Edwin looked at Savannah, “I want her to come too.” He smiled at her. He still couldn’t believe how she turned from human to pup, but hopefully he could find out later.

"You can give me whatever title you want. I just want to stay here." It was the only home he knew and the he wanted to know. "You're all welcome to come back anytime." Damian was definitely going to be a bit lonely when everyone left, but he was used to it.

"She's welcome to come. Any friend of yours is a friend of mine." Savannah smiled softly.

“And mine!” Caspian grinned

Riverpaw yipped at the princess, nudging at her leg gratefully.

“I guess… I guess we can go back,” Edwin said, looking at Damian home one last time. His eyes met Damian’s, “I’ll be back every once and a while, if you still welcome me.”

"Of course. Wait here." Damian left out the back. He wanted to give Edwin, something. He went to the the shed and grabbed what he needed. "It will be fine, they will come visit."

Edwin waited, wondering what Damian could possibly be doing. He watched the door for him to come back.

Damian opened the door onace again and handed Edwin the bow he caught his first animal with, even if it was just a rabbit. "Here take this. When you come visit next we can go hunting for real."

Edwin’s eyes lit up. It was his bow. Edwin gave an apologetic glance at Savannah before setting her down gently and hugging Damian, “Thank you. Thank you so much.” Edwin withdrew before Damian could react, and took his bow gratefully.

"You're welcome." Damian was taken aback by the hug, but quickly regained himself. "You should be going now."

Yes, we should…” Edwin turned to Savannah and Caspian with a nod.

"Come on, Edwin." Savannah held onto his hand as she made her way out of the house into the town square. A carriage was waiting for them there to take them back to the palace.

“People will stare at my beard. And the dirt on my face. And my bow,” Edwin remarked as he entered the carriage, tugging at his small beard as he came more and more self conscious.

"Don't worry about it. They'll probably just be glad that you're back." Savannah brushed some dirt off his cheek with her thumb.

Riverpaw followed closely, jumping up into the carriage with a bit of struggle. I think you look cool. She thought, tilting her head up at Edwin.

“I just-“ Edwin cut himself off. No matter how much he loved ignoring his responsibilities he was born into, he was the prince and future king and nothing could change that. He sighed before saying, “The court will eat me alive.”

"Edwin…" Savannah sighed. "Everything will be fine, just trust me. You don't even have to tell them where you were, if you don't want to. They couldn't possibly force you to; you know that. We're almost there."

Damian slumped onto his couch, not sure of what to do with himself right now. Again, he was all alone, if Edwin didn't stay here he would have been fine with this quietness, but now it just didn't sit right with him.

“I dunno…” Edwin shook his head and leaned against the carriage’s interior. He started chewing on his lip, but suddenly realized how un-princely it was. He needed to break a lot of habits…

Riverpaw whined, pawing at Edwin's leg. She couldn't speak to him now, but she hoped he was okay.

"Are you alright? You still seem nervous." Savannah gently turned Edwin's head so that they were making eye contact. "I need you to trust me, alright?"

“But people will ask questions. And that will lead to suspicions when I don’t respond plainly. I’m just-“ I’m just not meant to be a prince. “I’m just a little worried.”

"I'll help you, Edwin. You can say you were looking for the assassins who shot me and can't currently disclose any information. That's not a lie, is it? I mean, that was your goal at first, at least, even if it wasn't by the end."
