Elijah awakens from deep within his own thoughts. "What'd I miss?"
Elijah awakens from deep within his own thoughts. "What'd I miss?"
"Confusing stuff," Gunslinger says.
Elijah furrows his eyebrows. Everyone here seemed nice, but he needed to be out there looking for Charli. Maybe Ollie could help him. "Hey, fam, where'd Ollie go?"
Angelo sighed. "I didn't know we were enemies."
Ollie hurried back, shifting into a kinkajou to run faster, then shifted back once he arrived. "Those chicks are crazy!!" He huffed, pointing in teh direction he came. "Anyways, who said my name?"
Hope, Love and Faith all trail after Ollie, then their jaws hit the ground when they see Angelo. "Well hello!"
Sadie rolls her eyes at them, then turns back to Angelo. "I didn't know either, until I saw your form."
Angelo chuckles, then nervously looks up at the girls. "Uh… h-hi?" He stammered nervously, standing up.
Faith steps forward. "What is your name?"
Angelo cleared his throat, crossing his arms as his tilted his head to the side. "Angelo. Angelo Lobo. And you?"
"I'm Faith." Faith says.
Hope steps forward. "I'm Hope."
"And I'm Love." Love grins.
"We're identical triplets." they say in unison.
Angelo chuckled, nodding. "I can see that! Very cool." He dug in his satchel, bringing out three small precious stones. "I found these a while back. I don't need 'em, if you want them."
The triplets look at the stones: all exactly the same. They each take one, then curtsy to Angelo.
"Thank you for the gift." they murmur.
Angelo chuckled at their synchrony, nodding. "Its no problem, hope faith and love." He laughed, tilting his head. "Where do you come from?"
The triplets laugh. "You think our synchrony is weird but funny. And it is. But it has taken a long time to perfect."
They start dancing in unison, giggling.
Angelo pursed his lips, a bit unsettled as he turned to look at the others. "Ah… fun." He mumbled, clearing his throat.
The triplets notice his awkwardness, and laugh. "Yup."
Sadie is just startled by all of this.
Angelo turned back to Sadie, then held a hand to his chin. "I don't think I ever caught what you…are, exactly."
Sadie looks startled. "Half Shade, half human."
Angelo nodded, looking down at the word shade. "So… that is why we are supposed to be… enemies?"
"I'm still confused by all this," Gunslinger says. She turns to Sadie. "How are you half shade? Aren't shades dead people or like literal shadows?"
Sadie shrugs. "Shades from my world are mostly corporeal, and my mother was a powerful Shade. And both of those are true for the lesser Shades."
Elijah snaps his fingers. “A shade! Yes that’s what I need!”
Sadie looks at Elijah. "Why would you need a Shade?"
Elijah kicks himself. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid. He pulls himself together and plays it cool. “Why, I’m on a quest, dearest.” Winks. “Didn’t you know?”
Sadie looks skeptical. "Not buying that."
Elijah is taken aback. The last person to see past his charm had been Charli. “Well, it’s close to the truth at least.” Raises an eyebrow.
Sadie chuckles. "How close is 'close enough?'"
Ollie tilted his head. "Whad'ya need her for? I can do whatever she can… probably." He grumbled, crossing his arms.
Angelo raised an eyebrow. "A quest?" He turned to Sadie. "A… fake quest? wuh-huh?"
Elijah drags a hand over his face. “Ohhh brother…” He pauses. “It’s a long story. Maybe we should go somewhere a bit more private?”
Gunslinger kind of stands to the side, absentmindedly digging into te ground with her heel. Number Two again, I guess. Again and always. Some things never change.
Ollie shuffled, unsure of who Elijah was talking to but definitely not wanting it to be shade
Angelo stepped back, joining gunslinger and clearing his throat. "I'm so confused…. damn, I don't think we've talked much, huh?"
