mdjsghbdkfjhgdks so. hedge fund is like, they borrow (not buy, borrow, for a fee) for instance, like…1000 10 dollar stocks. now, most people buy stocks, they want the stock market to go up, right? well, the hedge fund people want the stock market to drop, because then they sell those stocks and make a bunch of money all at once, even though it's less than those stocks are actually worth. they have ways to drive the market down, whch means all the rest of us normal people are fucked, because when our stocks drop we don't profit. well, they (hedge fund ppl) started doing that to GameStop's shares, and Reddittors all got together and started buying shares to stop the hedge fund people, and the GameStop shares skyrocketed by 2000%. the hedge fund people are furious. wall street is in an uproar
