Alpha male bachelor, scared of commitment, flits from woman to woman until – he finds a girl who is so genuine and lovely that he just might actually fall in love.

I know I’m having trouble responding to our other RP but this sounds fun, may I?

Nope! Not at all! Do you have a character template or should I make one or are we just jumping in?

Okay, so she’s a lawyer, right? Specifically with criminals if I’m reading that correctly? So what if my character was someone she was defending? Or perhaps investigating?

@emilyevewrites group

Indeed she is. Oooh, that would be a good idea! He tries to flirt with her, and she doesn't take any of his shit at first, but she slowly begins to fall for him too?

Like, I’m thinking this con man type, a shady kinda guy that don’t play by your mama’s rules, and maybe she’s looking into him or representing him in some high profile legal case?

Ooh maybe?

But also because I am me he’s gonna be the weird little girl to sleazy car salesman pipeline type character that is pretty overtly adhd and needs some help in life more than just getting out of trouble with the law?

Cause the idea is he is the kind of character who is used to getting any woman he wants and always getting his way.

Yeah! But also, was kinda thinking sleazy dumb asshole with a secret heart of gold?

Anna strolled through the park on her way to work. The case she had been briefed on yesterday seemed to be exponentially difficult, and whenever she had a hard case, she preferred to take the longer, scenic route to clear everything from her mind but the client's details. Her heels clicked as she strode through the park, passing by the fountain. She sighed and tucked her honey-colored hair behind her ear before opening the door and entering the building and heading to her office.

"Anna," Nathan called as he heard her pass his office.

She stopped and backtracked her steps for a moment. "Yes?"

"You have a client waiting in your office. I knew you'd be here soon, so I figured I'd just let him in for you."

Anna nodded her appreciation briefly. "Alright. Thank you, Nathan." She continued down the hall and pulled open the door to her office. "Hello, sir," she greeted, hanging her coat on the hanger briefly and smoothing her dress to take a seat behind her desk.

Elias Lane was a tricky case, that was for sure. Casino owner and longtime scammer now under suspicion for murder, a murder he hadn’t committed of course, but he was quite an interesting figure nonetheless. He had the right motive, a cop threatening to expose his whole operation murdered in a hotel room. He’d been released on suspiciously light bail that his lithe, tricky fingers barely allowed the transaction money to fly through, as if being less of a scrooge would kill him more than life in prison would. His sea green eyes glittered and danced around the room as he avoided the gaze of the woman who had just entered, greasy straight black hair slicked back with too much pomade giving him the image of a pale, malnourished sewer rat. A sewer rat in a rat trap just beginning to close in.

“Let’s keep this quick, babydoll. I want outta here, you want me outta your hair. Let’s come to an agreement shall we?” he asked, rubbing his hands together anxiously.

Anna straightened and blinked quickly. "Uhm… alright…" she muttered, opening the file Nathan had already put on her desk. "Mr… Lane? It says here you've been arrested for suspicion of murder and were released with a bail fine that was paid immediately… They're still going through with your trial?" Anna frowned in confusion as she flipped through the papers. Apparently, Nathan had done some more work without her knowledge. Typical. "Yes, the trial will be in a week. We need to find evidence and have a plausible cause to prove your innocence before them… and after I receive the transcript from your interrogation with the detectives, it should be a bit easier…"

“Well, you won’t find anything on me. I’m a con man, not a murderer. I’ll admit to that much.” he said. “And call me Elias.” he added, smiling in a way that was probably supposed to be charming. “So how’s this whole ‘court’ thing gonna work? I’m pleading innocent, obviously, the detectives beat the hell outta me but I wouldn’t confess to anything.”
