A deafening sound. Unimaginable pain. Bright lights. Her totalled car being dragged away as her own totalled body was placed on a stretcher.
Flashes of memory were the only things Finn could remember, and she couldn't exactly piece them together. At least not yet.
She didn't want to open her eyes, trying to work with the things she had already saw.
I was going to Brenna's. Yeah… and then… God, what the hell happened?

The stretcher with a girl on it was wheeled into a room almost directly inside the trauma center. A nurse with a cropped haircut moved to help the emergency responders as they lined the stretcher up with the bed. Trailing them, Eleanor O'Hara buttoned up her white coat so she didn't get any blood on her expensive clothes underneath. Her heels clicked impressively on the tile floor as she made her way into the room and beside the bed.

"On my count," she declared, her British accent making her words seem more regal than they really were. She reached across the bed to aid in the transfer and counted: "One, two, three." The team fluidly pulled the girl from the gurney onto the bed, and quickly, Eleanor began to work. "Does she have a name?" she asked, examining her as the nurse buzzed around, setting up IV fluids.

"ID says Elouise Finnigan," one of the EMTs replied.

"Elouise?" O'Hara asked, taking inventory of what she was working with. "Elouise, can you hear me?" Her hand slipped into Elouise's, and she squeezed it to see if she got a response back.

Finn felt herself moving… she was being moved somewhere, and everything seemed so bright.
Someone said her name. A calm, yet commanding voice, and something soft was in her hand. Finn squoze back, feeling like whoever was on the other end was helping her.

O'Hara sighed with relief. "She's still here," she announced to the group. She looked directly down at the girl – Elouise – and spoke again. "Elouise, I'm Dr. O'Hara. You're here at All Saints Hospital. We're going to help you. I just need you to keep breathing for me, alright?" She began to give orders to the nurses. "We're working from the head down. Make sure there's no brain damage. I want an ultrasound to check for internal bleeding and an x-ray to check for broken bones as fast as possible, and can someone call up to cardiology? I'm not sure how much blood she's lost." With her orders done and her nurses working, O'Hara rubbed her thumb comfortingly over the soft skin of Elouise's hand while she used her stethoscope to listen to her heartbeat. "You're going to be okay," she told the girl firmly.

Finn groaned slightly, having come to her senses slowly, and slowly feeling all the pain. Her leg burned, making finn clench her teeth as she gripped the edges of the gurney. lightning bolts shot through her body with each turn of the wheels as she took slow, ragged breaths, squeezing O'Hara's hand even tighter. The feel was strangely comforting, distracting her from everything else going on.

O'Hara inhaled sharply when she felt Elouise grip her hand. "Jacks, get me morphine!" she demanded. The nurse with cropped hair was out the door in a flash. "Hang in there, Elouise. You're going to be alright."

Within minutes, the nurse returned with morphine, and she hooked it up to an IV. Soon, the pain reliever was entering Finn's body to calm her. "There we are," O'Hara remarked. "All set up for you. Now we just need those scans…" She looked down at Elouise's face and shook her head. "I changed my mind. CT Scan and an MRI. Now."

Finn felt the cold stream of the liquid enter her veins as she relaxed, almost immediately feeling the effects. The voices and sounds she heard were blurs, her head still pounding from the crash, but she could make out a female's voice talking about a… scan. She absentmindedly squoze again, tears coming from her tightly closed eyes. Fuck no… No no no…

As they began to wheel Elouise out, O'Hara was about to let go of her hand. Then she squeezed again and harder. "Ooooh," she gasped, initially struggling to keep up with the movement of the bed because of her Manolo Blahnik heels, but she regained herself and hit a steady pace alongside the rest of them. "Hold on, dear," O'Hara assured her giving a gentle squeeze in return. "It's alright. I'm still here." It was uncustomary for doctors to remain with their patients when they left the floor, but O'Hara could practically feel this girl's panic. "Keep the morphine coming," she ordered.

Finn softened, the feel in her hand staying as she was brought to god knows where. The liquid entering her bloodstream made her feel more numb, more tired, and soon enough, she went limp. Barely concious, and unable to feel much, she took slow, deep breaths.
The truck, her car, the fire, her leg, the ambulance, the glass, the blood.
More memories filtered through Finn's scrambled mind, causing a few more tears to erupt gently

O'Hara felt Elouise's grip slacken as the morphine began to take full effect. She happened to glance down at Elouise's face and saw the tears. "It's going to be alright," she whispered. Slowly, knowing she had more trauma patients to deal with, O'Hara let her hand release from Elouise's grip. She stopped in the hall, and the stretcher kept going. She pressed her lips together and turned back toward trauma. The receding clicks of her Manolos signaled her leave.

