Osiris whimpered. “No. It won’t be okay. Nothing will be okay, buttercup. Don’t let go of me, okay?” He could understand his cousins anguish now. It was so bad, Osiris almost threw up. He didn’t want this this to happen. So many could get hurt and wouldn’t be able to retaliate. Not even Lis herself could.
"I promise, I won't let anything happen to you Osie," he held Osiris tighter, trying to show that he was there, that he would protect the scared hellhound. "I promise to not let go of you…. until you want me to"
"Because I won't. One time. Just the once, okay? It's just the once. . ." Lis replies, realizing that she's close to breaking down herself. She buries her face in Bane's neck.
Seriph shrugs, smiling innocently.
Lis simply stops the blood from flowing so much, then temporarily removes her hand. She grins, showing Bane the base of it. It blended so seamlessly with her wrist that it was impossible to tell it wasn't a part of her. It still contains her blood, the veins merely sealed off. "I'll be fine."
She pulls Bane close, hugging him tightly, feeling tears start to fall down her own face silently.
Seriph sighs. "I made an effort not to be seen."
Seriph then turns away, watching Osiris and Devon. He sighs. "Well, I suppose I'd better go, Naize. . . by the way, the panther is back. I don't know where, but she never went far."
Naize perked up, going to go find her
(My responses might be delayed. I'm at home sick in bed)
Osiris' breathing slowed. "We're all in danger! Everyone is in danger!" He screeched at the top of his lungs. The figure behind this force scared him. He hated this person with all his heart. "He's going to kill us for killing his companion. I don't want to die!" He kept yelling. Osiris was shaken up badly.
–
Bane put Lis in his lap like a parent would with a small child. "I trust you. I trust you won't leave me again…" He rubbed her back, still teary-eyed from his breakdown. "It'll be okay.." His voice was hoarse, and you could tell something was off. Bane could feel the same presence that woke Osiris up and made him whine. Bane looked at her hand and traced the lines of her palm. He took her hand and held it. "I know you'll be alright. You're strong." He hushed Lis, trying to make her feel better the best he could. "I love you.." Bane whispered in her ear, wiping the tears from her face. He didn't want her to cry, he hated seeing her cry. While trying to make Lis feel better, he glared at the vampire. "See you around, I guess," nodding to the tall person.
"Shh Osie, calm down, no one is going to listen to you if you are freaking out." Devon sighed holding Osiris against him. "you need to breathe, and tell me what is happening"
Osiris took in some deep breaths, his still body shaking. "They killed uncle.." He started slowly. "Lis killed him, we betrayed him. He was the devil's companion, and the devil isn't happy. I can feel his presence, anyone should." He nuzzled his head into Devon's neck. "He's going to kill us all. I'm not ready to die. No one can take the devil down." He pulled Dev even closer to him.
"shh its ok, there is a lot of us 1 and 2…. I won't let anything happen to you, you are not going to die Osie" He rubbed the hellhounds arms, trying to calm him down, "It will be ok"
Osiris whimpered and buried his head in Devon's chest. "Are you sure it'll be okay? I can feel him… can't you, buttercup?" He tried to slow his breathing further, but he couldn't get his pulse to lower. He laid his head on Dev's chest and listened to his heartbeat to calm himself down. "I know you won't let anything happen to me."
Devon sighed, "yes, I may not be the best but I can feel something…but I learnt long ago not to let it get to me…showing you are afraid makes you weaker, standing tall and fighting for something makes you stronger." he said slowly.
Osiris had calmed himself down by listening to the slow beat of Dev's heart. "Alright… but how? How did you learn? I used to be so strong, not afraid of anything, but I've lost that. I don't know how to regain that ability…" He whimpered while brushing his hand through Dev's hair. "How do I not show fear again?"
"find something to be strong for…some thing to protect. Put that first, the only thing that should come to your mind is protecting it, not fear for yourself, or it, but doing everything in your power to protect it." he sighed looking at Osiris. "just find that one thing and it should help"
Osiris turned onto his back, looking up at the ceiling. “That one thing worth protecting is you. I don’t want you to die and I won’t let it happen. You’re staying with me for eternity, got it.” He ruffled Dev’s hair. He knew the boy got it. Demons couldn’t die like mortals do anyway. “You are that one thing and I will protect you from…” He paused. “Him.” He hissed.
Devon smiled, "So do you feel better now?" he laid his head on Osiris' chest.
Osiris played with Dev's hair. He liked how soft it was. You wouldn't know that by looking at him. "I do feel better. Thank you, buttercup. Should we go tell the others, or leave it for now?" He inquired. Osiris didn't want to get out of bed, but he felt it might be important that everyone knew the issue at hand.
Devon shrugged, "Its up to you Osie, you are the one with the info. I am just your support" he kissed the hellhound lightly.
Osiris held Devon in his arms. He knew it was best to warn the others. Everyone could feel the cold darkness, but he knew what he learned in his drea. "I think I should." His face was red from the kiss. "It would benifit everyone…especially cuz. He'll be dead if I don't say anything."
