Finn chose to stay quiet, watching their interaction with a small smile. She shifted again in her bed, clearing her throat slightly as she leaned back. “Y-yeah. I’m… I’m glad you’re here though.” She murmured timidly
O'Hara's eyes softened, but she showed no other visible emotional reaction. "Jacks, I've got this one. Go help Cruz, the sexist bastard. I swear, he'd better have a bloody good apology."
Jackie smirked at her friend's casual language and left.
With a sigh, O'Hara looked back down at Finn. "I see you got my note," she remarked casually.
Finn locked back down, her face returning to the same crimson hue as earlier as she fiddled with the note in her hands. “Yeah…” she smiled, brushing her hair back
(Okay, so can we just forget about the pain in her leg lol)
"Your scans came back. Everything looks good," O'Hara remarked. "You're very lucky." She finished reading the files and shut the folder. Her eyes made direct contact with Finn's, and she arched her eyebrows. "Is that why you were blushing like a madwoman the entire time?" she questioned knowingly.
(Yeah lmao)
Finn nodded, sighing with relief at the good news. She didn’t know what she would do if she was seriously injured.
She turned flush again, toying with the blankets as she shrugged gently. “Y-yeah… maybe.”
"I'll have Jackie finish up your paperwork and release you officially," O'Hara said formally. Her eyes darted to the curtain, making sure no one would come in before she bent down and leaned toward Finn's face. She placed her lips directly beside Finn's ear, knowing with satisfaction that it would make the girl squirm, and murmured. "Red Owl bar on the corner of Fairway. 7 o'clock. Don't be late." She drew back and slipped out of the curtain.
Finn gulped, the feeling of O'Hara's lips so close making her shiver, turning her red. She nodded, smiling softly as she watched the woman disappear. "Goddamn…" She murmured, already nervous.
"Jacks, Bed 4 needs to be released," O'Hara called out as she strode by the nurse's station.
"On it!" Jackie replied, looking eager to get out of a conversation with Zoey she'd gotten trapped in. How? She had no clue. She made her way to Bed 4 and pulled the curtain back the entire way. "Alright, honey, time to get you out of here."
Finn beamed, sitting up as she readjusted herself. "Thank you. So much." A phrase she said to all healthcare workers, really, but this time it felt a lot more genuine. It had a whole new meaning. "Do I need to do anything?" She timidly asked
Jackie shook her head and took down the IV. "Nope. O'Hara actually took care of everything for you. You just get to leave. Do you need help up?" she asked.
Finn nodded, a bit relieved. She shook her head, then attempted to stand up, the morphine winning this time. She stumbled over to the bed, catching herself before she could fall. "Um… that m-maybe wasn't a good idea." She muttered, red faced
Jackie quickly moved to support her. "Easy," she said. "O'Hara lowered your morphine dose on the last administer, so the effects shouldn't be too bad. Just give it about fifteen minutes now that you're off of it. If you want to sit in the waiting room, that's fine, or you could wait here, then leave when you're ready."
(Okay, so should we time skip soon so Finn can meet O'Hara at the bar?)
(Yeah that works!)
Finn took a deep breath, checking the name of the bar one last time before she decided to actually step inside. Her stomach churned, both with the soreness from the accident, and the anticipation of the incredibly attractive woman she was waiting to meet. She found a spot at the bar, drumming her fingers on the countertop as she desperately looked around for a familiar face
O'Hara was across the room, chatting amicably with a small group of people and a drink already in her hands. She made a witty joke, and they all laughed while she took a sip to down the rest of her drink. Her eyes pulled to the door when it opened, and someone familiar headed to the bar and had a seat.
Seeing Finn walk in, she perked up considerably. In all honesty, even though Finn technically had been the one to ask her out, O'Hara wasn't sure if she would show up one such short and sudden notice. With several polite words, O'Hara excused herself from the group she was with and strode over to the bar. She was wearing a much different outfit than she had worn to work. Aside from loosing the doctor's coat, this was much more revealing ensemble with a loose purple blouse, black dress pants, and of course, a pair of Manolos in a sharp white color. Her hair hung in new curls around her face and head, and makeup had been touched up too, so she looked like a goddess among mortals.
"Finn!" she called as she got closer. "You're here!"
Finn perked up at the unmistakable music, smiling at the sound of O'Hara's voice. She honeslty didn't know if it was going to work, or if it was just another game countless girls had made her play. But this woman… she was incredibly genuine. Even though she had a posh air about her, and a slightly superior mindset, she made Finn feel like she was truly cared about. And hell, they had only known each other for about a day.
Finn waved cautiously, blushing at the sight of O'Hara's outfit. Finn herself had only worn an old, slightly large rolling stones t-shirt, with ripped jeans that clung closely to her curvy hips. She felt quite underdressed, and quite out of place.
"hey!' She beamed, regardless of her clothing choice, though it still pestered the back of her mind. "Yeah, and uh… you're here too!" She chuckled, nervously pulling a strand of dark hair behind her ear
"Indeed, I am," O'Hara purred, her voice smooth thanks to already being a glass deep in alcohol. She tossed a bit of her hair over her shoulder and gave Finn an up-and-down observation. As she did so, her eyes couldn't help but linger on Finn's hips which were emphasized by the jeans she wore. "You look marvelous," O'Hara concluded, her eyes telling Finn that the remark was genuine.
