(Gunna post this here too, yall might have seen it in the Limited rp section)

I'm in the mood for yet another rp and one with my dragon boi yet again. I want to develop him a bit more and I'm in the mood for some romance because its covid and I'm still quarantined and touch starved XDXD.

Major things to note in this world and rp:

There are magical/mythical beings living among humans, but not many human's know about them. The mythical/magical governments and the human governments try to keep the two separate. Most like to keep within their respective species anyways. Any mythical/magical creature has to be registered if they want to live among humans and must keep a human appearance. Humans who know the mythical/magical beings exist have to be registered as a potential threat to exposing the mythical/magical beings.
Cole works at a cafe where he'll most likely meet most people. He lives in an apartment nearby, a place given to him by the owner of the cafe, Nancy.

Thats about it! Cole's character template is down below.
You in no way have to have a character profile as long as the one I placed below. I don't expect you to have one that large or that specific. Hell, we can even just jump right in without any character profiles. I'm very open to any thing you would like to do!

Name:

Cole Sparks

Other name(s):

Ignitious - a name he uses to pay respect to his father

Age:

22(+) depending on story-line

Gender:

Male

Race/species:

Dragon changeling/human Hybrid (A halfling)

Blood type:

A+

Sexuality and relationship status:

Currently experimenting, leaning towards Pansexual(and panspecies??? I don't even know what you'd call dating between magical species), and single

Nationality:

American/Western Dragon Kingdom

Family:

Ignitous Sume ~ Father; Dragon Changeling (Deceased) * NOTE: Ignitous's last name was revoked from him when he 'betrayed' the dragon kind by falling in love with a human. *
Alaina "Andreal" Wilcox ~ Mother; Human (Deceased)
Companions:

None unless you count Shihiro (see Shihiro below)

Occupation/rank:

Dominant/Host soul
Elite member of the Council (by inheritance)
Works at a small cafe named the Black Bean Cafe.

Appearance:

Skin color:

Caucasian - pale

Hair color, type and length:

Dark brown, curly, undercut and messy

Eye color:

Stunningly amber

Height:

6’3

Weight:

137lbs

Build:

Lanky, tall, think skinny white boy.

General clothing:

Button-ups, jeans, and the occasional tank-top with a scarf if he’s feeling extra brave. He never wears low-collared shirts without a way to cover/hide his scales.

Other:

Dark red scales adorn his collarbones, shoulder blades, throat and neck, and shoulders. He covers them so as not to scare any humans.
He has narrow facial features and a pointed nose.
He has a strong structure despite being lanky.
He looks much younger than he is.

Powers and abilities?:

Can see through many types of magical camouflage/shield but only through glances and peripherals.
Can communicate with the Lesser soul (Shihiro) bound to him (all Elite dragons are given a Lesser Soul - see bio and Shihiro below.)
Small amounts of fire breath, though one downside of being partial human is he can burn himself with said breath. He has to regulate the fire, however, to avoid throwing his entire body temperature and flame-organs off.
The dragon’s in this universe use a type of spell casting they call Laws. Laws always have a cost and the power varies between species. Usually Elite’s are given more Laws to preform. Cole has that advantage though with his human-hybrid DNA the Laws are much harder to preform.

Physical abilities:

He can throw a punch and he’s stronger than your average human. That’s about it.

Weapon(s) and items?:

None. He owns only a few pairs of clothing and a lot of books on his kind. They’re always kept in a safe, fireproof place, just in case. He doesn’t have much access to dragon knowledge and the few books he has were bought from the beasts in the alleyways, specifically Tix - a blind, furred humanoid creature that lives off the flesh of human. She offers stolen items for dragon scales (they’re high in magical power and price)

Skill(s):

This kid can evade. He’s had to evade magical being and human alike. Both want him dead after finding out what he is.
He’s good at hiding in plain sight as well. Most human’s don’t know the magical beings exist in their world.

Strengths:

Physical. Being partial dragon has its quirks in the physical strength section.

Weaknesses:

Intense heat and intense cold - both make him sluggish and sleepy and ready for a defensive hibernation to protect his dragon biology (its rough for a half human)
His own fire breath can be against him if he doesn’t ‘destress’ the fire organ. AKA, he needs to breath fire else he harms his fire organs.

Personality:

Cole Sparks tends to be quiet but he is never timid. Even in the most intimidating of situations he is able to keep his calm; a side effect of trying to survive being hunted by both sides of his species. He doesn’t like to make friends, as he is ready to move towns at any time he is discovered. Friends make a heavy burden on the heart when left behind. He often acts hostile towards those trying to get close though he doesn’t like to come off as rude.

