Ember nodded a little as she made it over to the desk and looked over at what he was writing "oh okay anything interesting or no?" She paused for a moment "I'm okay I guess"
Ember nodded a little as she made it over to the desk and looked over at what he was writing "oh okay anything interesting or no?" She paused for a moment "I'm okay I guess"
Nathaniel closed the book, the same one Ember told him not to touch. He placed the pen back in its lone holder. "No. Just some wise words for who'll be next in line. Better to do it sooner than later. Kids like to read a letter from their parents, right?" His smiled slowly started to fade as he realized her never got a letter to read— not from either parent. The constant realization that his childhood was all means to stop him from finding out who he was filled the king's resentment.
Ember watched his hands as he closed the book and she felt some type of annoyance she sighed and took a seat in an arm chair near the desk "I guess so… "
Nathaniel shook his head, snapping himself out of his thoughts. "What's wrong, Ember?" He looked down at the book. "Sorry, I had to. It's a family thing. I promise, I'm not casting any more spells." He giggled, putting the book back in its place on his desk. "I would try to explain, but since I changed the house name, it would be a bit difficult to get the words right." Staring at Ember, he took a deep breath. "You'll understand during our wedding, hopefully. You still want to marry me, yes?"
Ember looked up and cleared her throat "nothing's wrong dear I just worry about that book… " she looked up at him a little confused "of course I still want to why wouldn't I?? "
Nathaniel glanced at the book then shrugged his shoulders. "It's not going to hurt me anymore— unless I conduct another spell. I won't be conduction another spell for a while. I'll be okay." He tapped his fingers on the desk, bitting the inside of his lip. "I was just making sure. We have all the time to make that official. Now, what would you like to do today, dear?"
Ember tapped her arm with her pointer finger and she looked around the study "whatever you say dear, I don't really mind what we do today just nothing that's going to make this headache worse.. "
Nathaniel got up from his chair, walking over to Ember, and kneeling next to her. "I thought you said you were okay." He felt her forehead with the back of his hand. "You don't feel warm. Should I get medicine for you? Or do you possibly know why you have a headache?" Concern flashed in his eyes. "Why don't we lay back in bed? It would help, yes? My room has little light in it."
Ember smiled a little "I am okay it's only a headache it won't kill me I promise you, but if you want to go to bed I wouldn't apose to it. "
Regardless, Nathaniel still upheld his concerned care. “It may be a headache, but we don’t know what’s causing it!” He started to fret. “It’s could potentially harm you in some way. Come on, let’s go.” Picking Ember up, he brought her back to his room, carefully setting her down on the fresh new sheets. He got into bed next to her, taking off his blazer, and wrapping his arms around her. “I’m worried about you after last night.” He whispered.
"Darling a swear I'm alright you don't have to be afraid of something happening. " she gasped a little when he picked her up but didn't argue she simply let him do as he pleased and nuzzled into him closing her eyes making a soft sound when he set her down and curled up on herself she was in mostly comfortable clothing a pair of shorts and s tank top so she wasn't uncomfortable in any way
Nathaniel brush some hair out of her face, tucking it behind her ear. “I worry because that’s my job. If something bad happens, it will be to me and not you. I’ll make sure.” He kissed her on the jaw, pulling her closer. “I just want to make sure you’re in a safe environment. And are in good health.”
"Love nothing bad is going to happen I promise you that. " she closed her eyes and smiled a little when he kissed her jaw and she cuddled into him "I am safe and I am healthy. "
“If you say so, than I believe your word.” He laid his head in the crook of her neck. “It makes me happy that you feel safe— and that you’re extremely healthy. Now I just want to cuddle and hope no other symptoms arise.” He wrapped his arm around her waist, the other propped under her head like a pillow.
She smiled a little and held him close to her " I love you, your so sweet to be worried about me dear. " she kissed his head softly and closed her eyes "cuddles sound amazing right now my love" she nestled her head against his with a smile I her face
Nathaniel protected the girl, growing at specks of dust as you do. He nuzzled against her neck. “I love you too.” He grumbled, still worried about Ember. You never know. “Yes, they do, don’t they.” He pressed his body against hers, liking the warmth the wolf produced.
It didn't take her long to fall asleep breathing softly her body curled up against his it was a rather cute picture if you were able to see
Nathaniel ran his fingers through her hair. “I haven’t seen you in your wolf form in a long time. I wonder have you tamed your powers.” He whispered. He laid on his back, pulling her on top of him, wrapping his arms around your her back. He kissed her on the cheek.
Ember smiled a little and spoke quietly before she fell asleep "you gain control of your powers when you find your mate.. " she let him do as he pleased moving her on top of him as she held him close
Nathaniel smiled, glad to be the one betrothed to her. “So, you’re in control because I’m your true love. I find that to be beautiful.” He kept her on top of him like a sandwich, falling asleep for a short time before flinching awake. Another dream, but not a nightmare.
Ember laid against him for a good while before he jerked awake causing her to snapping her head up "what? What's wrong?? " her voice was groggy and slurred as she glanced around the room
Nathaniel rubbed her back, soothing back into a sleepy state. "Nothing's wrong, dear. My body is just waking me up because it is technically day. It's like when you sleep in school and wake up before the bell." He giggled. "Only accompanied it by an interesting dream."
Embers breath slowed a bit "i- Nathaniel what the hell is school? " she looked up at him with a confused look on her face her head titled a little acting as if she was a dog
Nathaniel blinked, staring at her with a flabbergasted expression. "You— You're telling me you've never been to school.. How do you know how to do stuff?" Her confusion confused him greatly. "We're you homeschooled or something? How did you learn about most you know?"
"Dear…I'm an observer, a fly on the wall. I was abandoned by my pack I didn't have anyone I had to teach myself and raise myself.
"You're amazing. Each and other day, you reveal yourself to be a resilient person. I love you for that." He kissed her upon the forehead, turning on his side, bringing Ember with him. "How are you feeling? Are you better now that we're resting?"
She smiled a little bit a soft blush spreading across her face "I love you too. " it took a minute for the blush to fade before she answered " I'm okay I guess. "
"Are you sure? Your head isn't still pounding, is it?" Nathaniel fret of his fiancée, worried about her health, just like she was his. He gave her a kiss upon her rosy cheeks. He leaned over the bed, grabbing something from the bottom of the night stand. It was a little circlet crown with jewels hanging from it. He placed it on Ember's head, lifting her head up with his pointer finger. "You will be my wife, and we will have a family. You look beautiful in the queen's crown and it will stay that way."
"It hurts a little but not. " she blushed brightly when he placed the crown on her head "Nathaniel.. I am not queen yet what are you doing?? " her blush only got brighter the more he talked
“Good.” He didn’t listen to her questioning of his actions. “You are queen, Ember. Queen Ember of hell is what I officiate you as.” Nathaniel fumbled with a ring in his coat pocket, slipping it on her ring finger. “We can have a ceremony later, but I do not need to word of God to marry you—“ He stuck his tongue out, crinkling his nose. “As long as you agree to accompany throughout life— that’s all you need to be my Queen.” He kissed her, wrapping his arms around her.