(Ah, that sucks. Feel better soon!)
Lis nods slowly. "Okay. . ."
She looks aound, eyes wide with fear.
"No. . . not again, please. . ." she whispers, curling in on herself and clutcjing at her temples. "Make it stop, make it stop. . ."
Seriph nods, then pauses. What. . .?
The he looks into the forest. A patch of darkness seemed darker than everything else.
(Thank you)
Bane wiped the rest of the tears away. "You'll be okay, Lis. I promise." He hugged her closer, but he could notice a dark presence. Something in his mind echoed, You won't be. Such a dark force spoke to him, he didn't know what to do. He was aware of whom it was and what it was. Bane was stunned, frozen at most. He couldn't peel his eyes away from the forest. A pair of red eyes glared at him, a chill running down his spine. No! Not again. Doesn't this demon ever learn to stop!? He was outraged rather than scared. He wanted everyone to leave them alone. Bane cradled Lis, trying to get composed. "What's wrong, love?" He knew what was wrong, but it didn't hurt to ask. "Make what stop? I can't make anything stop until you tell me what's wrong." He held her head softly, removing her hand, so she didn't dig her nails into her head. He wanted to make a safe bubble for them.
"alright, again, its up to you," he shrugged lightly, a small smile formed from seeing Osie's red face. He sat up, "but if we are going to go tell them, we should really get up and do that"
(😁 )
Lis sighs and nods.
She shrieks when the voice's volume spikes in her head, resisting Bane's attempts to find out what was wrong, wholly incapable of even answering. She resists his hands pulling her hands away from her head, resists as though she were fighting for a grip on life itself.
Images flash through her head: a hot fireplace, a poker for he fireplace, redhot. Her mothers long, thin and scarred hands reaching out for it, bringing the tip of it to rest against her face. . . a knife in her hands, her trying to cut away her own life, even while others watch, unmoving, unfeeling. . .
( so umm.. I'm sick rn.. won't be on for a for days, y'all can continue and Ill try to stalk it but it don't have my phone or anything..)
(My responses are going to be on the short side until I recover :) )
Osiris shook his head. “I want to stay here with you. I don't want to get up and leave the warmth!” His words were scrambled. “I just want to lay here and take in your handsomeness!”
–
Bane tried to keep Lis from hurting herself, from leaping out of his arms. “Lis! Listen to me. Lis!” His vision was teetering in and out. “Lis..” He whispered softly. “What’s wrong?” He was on the brink of tears. He didn’t know what to do. Bane looked up at the vampire with questioning eyes. “What’s wrong with Lis?!” He demanded to know the answer. Lis didn’t start shrieking for no reason.
Devon smiled at Osie, "I get that Os, but if you want to protect the others, you have to warm them" he stood up, stretching as he did so, "we can go back to cuddling later"
(That's fair, lol)
Seriph shakes his head slightly, bemused.
"Not only is the Devil here, we have Agramon, the demon of fear. I'm not affected, being undead, and one of the oldest, at that. However, I'm surprised you aren't having such a strong reaction as Lis is to him. . . it is curious. You are curious. However, the only way to get rid of this fear is to get the demons away. And I'm afraid that will be difficult, even for me."
Osiris looked at Dev. "I'm sure they're already aware." He started to whimper. "Don't leave me!" He shouted. "I don't want you to leave me. We have to stay here or else I'm going to be abandoned!" Osiris was affected by the fear demon, however Bane was not. "Please." Tears accumulated in Osiris' eyes.
–
Bane growled, holding Lis closer to him and trying to comfort her. "Those fucking demons! I hate them with all my heart." He rose, cradling Lis and staring deep into the forest. "I have trained myself for years not to be affected by stupid demons. My cousin has not. He'll be useless. I have also felt fear to the point where it broke me. My anger is what controls me—not my goddamn fear!" He paused. "My father used a fear tactic, and it destroyed me." He gathered himself. "Yes, I was afraid Lis might slip away a second time, but that was in my weakest state. In my strongest state, I can block out any fear! Any demon!" Bane gave Lis to Seriph and ran his fingers through her hair. "Take good care of her. If you want to help… Put her somewhere safe. Although, I think Devon is the only helpful one here. Demons aren't affected by other demons." He gave Lis a soft smile and turned his attention to the forest. Bane prepared his best weapon and pulled out a vial of holy water. He knew Lis had something helpful on her person.
Devon sighed, "Osie, I have a feeling I could help the others with this, but I don't want to leave you…I won't abandon you. I promise" He ruffled Osiris' hair, "but if I can help I will, I don't want anyone getting hurt"
Osiris clung to Dev. "Alright… Go help them, buttercup." He tried to ignore the fearful thoughts in his mind. "You—you can leave me to help them." He gave Dev a tight hug. "But please come back… Come back when it's over. Don't just disappear out of the blue." He let out a series of whines.
Devon smiled softly, kissing Osiris lightly, "I promise to come back, I won't disappear" he smiled softly, walking out of the room and then appearing beside Bane.
(I am out until monday, TC guys)