Finn felt the warmth recede from her hand, knowing now that she was completely alone. As the morphine drifted her off to some faraway place, the words Eleanor spoke softly rang through her ears. "It's going to be alright…" The voice said, making Finn's decent more calming. "Alright…" She whispered back.

When O'Hara returned to the floor, she saw the cropped-haired nurse looking at her with an amused look on her face. O'Hara gave her a once-over as she continued walking to fill out some paperwork. "What?"

"Nothing," Jackie replied. "I've just never seen you that attached to a patient before. Do you know her?"

"I haven't the faintest clue as to who she is," O'Hara replied. Her voice softened as she added, "But she was scared."

Jackie nodded. "She was in a car accident. They happen so suddenly. Tends to scare people."

O'Hara cleared her throat and opened up a manilla file folder. "Do we know if she has any family we can contact?" she asked, casually changing the subject within a subject.

"Not sure yet," Jackie replied. "Zoey's looking into that now."

"Alright then. Her MRI results from the scans will be done in about forty minutes. Her CT scan won't be done until tomorrow, so we're going to keep her overnight. Make sure that when she gets out of her scans, she gets a permanent bed, and come find me when she does." Before Jackie could say anything else to her, O'Hara placed the file in a wire basket on the desktop and walked away.

(If you want, you can timeskip to when Finn wakes up after the scans.)

(Sure!)

Finn slowly regained feeling in her limbs, gasping for air as she became conscious once more. The lights overhead were starkly blinding, and the blankets were daftly itchy. It all made Finn so uncomfortable. "Hello?" She called out fearfully, still not completely understanding the situation

It took about twenty seconds for the clicking of expensive heels to reach Finn's ears. The sounds grew closer and closer until the curtain around her bed was pulled back enough for a woman to enter. She pulled the curtain shut behind her and turned to face her patient with a small smile. "Hello… Elouise, yes?" Her accent emphasized the girl's name elegantly.

Finn heard the familiar clicking, the sound an echo of the day before. She braced herself for human interaction, then froze once the doctor entered.
God, she was beautiful.
"Oh, uh.. yeah." Finn stuttered out, staring at the woman before looking down at the bed. There were IVs in her arm, she noticed; She couldn't move one of her legs, and her head felt like it was going to explode.

The doctor smiled empathetically. "I'm Dr. O'Hara. Not sure how conscious you were yesterday when you were brought in, but I treated you. How are you feeling now?" she asked, going over the file folder she had in her hands, glancing up at Elouise between the lines she read. "Any pain, discomfort?"

Finn coughed, pressing her lips together. "I uh… yeah. Just a bit. Mostly in my uh, right leg and uh… my head. Why am I here?" She blurted, more confused and scared than ever

@emilyevewrites group

O'Hara nodded, jotting something down in the file before shutting it and giving Elouise her full attention. "You were in a car accident," she said softly. O'Hara left the leg under the blankets of the bed and focused on what Elouise had said about her head hurting. She gently touched different spots of Elouise's head. "Let me know where it hurts. Is it a… a pinching pain? Pounding? Is it isolated in one spot or all over?"

Finn's eyes widened as she looked down, wringing her hands together in nervousness.
"Damn… uh.." She stopped once Eleanor had begun to touch her head. She blushed slightly, keeping her eyes on the blankets while the processed the question she was just asked.
"Umm… more of a pounding. In the- In the back." She stumbled out

O'Hara nodded. "Alright. Can you remember anything from yesterday?" she asked, her voice light. "Anything at all." Her hands delicately feeling out where it was that caused her patient pain. Being this close, Elouise was able to smell O'Hara's perfume scented like lavender and honey.

Finn thought for a moment, her brows furrowing as she attempted to recall the events from the previous day. "I was… going to visit a friend. Then a truck came out of nowhere and-" Her breath hitched slightly as tears formed in her eyes. "Shit…" Finn mumbled, only being pulled away from the thoughts by the dreamy waft of O'Hara's scent. She closed her eyes, breathing it in like a drug and blushing a bit more.
