He nodded a little bit, still holding onto her.
Raven did other workouts, but didn't run regularly.
He nodded a little bit, still holding onto her.
Raven did other workouts, but didn't run regularly.
Jade smiled softly at him, accepting that it was still too much for him right now, and lightly kissed his forehead.
Sophie let out a practiced deep breath, dodging some oncoming traffic before retaking her place next to Raven.
He gave her a faint smile.
Raven kept doing her best to keep up, though she knew she probably wouldn't be able to go this pace for the return trip.
She kissed his cheek again before leaning against his side.
If Raven asked, or said anything, Sophie would have been willing to slow down.
He smiled, still holding onto her.
She didn't say anything yet, still just running.
She smiled softly, happy to be held by him. She was still confused why he didn't like it when she told him how she felt.
Sophie was happy to continue running. It was good exercise and it felt good… Though she would always prefer swimming if she had the opportunity.
To be honest, he wasn't sure he could articulate why it bothered him. It just did.
She just did her best to keep up with Sophie.
Be that as it may, she still loved him and was very happy that he considered her his partner. The thought alone made her heart flutter.
Sophie glanced back again and gestured ahead of them. “There’s a bench not too far from here. We can take a rest if you need to.”
He kissed the top of her head.
"That would be great." she replied, voice a bit gasping.
She smiled at that. “I… I wish that there was a way to make sure that I would be the only hero that you fight.”
Sophie nodded, more than willing, as she lead Raven towards the bench, slowing down on the way.
He hummed. "I don't believe that's possible, darling."
She was grateful for the slowing, but didn't say anything about it.
“I know.” she admitted, smiling at the epithet. “I just don't like the idea of another hero beating you up.”
Sophie continued to slow down as they got closer to the bench before they were able to stop in front of it.
"It's already happened. It'll be fine." he replied.
Raven flopped down on the bench, panting a bit. "Jesus." she laughed faintly, running her hands through her hair. She was sweating already.
“I know it has and I know, from experience, that you can handle yourself in a fight.” she chuckled. “But I still don't like the idea of it happening again.”
“You ok?” Sophie asked, her own breathing a little heavy as she took a seat next to her.
He laughed faintly, kissing her cheek. "Yeah."
She looked over at Sophie. "Mhm. But, ah, might not run a ton on the way back. I don't have that kind of stamina."
She hummed softly, curling up next to him.
“That’s ok. I’ll pace myself better on the way back.” Sophie assured.
He kept holding onto her.
"It's fine! You're used to this, I'm not. No big deal."
“Doesn’t change my mind on that. Even though I know it's just wishful thinking.” she smiled softly, kissing his cheek.
“Still… I don't want to leave you behind.” Sophie shrugged, brushing back a strand of Raven’s hair.
"Yeah. It's alright, though."
She smiled a little bit. "I'll be okay."
“Maybe it would help if you laid off some of your threats.” she teased, not really expecting him to take her advice.
Sophie nodded, letting herself relax a little while Raven caught her breath.
He stuck his tongue out. "What if I don't want to do that?"
Raven gave her a quick, faint smile.
She chuckled, shrugging a little. “Just a suggestion, sweetie.”
Sophie smiled back, letting her head roll back. It almost looked like she could have been sunbathing.
He laughed a little. "Mhm."
She watched Sophie quietly, still breathing.
She smiled sweetly at him and kissed his cheek.
Sophie let out a soft, contented sigh as she closed her eyes for a moment.
He returned the kiss, smiling a little.
She was still taking deep breaths; it wasn't like she was out of shape, it was just that her muscles were from work-outs, not running.
She hummed softly, happily, and kissed him again.
Sophie didn't just run, of course, but she wasn't overly muscled either. She had taken some gymnastics classes when she was younger and did her best to stick with some of those exercises.
He returned the kisses with a soft smile, arms wrapped around her.
She closed her eyes, sighing very faintly.
She giggled a little and nuzzled against him.
Sophie cracked open her eyes and smirked at Raven.
He smiled, still kissing her.
She didn't open her eyes, just sat still.
She smiled and happily kissed him back.
Sophie's smile grew at the sight, stretching her arms out… before placing her arm behind Raven’s shoulders.