Likes:

Sweets (especially cheesecakes), Shihiro, reading books about his kind, persistence.

Dislikes:

His own kind, blueberries, dancing (only because he’s bad at it, he’d probably like it if someone showed him what to do)

Bio/backstory:

WIP
Ignitous Sume; powerful, gentle, Elite. He sat among the Council of the Western Kingdom and grew popular among the lower dragons. He provided knowledge and training, and seemed to have it all. And he did. Until he crossed paths with a human that captivated his attention and threw out all learned concepts of how humans were supposed to be.
She was the epitome of grace and beauty, her looks far outshined any dragon he had ever seen. He met her under the guise of a human and only fell harder for the soft-spoken human who shared new fruits and foods and spices that he had never heard about or even seen. She made him complete.
Humans weren’t so bad.
But he couldn’t convince the Council of the same thing. They brought up the stories of old, brought in dragons who had lived through raids and murderings of their clans and families. Ignitous begged them to listen, to let them at least have some contact with the human world. He refrained from telling them about his human love, for fear they would harm her, but he fought for the rights to communicate with the non-magical beings.
He was refused.
Ignitous nearly gave up all hope - until his human lover came to him one day with news that filled him with equal parts pure joy and dread: she was pregnant. It was his child, and it was strange. He confessed to his true species that day, told her all about the life he lived, even showed her his true form. She mourned and shied away from him at first, terrified of the secret he had kept from her. But his gentleness and strength remained true. He promised her a new life, a new world just for them and their child.
But secrets never stay secrets forever, and soon the Council heard of the betrayal.
Cole was born of a dragon father and a human mother, an abomination that should never have been. He defiled the pure blood of the Western Dragon Kingdom and threatened the very existence of dragons everywhere.
Ignitous understood the hardships he and his small family would have to go through, so he turned to his most trusted friend for help: an elderly Eastern dragon named Shihiro Tanake. Shihiro had lived many past lives and had reincarnated so many times he no longer remembered his age or the first name he had ever been given. Ignitous begged Shihiro to create a Bind between him and Cole, to help protect the boy and lead him towards a better future if he were to survive. Shihiro refused at first, but as Ignitous struggled to ward off Elites and protect his human love, Shihiro cane to accept the plea. And so Cole Sparks was given the Laws and title of Elite Dragons, and bound to Shihiro Tanake. (See Explanation for more info on binding)
Shortly after the Binding, Ignitous was killed trying to protect his lover from the Council. The one who killed him was Nyx, a Lesser soul who had killed her Host soul in order to gain their body. Nyx was just as big of an abomination as Cole, but she was granted life and freedom from repercussion as long as she did the Councils bidding. She was their executioner, and she did her job well. She was quick, slick, and enjoyed what she did.
After Ignitous was killed, the human mother fled with her half-breed child and found a nice place in the woods to live. There she cared for her son until he reached the age of eight. Nyx hadn’t bothered them all those years but that wouldn’t last forever. One night Nyx came. She found the small cottage they lived in, and she tore it to shreds. Cole, young and terrified, watched as Nyx and her Lindworm army took away his mother. He tried to follow after them but was stopped by Shihiro, who internally gently led the small boy to another trusted friend of Ignitous’s: an old Sphinx who called herself Nancy.
Nancy lived with the humans, hiding in plain sight. She even owned a cafe that was a popular night stop for those wanting a little less alcohol than what a bar or club would give.
Nancy discussed things over with Shihiro and soon became the one who helped raise Cole. At the age of seventeen, he left to find his own way of life. It didn’t go the way he wanted it to, and Cole ended up being discovered and chased out of multiple towns. By the time he was twenty, he returned to Nancy, where he still works in the little cafe as a waiter. He works alongside a young man named Atlas (I always have an Atlas in my stories/rp’s btw, just a little Easter egg of my writings), who tries to get Cole to open up and have some fun for once in his life. The two end up as friends, though Cole still refuses to tell him where he came from or how Nancy came to be his mother of sorts.

Feats and accomplishments:

He’s managed to stay alive all this time.

Name:

Shihiro Tanake

Age

He’s not even sure himself. Once you’ve been reincarnated a few times you end up forgetting a few things.

Gender:

Changes throughout his many lifetimes. In this current lifetime (and his last one) he is male.

