Juni: jogs to the exit, panicking internally but trying and failing to hide it

now outside

Tseth: looking around “A bit of fresh air is nice.. but unexplored forest is never safe, in my experience.”

Naveil: (to everyone) "Stay on your guard. This place seems too good to be true."

Resh: a little farther out “It doesn’t look like there’s anything dangerous out here.”

Juni: sprints over to him “You just said something out here could kill us!”

Tseth: spreading out his wings a bit “I could try scouting in the air, but it wouldn’t be very effective for seeing what’s on the ground.”

suddenly, an eerie chorus of voices can be heard, whispering in an unknown language. The voices seem very inhuman, and they seem to be surrounding the group…

Tseth: pulling out a large knife and gets into a defensive position the second he hears the voices “Okay, this not good.”

Alex: also pulls out a knife and takes up a defensive stance “This place just gets worse, doesn’t it.” his tone of voice conceals fear

Resh: Pulls out his sword and starts looking around, stepping in front of Juni “Shit.”

Juni: pulls out her daggers and flares out her wings, trying to appear bigger, her hands shaking a little

Naveil: unsurprised, but a little twitchy "I suppose that was to be expected… But I've been waiting to stab something since I got here."
He tries to hide smile as he points his spear towards the nearest voice.

Nathaniel: Snaps back to reality and waves his hand. A scythe appears out of purple smoke. It has a blue-ish, purple blade with the snath created from twisted wood. "Such an ominous chorus." He hisses. "I'm not about to become dead meat."

Angie opens a portal and Moss steps out. They have a gash in their head and dried blood on their face in large drips
Moss: What the hell. I'm supposed to be dead??? Angie what the hell.
Angie: I got bored :p
Devia: Yeah you loser.

Alex: switches to infrared vision, but doesn’t see anything aside from the people he’s already met “I don’t see anything..”

Tseth: “Must not have a heat signature, then. Or it’s a trick. Who knows.”

A cloaked creature appears from within the trees, standing at 9 feet and 10 inches. (it can be bigger but it decided no) it speaks as if multiple beings are speaking, though it’s only one. It seems like it’s some sort of spirit or guardian of the forest.

???: “what are you doing here, mortals..?”

Tseth: tense “It’s not like we had a choice in coming here.”

Angie: Eyes snap to the being within the trees Why are you hiding?
Devia: Spawns cartoon eyes in the > < shape Yeah!! We won't judge you.

Naveil: sizes up the creature, searching for weak spots "And who might you be?"

Nathaniel: Growls. He holds his scythe in an attack ready position, sneering at the figure. "I am no mortal." He hisses from the congregation of voices. His ears are sensitive. "However, curiosity seemed to get the best of us." He mumbles

Angie: Wings spread to their full length (around 4 feet) What is under the cloak? Are you pure spirt? Do you have a form?

???: “You are trespassing…” it growls at Naveil “I am the guardian of this forest. That is all you need to know.” It looks at Nathaniel and tilts its head, amused “You are not a mortal? Please… enlighten us.”

(It likes to swap between referring to itself as one or multiple beings for who knows what reason)

Angie: Wings spread to their full length (around 4 feet) What is under the cloak? Are you pure spirt? Do you have a form?

Resh: “I don’t think trying to make small talk with this thing is the best idea…”

Tseth: looks up at the forest spirit “We do not want to cause harm.. but we will if we must.”

Alex: quietly “I don’t think you should say things like that”

Nathaniel: Bares his fangs at the forest spirit. "I'm a demon. Last time I checked, that made me inhuman. So there. There's your answer." His black raven wings puff out, adding more to his defensive pose.

???: stares at Nathaniel “I never implied that you are a human. While humans are mortals, so are many other creatures… and to us, you are a mortal.” looks at Tseth “And I would advise you all put your weapons down, if you truly do not wish to cause harm. Otherwise, I could always resort to more… forceful methods.”

Resh: grips his sword firmly, staying in front of Juni

Naveil: fidgeting with his spear, unwilling to drop it "And how do we know you won't use your 'forceful methods' when we're all defenseless?"

???: stares at Nathaniel “I never implied that you are a human. While humans are mortals, so are many other creatures… and to us, you are a mortal.” looks at Tseth “And I would advise you all put your weapons down, if you truly do not wish to cause harm. Otherwise, I could always resort to more… forceful methods.”

Resh: grips his sword firmly, staying in front of Juni

Tseth: “I’m only putting this down if I’m sure you aren’t going to cause us harm. Can you prove that?”

Alex: extremely concerned “Kody-”

???: glares at Tseth “Do you really think that you could hurt me with that puny thing? Now, one more chance, mortal…” it speaks in a warning tone

Gabriella: Just watches, and notes down every single movement of the guardian of the forest. It was…quite territorial if the young girl was being honest. "Forceful methods?" she repeats, her face becoming blank all of a sudden.

???: glares at Tseth “Do you really think that you could hurt me with that puny thing? Now, one more chance, mortal…” it speaks in a warning tone

Tseth: “Not really.” he pauses “If we did stand down, would you cause us no harm?” he still has no intent to back down, but it’s worth a shot
