Taking to an actual chef about my baking mishaps is wild-
I told her about the marshmallow cookie incident, and she asked me if I chilled the dough, which rack I used, whether I used a cookie sheet or a cake pan-

They were Pilsbury pre-made, pre-cut cookie squares-

Not me thinking that chilling dough just kept it firmer while baking or something- not much of a Michelin Star over here, I just know enough to not have to eat microwave stuff every day.

Chef was very nice just extremely stressed - I'm working with her for the summer with a couple other folks. Helping kids cook and trying (and failing) to get them to try new stuff.
Apparently, pineapple upside down cupcakes and marshmallow brownies are no match for heckin McDonalds-