Occupation:

Lesser Soul to Cole Sparks.

Personality:

Shihiro is paranoid. He is persistent in his answer when faced with his own choices. He is often strict and can be rather cunning when faced with those who may harm Cole. Shihiro, though the Lesser Soul, is wiser and has an alarmingly large amount of power. Cole has complete lockdown on him.

Explanation:

The children of Elite dragons are given a guardian to protect them always. These guardians are always ancient dragons who have reincarnated many many times. The guardian gives up their body and soul (and thus their ability to reincarnate), in order to forever guide and help the Elite make the best decisions regarding dragon kind. They do this by binding the soul of the guardian to the Elite, confining two souls to one body. The Host Soul is always the Elite. The Lesser (or Guardian) Soul is always the guardian. It is believed these guardians are the wisest and most suited towards guiding the Elites towards a better future, as they have lived many many eons in many different forms and bodies. Their memories, connection to the Host soul, and power are retained in something called a Bind. A Bind can be anything from a personal item to even an organ on the Host soul. The more important the Bind is to the Host soul, the stronger the connection between Host and Lesser. Cole’s Bind is his right eye. If the Bind is removed from him or destroyed, he will lose Shihiro and their binding will be broken, leaving Cole alone and ruined. Not many dragons survive an Unbinding, where the Bind is removed.

On the days the cafe was especially busy, such as today, Cole felt absolutely miserable. Of course he appreciated the job and adored Nancy to bits but he felt out of place among the human world stuck serving coffees and teas and cakes of all sorts to people who were far better off than him with actual lives and friends.
"Oh hush, Cole. The life you live is not all woe. You are alive. Your bloodline continues." Shihiro chided as Cole prepared a tea that smelled warm and sweet. Cole held back a scoff, but his Lesser soul felt the annoyance anyways. He never could hide anything from the old soul, they were bound after all.
"I know I know…" He huffed. Shihiro didn't answer after that, retreating back to his dormant state to sleep through Cole's shift. The Lesser soul understood when his host needed time alone. Despite his bad mood, Cole served the tea with a warm smile and a soft 'Here's your tea'. The customer wasn't human. He could tell that much from their scent alone.
His head turned to the door when the bell chimed, signaling a new customer. He offered them a small greeting but his amber eyes never left them as he returned to the counter.

@bellcurvebennie

The smell of roasted coffee and fluffy pastries was what drew Lucky towards the café door he was now faced with. For a moment, he simply stood there, worrying at his bottom lip, attention shifting between the café's interior and the sunlit street behind him. Certainly, he could spare a few minutes to grab a coffee, right? His work could wait, and besides, he would need the caffeine, given how late he anticipated working. A crappy cup of $2 coffee wouldn't hurt anything.
As the door swung open to his push and he stepped in, Lucky let a small smile slip onto his face. It smelled even better inside than it did from the outside. He began walking further into the establishment but was stopped by a striking pair of warm eyes staring at him from the other side of the counter. An instant passed, and Lucky did nothing but meet the stare, fixing his own brown eye onto the man. However, had this been a staring contest, Lucky would've lost rather quickly, as he proceeded to avert his gaze with a friendly dip of his head.
"Do you guys have coffee?" Lucky asked dumbly, looking up at the menu hanging on the wall. Of course, they had coffee; They were a café! Why the hell did he ask that? That was ridiculous. Dumbass, he chastised himself, rubbing the skin beneath his eyepatch and, to hide his momentary embarrassment, forcing one of his signature calm grins. "I mean, a light roast?"

@Toxic_Persephone group

Well. This was a strange, new encounter. Cole held the eye contact for what felt like an awkwardly long time. He was almost thankful when the other’s gaze left his, relief and slight annoyance filling his already uncomfortable chest.
Cole had to hold back yet another snort. Coffee. What else would they sell here? Nancy had told him to play nice with the customers so Cole held his tongue. Nancy was scary when upset and he really didn’t want to upset the Sphinx anymore than he already had today.
“Yes we do. Size? Anything to add to it?” Cole asked, taking a moment to size up the brown-eyed being in front of him. He definitely wasn’t fully human. Magic had a certain smell to it that radiated off those who could use it or were around it. Sphinx’s like Nancy smelled sweeter than usual, Selkies like salt and earth, dragons like the metals they lived around, the undead like something spicy and rotting, and so forth. He didn’t always understand what type of magic or mythic being it was, as some scents were completely new and strange to him but, hell, did it interest him to no avail.
As did the one ordering coffee, who’s missing eye and strange smell put about a hundred different questions into his head.

