(aka dumb me trying to write a super smart character but can't remember anything important that happened in the story before Rook/Raven showed up. 😖)

She nodded a little. "Ah, of course."
(haha 😂)
“It’s kinda boring when things are quiet like this, isn't it?” she admitted with a chuckle. “Kinda nice though too.”
"Definitely. Hasn't been too much action from Hex, lately." she commented. She didn't know of the connection between Jade and Killian, of course.
“Oh… Yeah, he's been pretty inactive lately.” Jade agreed, nodding slightly as she tried not to give anything away. “I’ve also noticed that Harbinger hasn't been in the news much either.” she deflected.
"Either of them. It's a bit odd."
“More so for Harbinger. I swear that guy lives to see himself on camera.” she said, rolling her eyes. “Hex on the other hand… He's a bit more, I guess you could say private. Doesn't mind his crimes getting reported but doesn't make much effort to be seen during it.” she added with a shrug.
Raven nodded a bit. "Hex is dramatic, though. For all he doesn't care, when you fight him he's…I supposed theatrical might be the best choice." she laughed quietly. "I saw the broadcast for that fight between you where he covered you in glitter."
“Yes, he is. He's a real ham when he wants to be.” she nodded, blushing at the reminder. “Yeah… It could have been worse though. At least he didn't try to run away or disappear from the scene. He stayed and fought when I showed up.” she pointed out.
She nodded again. "True. His abilities are slippery, really." she shrugged. "The amount of things he could do with them, but he sticks to mostly just being a public nuisance is…astounding." she laughed again.
Jade bit her lip slightly as she nodded, trying to appear thoughtful instead of like she was about to laugh. “He is slippery but, personally, I don't mind that he sticks to those kind of crimes. It helps make him seem more manageable as a villain instead of a serious problem that would require more heroes to deal with.” she pointed out.
"Well yeah, I'm not saying it's a bad thing that he doesn't go around on murder sprees." she said, reaching up to take her hair out of the bun it was in. "It's just funny, that he has as much power as he does, but chooses to utilize it in robberies and theatrical displays of pure nonsense."
“I guess so. Robberies I can handle and I'm sure he has his reasons for not escalating his crimes but I have to admit, he's never seemed like the kind of person who would just murder someone.” she shrugged. With maybe one exception… possibly two, but I'm not sure about either of them.
"True." she said softly.
“Though, I have to admit, I wish I knew what was going on in his head sometimes. It would make things much easier.”
She laughed. "It would make all of our jobs easier, if we knew what the bad guys were thinking."
Jade chuckled a little and nodded, glad that Raven had taken her comment that way even though that wasn't all that she meant. "Yeah… Know any telepaths? Maybe we could recruit them." she teased.
She shook her head. "Nah. Sadly."
"Me neither." she sighed with a little smile. "Oh, well. We still do pretty good as we are anyway."
"Of course we do."
She laughed a little and finished cleaning up the groceries. “Thanks again for helping me get all of this in. I hadn't expected to get this much today.”
"Yeah, no problem. I think it's funny, too, that I was the one that helped you."
“Yeah. It is kinda ironic.” she smiled, nodding a little. “But I am glad this worked out that way.”
"Yeah." she laughed a little bit.
Jade sighed a little and nodded with a small smile as she tried to think of something else that they could talk about.
Raven looked over at the jetpack plans again. "So, planning to fly?"
“Possibly.” she shrugged, moving to clean up those papers before she forgot again. “I mostly just like the idea of being prepared, even though this might not be ready for another year.” she admitted with a chuckle.
She laughed. "Ah, I see."
“Yeah. This is just one of about a dozen ideas that I get.” she blushed. “Don’t always get around to them though. Some of them just aren't plausible yet.”
