Naize glares. its easier to bare then risk not defending myself…
Bane picked Naize back up and scratched her behind the ears. "I'm sorry, Naize. I didn't know it caused you so much pain to shift." He fell back in line to match the stride of one limping Lis. "We'll get you lots of food. Do you think Devon can eat?" He tilted his head. He hadn't seen him eat anything in the past few days.
Lis sighs. "Really, Naize. We'll protect you. Me and Bane and Dev."
She purposefully excludes June from the list, not knowing or caring all too much. She knows that the three of them are more than enough.
Lis glares at Bane. "I'm fine. I can walk faster."
To prove her point, she resumes her usual loping gait, ignoring the pain in her leg. "And I'm not sure. He did say he collects energy from his surroundings."
Bane let out an excited yip. "Yep! We'll protect you." He caught up to Lis, who had left him behind. "I'm sorry, Lis. I just don't want you to strain yourself while walking." Bane looked around to glance at the trees that blended into the city. "Maybe that's just how to get his energy. Not by food, but his surroundings." He shrugged.
Lis sighs. "It's fine. . . but I'm not used to having people worried about me. My daughter. . . she moved away a long time ago. And as for my deadbeat ex-husband -"
She pauses. "Nah, I'm not used to being worried about. It's just been me, myself and I for a long time."
She stops when they reach the diner, opening the door.
"Sorry, had to deal with a situation at home." she says to the cook, who shrugs and hands over the wine and food.
"Can I also get a plate of bacon for Naize here?"
The cook laughs and complies.
Bane tilted his head. "You have a daughter?! And had a husband. You must be as old as the hills." He giggled to himself and then realized what he said. "I didn't mean that in a mean way, Sorry. It's just very surprising. Well not really. I mean, take my dad who has been around for ages—You know what, I think I will stop talking." He took a deep breath. "But yes, I worry about people I care for."
Naizes tail went berzerk at the thought of bacon. It was always an amazing taste
Lis laughs. "Yes, I have a daughter. Her name is Noelle."
She shrugs. "It's the truth. Well, as old as the mountains, but they're just bigger hills."
She leans against Bane. "I'm glad you care. It's a nice feeling, knowing I have someone watching my back."
Bane shook his head. "At least you do look like you're as old as the mountains—that sounds mean again. But my point is, live like you are young." He stabilized himself to support Lis and hold Naize. "Of course I care. Always will. I will always be watching your back." He gave a warm smile.
Naize jumped out of his arms, circling the cook's feet happily as she yowled for the bacon to be put down.
Lis smirks. "I do live like I'm young. Look where we're at right now."
She sighs. "Thank you. . ."
The cook comes back out of the kitchen, setting the bacon down, laughing.
"That cat seems very human." he says, an intelligent look flashing over his features for a second.
"Yeah, she is." Lis replies, chuckling.
The cook laughs some more, then heads back to the kitchen.
(how do I yeet back in?)
Naize sat and are happily, for the moment ignoring the wounds
( he could have followed them)
Bane shifted his weight. “I didn’t mean to say it like you don’t but—” He shrugged. “I will always have your back. 100%.” He smiled and looked at Naize. “You silly kitty. You’re going to choke if you devour that too quickly. Well— I can’t say much because I literally swallow my food— but that is beside the point!”
Naize stopped eating for a moment before going right back to eating
Devon appeared beside Bane, not saying anything.
Bane flinched. “Oh hi, Devon, how's it going?” He pats Devon on the shoulder. “Do you eat? Would you like food? I know that sounds rude, but I've never seen you eat anything—so I'm just curious.” Curious ended on a high note. He wanted to know if he consumed food or just energy.
Lis chuckles. "Making you uncomfortable now?"
She smiles. "I know. I'll always have yours."
"Yeah, you'll get a stomachache if you don't choke." she says, kneeling next to Naize.
She looks over at Dev. "Oh, hey."
Naize eventually stopped, scooting the plate to Devon
"I do eat…I just don't eat certain things…I need to consume energy as a life force…not as energy" he muttered, looking at the floor.
June was off somewhere, doing something that would probably cause problems for the group.
(can she be the antagonist?)
(shrug)
(That would be fun, so yes!)
(I don’t mind. I think it would be interesting)
“What—pft—I’m not uncomfortable. I’m just as comfortable as a Hellhound can be. Very—very comfortable. I’m living my best comfortable life.” Bane’s manner of speaking was awkward. “That’s beside the point! I’m just hungry and want this thing out of my neck!” He started to get testy.
He looked at Dev. “That’s a good difference to know.” He still had irritation in his voice but wasn’t directed toward him. “Do you want something to eat?”
(yay! .. rip her original self that is sweet and annoying)
Naize jumped into banes lap and curled up, purring happily
"um…what is there to eat?" he muttered, stepping away from Bane slightly.
June was in a dark cave, plotting. Doing evil demon stuff.
Bane caught Naize before she could jump up on him. “Naize, I’m standing. You can’t lay in the lap of a standing person.” He squeezed the cat tight because of his irritation. He pets her behind the ears. “I have no idea what they have here food-wise.” He shook his head. “I’ve never been in a—what did Lis call it? A restaurant before in my life.”
(wholesale thought he was sitting xD)
Naize bopped his nose, her toe beans cold on his nose
