"Can't say, sorry." He still kept the smile up waving at everyone but the person looking at Marius, he hadn't seemed to notice the stranger in the corner. He walked up to the tavern bar. "Hey, I'm here to see H."
The bar tender nodded.
'H'? Marius glanced around again as though expecting to see whoever Tristian was meeting up with. Will you tell me what's going on? This isn't safe.
The bar tender gives marius a glance, "He Can't come."
Tristian huffs. "What do you mean he can't come? He's with Me he should be fine."
The other guy still shakes his head, tristian sighs.
"look i promise i wont be long alright?"
He goes behind the counter into a back room without marius.
Marius huffed and rested his elbows on the counter with his head on his knuckles. You'd better not be. I'm not waiting here forever. With Tristian gone, Marius felt significantly more uneasy. He could feel eyes on him, but tried to ignore them.
"I know i know." He spoke before disapearing behind a door, the bar keep still upfront.
He talked with a male in the backroom, they exchanged greetings and then tristian was given a bag and be nodded. "Thanks."
When Tristian had left, a man approached Marius and started talking to him. Marius glared at him and growled softly, but he couldn't communicate with him for fear of blowing his cover. No one could know that he used magic. The man touched Marius's arm and grabbed his wrist, trying to get him to follow him somewhere while Marius struggled to free himself without using magic. Now would be a good time for you to come back, Tristian! He attempted to reach Tristian, but he wasn't sure if he was out of range or not.
He nodded to the dude, and turned to leave the back area, the door opening infront of him, and him walking out, unfortunately his wig snagged on the door handle wripping it off, he quickly pulled a good over his head, at least the contacts were still in. He looked around the bar for Marius until he spotted them just out the door, and dashed out. "Hey!'
When Tristian came back, the guy held up his hands defensively and ran off, leaving a very disgruntled, stressed Marius behind. Marius moved a bit closer to Tristian, seeming uneasy. Took you long enough… let's get going before something else happens.
"Right, I'm sorry that took so long i didn't expect it too and i thought they would let you in with me."
He looked around the room before setting an arm on marius shoulder, bag in his other hand.
Marius didn't respond for a while, simply continuing to walk. Although he would normally loathe being touched, he allowed Tristian to keep him close, clearly still uneasy on his own. He couldn't rely on his own powers to protect himself for fear of revealing himself. Let's just keep going…
He let out a sigh, walking with Marius as he took one last look back at the tavern, before moving away from it with marius, he was gonna miss his people now that it seemed like it was really going to happen, and he didn't know how to feel about that.
We'll need to get as far away from here as we can before nightfall. Possibly through the night. I can make a light with magic, but since it drains my energy, you may have to carry me. Marius huffed a bit as he walked, weaving between the crowd to get closer to the far exit of the town.
"Yeah well i don't have any issues with carrying you if you need to be carried." He smiled down at marius with his dork smile, as he just kinda shrugged his way through the crowd because of his size.
Marius rolled his eyes, staying right behind Tristian to take advantage of how the taller man was clearing his way through the crowd. Well, I don't need to be carried right now, so we don't need to worry about that at the moment. We'll… 'cross that bridge when we come to it', so to speak.
"Yup- oh bridge!"
Just out of town you could see a bridge crossing over a ravine that seperated boundary lines. It was made out of wood, but it seemed very sturdy, seemed is the key word.
As soon as they went to step on it it's started creaking slightly you could hear the pressure if the boards
Marius sighed heavily, glancing over his shoulder. I meant a metaphorical bridge, but whatever… it doesn't look very trustworthy. It shouldn't be creaking like that. He paused when he took his first step onto it, seeming pretty wary.
"oh I'm sure this bridge is fine though if your scared you can always hold onto me." He smiled at Marius, winking at him.
"we can make it across the bridge problem."
Marius grumbled at the wink and continued forward, his breathing hitching when one of his small feet got caught in a gap between planks. He stopped to carefully free himself, trying to keep his composure. Let's just get across this thing as soon as we can.
He turned around and saw his foot stuck in the gap and went over kneeling down and pulled marius foot out of the gap, and then his knee put too much pressure and the wood broke slightly, "Okay okay, just glad cross and i will meet you there"
Marius nodded hesitantly, watching carefully for every step he made. He didn't want to get caught in between the planks again. He managed to make it across and breathed a sigh of relief upon reaching solid ground.
He pulls his knee put of the bridge, grumbling as he makes his way across and then makes it's onto stable ground after his foot getting a few more times.
"that bridge needs to be replaced."
Yeah… I don't like things that are unstable like that. Marius paused a moment before continuing onward, seeming pretty uneasy. We've still got a ways to go. I'm sure they've noticed we're gone by now.
"Yeah .." he stopped slightly, turning to look back at where they came from.
"i usually get caught right about now, and they drag me back to the castle."
He shook his head and turned back to face Marius b
Well, let's pick up the pace, then. We don't want to get caught, especially not so quickly. Marius started walking a little bit faster, glancing over his shoulder to make sure they weren't being followed.
"Yeah, let's go ahead and go."
He took one last look at the bridge and let out a soft sigh under his breath before going to follow Marius, not finding it hard to keep up with him.
I haven't been out here before, so unfortunately I don't know of any places that we could stay for the night. It would be better to travel through the night until we reach a town. Marius sighed softly and looked around warily.
He nodded, "Yeah, there's a town about a hour or two walk from here, so we could stop there for the night." He kept looking back towards where they came from.
Marius nodded a bit, not bothering to look back like Tristian was. He already looked very tired, but he kept going regardless. However, being tired mixed with his small stature meant he wasn't going very fast.
"You getting tired?"
He noticed the pace in which Marius was walking, he walked right beside him speeding to walk backward infront of marius.
"want me to carry you?"