She easily slipped onto the stool beside Finn, her feet still resting firmly on the ground thanks to her long legs, and set her glass down on the counter. The bartender was over in an instant, and O'Hara addressed him immediately. "I'll have another, please, along with one of whatever my friend here would like." She looked at Finn kindly, nodding her head towards the bartender to indicate she should order.
(Bump :))
Finn felt herself blush again, and attempted to hide it by tucking some stray hair behind her ear. The way O'Hara spoke was mesmerizing, and she almost forgot where she was before the woman spoke again.
"Oh uh… thanks. I didn't really know what to wear, and I threw on something and I should have took more time to look better-" She cut herself off, looking back at O'Hara's elegant composure. "You look absolutely stunning." She said with a faint smile, meaning every word and more.
Finn looked up at the bartender clearing her throat as she thought for a moment. "Uh… the uh… the same, please." She stuttered, blushing as she looked back down at the counter. How is she so good at this?
O'Hara clicked her tongue against her teeth and nodded thoughtfully at Finn. "Nonsense," she assured the girl warmly. "You look fine. If anything, I'm a bit too dressed up." She tugged on her purple blouse for effect, casually letting the neckline of her top dip down a bit extra to expose more skin on her chest.
After Finn ordered, O'Hara nodded to the bartender. "On with it then, mate, thank you." Once he was gone to prepare their drinks, O'Hara sighed, figuring she might as well let Finn know. "Pardon me for how I may act the rest of the night. Today is my birthday, and I'd rather like to forget that it is. So I drink."
Finn swallowed hard, blushing slightly as she tried her hardest to keep her eyes off O’Hara’s cleavage… which was a battle she was not winning.
At the doctor’s mention of her birthday, Finn smiled, chuckling softly. “I’d say that’s a pretty good excuse. How old are you?” She asked, quickly turning red.
O'Hara lifted her chin in the air and inhaled slowly. She obviously noted Finn's lowered gaze, but she didn't say anything about it. Quite frankly, she was used to people staring, and at this point, she was well past caring about it.
She pressed her lips together, almost creating the illusion that she wasn't going to answer before she popped them and breathed a quiet laugh. "Why do you want to know?" she teased, leaning forward a bit as she spoke. Her eyes flashed mischievously.
Finn fidgeted her fingers and looked down while O'Hara remained silent, feeling awfully ashamed at herself for even asking. The woman obviously didn't seem like the type to be confident about her age. But, she let out a sigh once O'Hara responded, smiling just slightly as she shrugged a bit, the shirt slipping off her shoulder.
"Just… curious. I guess."
O'Hara's gaze went to Finn's shoulder a bit too quickly than she wanted it to. Still, she admired the open skin for a moment and met Finn's eyes again. Finn's question was fair and especially valid as it was only their first– She stopped herself from finishing that thought. Date? This was a date. Yes, O'Hara thought decidedly. This is a date. And first dates were all about getting to know the other. After a heartbeat, she leaned closer to Finn and murmured out a number: "Thirty-four."
Finn looked away for a moment, fixing her shirt and pulling it up slightly. Not that there was anything of interest under there anyways. She smiled gently, chuckling a bit as she shook her head. "Damn! You're young!" She cheered with a quiet tone matching O'Hara's. "I mean, I'm thirty. We're not too much apart…"
O'Hara laughed. She brushed her hair over her shoulder casually. "Well, I'm not as young as I once was, but I appreciate that. Thirty isn't a bad age at all." Her eyes studied Finn's face intently.
"Your drinks, ladies," the bartender said, putting their drinks down. "Do you have a form of payment?"
O'Hara took the glass and immediately started sipping from it, only stopping to murmur, "On my tab."
Finn let her hazel eyes rest on O'Hara's mocha brown's for a moment, then blushed and tapped her fingers on the counter. "You're absolutely beautiful. N-not to say you shouldn't be, I mean I know thirty four isnt old either, but I-" She blushed harder, letting the sentence die with the sentiment as she took a sip of the drink. Tab? Well, I guess she is a doctor, money shouldn't be much of a problem
O'Hara's eyes held Finn's and she couldn't help but notice how their hazel color was the most unique color she'd ever seen. "Well, thank you," she purred. "Most of the people I meet aren't as forward as you are, darling. I don't like to think that I'm too old, but I've been around the block a few times. In a nicer car than most people, of course." She winked and took a long swallow of her drink, practically whipping her head back to get the liquid down as fast as she could. "Anyway, how was your release? From All Saints. It didn't take too long, did it?"
Finn blushed even more, her mind reeling at the very faint idea that she even said what had came out of her mouth. She chuckled slightly at O’Hara’s light joke, following suit and draining half of her drink in a single swallow. She tenderly looked up to watch O’Hara quickly down the liquid, then shrugged a bit.
“Oh it was good. The paperwork wasn’t too hard and uh… my insurance didn’t really sass me this time.” She laughed, watching the way he doctor moved
O'Hara chuckled softly, but when she finished the sentence that followed was blunt and serious. "If you can't afford it, please tell me." The words were few, but her tone implied more. She raised her drink to her lips and took another hefty swallow to drain the glass. "I mean that."