@bellcurvebennie

"Large. And one sugar," Lucky said, entitling himself another quick, casual glance towards the man taking his order. He had to awkwardly crane his neck to get a sufficient view of the other's face, but he convinced himself to investigate further because there was definitely something… off. It had been nagging at him since he'd walked into the café, and only just now was he realizing what it was: The man's eyes. At first, he'd assumed they were just a striking brown, that the warm hue he'd been met with was a trick of the light. But, upon second glance, Lucky was almost certain his eyes were inherently amber.
Running his fingertips over the counter's surface, Lucky spent a moment in what seemed to be deep thought. He stared down at his hand, resting it flat on the counter, and pursed his lips. Because, beyond the eyes, there was something else agitating Lucky about the man. Something he couldn't point to. Nothing about the way he looked or the way he spoke. Just… him? He wasn't entirely sure, until…
Lucky began tapping the base of his palm against the counter, nodding subtly to himself. Yeah, that's probably it. With a gentle, satisfied smile twisting his lips, Lucky drew his hand away from the counter to pass one final, bereft glance over the man. He definitely reminded him of Flamingo.

@Toxic_Persephone group

A soft hum was the reply to the order, Cole grabbing a large cup and nodding. He rang up the order and began the process of making the actual drink. Light roasts weren’t bad to make and with only a single sugar the order remained fairly simple.
He grinned when Shihiro purposely noted that the order was similar to the one Cole usually made for himself on his breaks. He loved the lighter, sweeter coffees.
At some point he registered that the other was stealing glances, but he wasn’t too off-put about it. Having strange colored eyes was a curse upon his existence because people asked questions. And yet he hated contacts and absolutely refused wearing colored ones to appear more human. He already had to wear enough strange items to keep other non-human parts of him hidden. He didn’t want to add another.
“It’s a condition.” He blurted out instinctively to the glances. He was starting to feel self-conscious. “My eyes that is. Doesn’t effect my eyesight but makes them a different color than usual.” The lie was one he had made up to keep questions minimal. It hardly ever worked but it was easier for people to accept that he had something ‘wrong’ with him instead of just being born with the color.
“Everyone gives me looks. I saw you double take.” Cole explained further, setting the coffee on the counter in front of Lucky. “So, anything else for you today?” He asked, throwing in a crooked grin just for show.

@bellcurvebennie

As the man began speaking, Lucky pulled his attention upwards, though remained otherwise unresponsive to his explanation. He'd mostly assumed that they were colored contacts, but knowing that he'd been staring at someone with a condition felt… Well, it didn't feel pretty. As both the coffee and a smile were offered to him, Lucky began chewing on his bottom lip, intentionally staring at the man's mouth in an effort to avoid his eyes.
"Oh, no. That's not it," he said flippantly, waving a hand in front of himself. "You just reminded me of someone I know." It wasn't a complete lie. "But, now that you mention it, your eyes are quite striking. In a good way, of course."
Reaching forward, Lucky wrapped his hands around the coffee, feeling as the drink's warmth seeped into his skin. His gaze rode the circumference of the plastic lid, tracing it over a few times before finally looking up towards the man, nodding at time.
"Yeah, that'll be it. Thank you, very much. And, I'm sorry for staring, if it made you uncomfortable. It would've—" Lucky suddenly paused, hands clenching tighter around his coffee cup. He was relieved that the topic of his own eye hadn't come up, and he really didn't want to mention anything that may draw more attention to the obvious. So, he forced a tight-lipped smile and steadily dipped his head towards the other. "Yeah, thank you."
He slid the appropriate amount of money across the counter, but even after completing the transaction, Lucky didn't yet move away. He wasn't holding up any line, so he continued standing in place, his only actions being the movements of his hands as they held the coffee cup, swirling it around and bringing it to his lips.

@Toxic_Persephone group

In a way, it was a condition. Being the unholy offspring of a mythical being and a human brought far more complications than benefits. He could count his existence a condition of sorts. Right?
Cole leaned against the counter and propped his chin up in his hand, humming softly at the smaller male's explanation. There was a small bit of something like pride that swelled up in his chest at the compliment. Striking… sure he'd heard it before but it always did make him a little happy to be complimented. He really needed some more social interaction.
He waved away the apology nonchalantly and offered the other a sincere smile. "Not at all uncomfortable. Though I can understand, we've probably had at least somewhat similar experiences." Though Cole couldn't say they were exactly similar. He had both eyes. He wasn't about to bring up that fact to the other, however. He didn't want to be rude even if he was slightly annoyed by most people. Besides he was kind of enjoying the small talk with this stranger for some unknown reason. So he took to watched Lucky while he rang up the order and payment details.
"Have you been here before? I've worked here for an awfully long time and I don't think I've seen you in here before. Unless Atlas served you… he's usually a little more memorable even if he is an idiot."

