You'd be king! Who would stop you, honestly? I'm perfectly happy for you to do that, just please don't leave me…" Savannah pleaded desperately. She really did love Edwin. "I know you don't think I care since we were just betrothed to each other, but I do! Remember when we first met? Before either of us knew that the other was royalty at all? I had a crush on you from the start, Edwin. You saw how flustered I was, and you saw how Evanna was laughing. Oh, please Edwin… please believe me!"
Edwin didn’t know what to say. She had a crush on him from the start. He opened his mouth, “I- Of course I’ll come back. But I want Damian to be a noble. And I need to shave.” Edwin said the first things that came to his mind, but then smiled. He sounded ridiculous.
"Oh, thank you!" Savannah hugged him again. "Of course… Damian can be a noble, you can do whatever you please in that respect! We should probably get back… generally speaking, I'm not actually supposed to be walking, or… you know, out of the castle." She laughed weakly, wincing a bit as sparks of pain exploded in her leg near the wound.
Riverpaw peeked into the room, back in her wolf form, and tilted her head at the princess.
Caspian came inside “hello”
“You aren’t supposed to be walking?” Edwin frowned, then just wanted to show off how he’d changed with Damien as he lifted her off her feet. He looked at the new guy, “Who are you?”
Savannah gasped quietly as she was swept off her feet, but she didn't seem to be displeased. "That's my childhood friend, Caspian. Caspian, this is Edwin."
“Oh so your hiM!” He smirked at Savannah
“I’m her betrothed, if that’s what you mean.” Edwin said. Gosh… He was barely a prince now. His mother would be scolding him for using contractions in his words.
Savannah's face flushed a bit. "Yes. Thanks for all the help in finding him, Cas." She said with a hint of sarcasm.
(Where should I put Evanna)
"You're still going on about that noble stuff." He smiled at Edwin. "You know won't make a good noble."
( Inhave to go. And sorry it was so short.)
“I don’t care if you’ll be a good noble, I want you to be one because you’re my friend. And you make good venison.” Edwin replied smartly.
(Maybe have Evanna see them as they walk out of Damian’s house, and she gets curious so she goes and talks to Damian)
(You could have her yeet inside like SUP SCRUBS WHAT'S GOING ON IS THAT EDWIN ALSO WHY ARE YOU CARRYING MY CHARGE??)
(Lol, yep, that even kinda sounds like Evanna 🤣)
(I've probably gtg soon, so if I suddenly disappear for like more than half a day… that's why.)
"I'll miss my house." Damian looked around. He worked hard on this place and leaving it would be even harder.
“You can stay and live here, I wouldn’t dare take the great Damian out of his home,” Edwin teased with a laugh, “But when you come into town to sell your meat, or whenever you come to town as a whole, I want the people to respect you after what you taught me. And how you let me stay in your home.”
Riverpaw walked out silently, going up and nudging Edwin's leg.
Edwin looked down at the girl, now back to being a pup, “You can stay at the palace if you want to?” Edwin could only guess what she was trying to say, and was probably wrong at that.
Her ears perked at that, and she looked away. I-I don't..deserve that. But it was a kind offer, and she didn't have much of a choice. She could barely hunt for herself. She looked back up at Edwin and wagged her tail.