@bellcurvebennie

A small chuckle escaped from Lucky's throat at the man's first remark. He never found many issues when it came to explaining away his permanent injury; For him, the discomfort came from the unwarranted attention it brought. More specifically, the condescension that came with it. People seem to think that losing an eye means you're not able to take care of yourself anymore, which Lucky sees as nothing more than patronizing. And, if there's one thing Lucky hates, it's being patronized.
"Yeah, probably," he said simply, sticking his index finger beneath one of the eyepatch's straps and doing his best to quickly adjust it. "No, I've never been here before. I was just stopping by for a quick pick-me-up," he said, holding the coffee with one hand and lifting it slightly up, as though indicating it. He shifted his weight, and it seemed almost like he was ready to leave before he suddenly said:
"Oh, I should probably introduce— My name's Luke, but most people call me Lucky. It's nice to meet you…" he trailed off, waiting with a smile for the other man's name.

@Toxic_Persephone group

Cole was more bothered by the fact that people asked him about it often enough the topic was sensitive. The newest waitresses and waiters had been warned about asking by Nancy herself, who explained to them his situation. Almost every hire was non-human to some extent. Atlas was probably one of the only human’s, and the only worker who could get away with poking the dragon until he snapped. The thought alone made Cole huff.
At least his sour mood was lightened a little when his question was answered, and he learned Lucky was a new customer.
“Next time you come in here order the cheesecake. It’s a hundred times better than the coffee.” Cole replied, standing up straight when the other moved as if he were leaving. He was pleasantly surprised to hear a name.
“Lucky…” a soft rumble left his chest, a more animalistic sound that came with the whole half beast package. He couldn’t help it. It was like a cats purr that just kinda happened when he was in a good mood.
“It’s nice to meet you too, Lucky. I’m Cole.”

@bellcurvebennie

"Cheesecake," Lucky echoed, as though the word brought with it fond memories. "I don't think I've ever had cheesecake before." Tapping his index finger against his chin, Lucky cast his gaze towards the menu, staring at it briefly before glancing over his shoulder at the exit. At this rate, he was going to be late for work. He brought his arm up, rolling his shirt sleeve back to check his watch, and… He was already late for work. Shit. This is not gonna get me that promotion. Lucky went back to worrying at his bottom lip before finally letting his gaze rest on Cole.
"Y'know, actually," he began slowly, pausing just to wince as he bit down on his lip too hard. "Actually, if it's no problem for you, I could try the cheesecake now? I have nowhere else to be, so…" He shrugged for lack of a better finish. He knew that he really shouldn't be doing this. I mean, he should be at work! Working! And, he couldn't let himself get emotionally attached to Cole. Imagine if something happened to him. He'd probably end up blowing an entire block up!
Lucky forced himself to breathe. Relax. Stop being such a paranoid dumbass. He wouldn't get attached, and even if he did, so what? Cole's just a barista! What kind of danger could he possibly get himself into?
"Right," Lucky muttered aloud, as though in response to someone else, a long breath whistling past his papery lips. He unclenched the fists he didn't realize he was making, and when he finally brought his head up, a forced smile was occupying his face. "Sorry about that. I got distracted thinking about something," he said, rolling his eyes at himself.

@Toxic_Persephone group

Something bright and excited lit up behind Cole’s already fiery eyes but his expression remained calm and collected.
When Lucky once again apologized, Cole shook his head and waved it off once again. “Distraction happens. Now, cheesecake!” He laughed to himself as he bent down to open the display case, humming in thought for a moment.
“Any taste preference? I personally love the raspberry and strawberry ones but lots of people enjoy the chocolate types too.” He glanced up at the other with a stupid, excited smile he hated to admit was reflex at this point.

@bellcurvebennie

Lucky leaned over at the waist to peer into the display case, trying his best to avoid looking at the alight expression having settled on Cole's face. Although, he couldn't avoid the suffocating sensation of a laugh bubbling in his chest.
"You really like cheesecake, huh?" Lucky purred, surveying the cheesecakes on display interestedly, though not with the same elation that seemed to have suddenly taken over Cole. "I mean, I can hardly blame you. Those look pretty good."
Swinging his hips from side to side, Lucky passed his gaze over the cheesecakes one final time, slowly considering every option before finally settling on:
"How about the chocolate one?" He pointed towards a dark brown slice on one of the racks, being mindful to not press his finger against the clean glass.

@Toxic_Persephone group

“Hey, cheesecake is literally the best human creation on this earth and I will gladly die for the cause of cheesecake.” Cole defended, lifting his head triumphantly and hiding the amusement he felt. It was all in good fun.
Cole watched Lucky a little more intently than he had first intended but he couldn’t help himself. He was extremely excited to see what type the other wanted, and thus learn a little more about the tastes of Lucky. Cole was strange that way, though he found it all remarkably interesting.
“Chocolate it is.” He once again rumbled in delight as he grabbed a plate to place the slice onto. Once that was done he offered it to Lucky, noting how much shorter the other seemed in comparison as he straightened himself out.
“I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. If you don’t then it’s free.” This time the amusement on his face gave away his musing.

@bellcurvebennie

Reaching up, Lucky delicately took the plate from Cole's hands, his grip soft against the cold ceramic. He held the cake up to his face, looking at the differently shaded and textured layers. After a sufficient examination of the slice, Lucky, with one hand holding the plate and the other holding a fork, took his first bite of the cheesecake.
Suffice to say, he loved it.
"Wow," he murmured, a smile tugging at the edge of his still-full mouth. He raised his hand holding the fork up to his lips, using it to self-consciously shield his mouth as he finished the bite. "Wow," he repeated, this time far more intelligible. "Either cheesecake is super good, or the person who made this cheesecake is super good. Either way."
In an effort to commend 'the person who made this cheesecake', Lucky tapped his fork against the plate in a pseudo-mimicry of clapping. However, the sound of metal against ceramic was clearly louder and more annoying than Lucky had anticipated, seeing as the noise drew the attention of a few nearby tables, who paused their conversation to stare, most of them rather crossly, at him.
"Oh. Sorry, sorry. Didn't mean to—" By this point, most of the tables had already gone back to their prior conversations "—disturb you all. Right."
Turning back towards Cole, Lucky pulled a dramatic, strained face and muttered a quiet, "Whoops."

@Toxic_Persephone group

Cole snickered at Lucky’s reaction, looking proud of himself. “I told you it was good, didn't I? My word is hardly wrong when it comes to cakes and desserts. I love them so much. Nancy makes the ones here. Don’t know how she does it but she’s good at it.”
Cole was certain it probably involved some weird type of magic or something. Because honestly, you couldn’t get better cheesecake anywhere else. Maybe from some top dollar company but why pay for that when Cole could get it here for free. The amount of leftover desserts he had in his fridge that would have otherwise been thrown out was incredible. Cole didn’t like to waste something as good as cheesecake either. It felt wrong.
He laughed softly at the sound of the fork against the plate with an amused smile. It quickly soured when others turned their gazes towards the pair. Any glares were met with Cole’s scowl. And Cole was pretty sure he was fairly intimidating with his 6’3 frame and eyes full of literal fire. Anything to get the glares and stares to go away.
“Don’t mind anyone. If they feel disturbed they always can leave.” He stretched out his arms and took in a big yawn; his attempt at calming himself down. Excitement lit up the unwanted extra ‘organ’ in his chest and he’d rather not light the place in fire with an accidental sneeze.

@bellcurvebennie

"Yeah, but," Lucky began, setting the plate on a nearby, unoccupied table, "if people leave 'cause I'm being noisy, then isn't that bad for business?" Resting his hands over the tabletop, he slid into one of the chairs, his legs crossed at the ankles. "I don't want this place losing money 'cause some loon started banging silverware together."
After taking a few more bites from the cheesecake, Lucky turned his attention upwards to look at Cole's face. Where before trying to make eye contact had been awkward, what with the stark height difference, now that he was sitting down, the angle at which he had to crane his neck was frankly ridiculous. For the sake of preserving his neck, Lucky lowered his gaze back towards the cheesecake, which he tapped the top of with the fork, creating small indents in the layer.
"You want some?" he offered lamely. "I'm probably not gonna finish it. Not 'cause it's not good, obviously." He placed the fork down on the side of the plate, careful to do so gently to avoid any further disturbance.
