Ooh okay. I just wanted to ask? But yeah I definitely get that it's not respectful, my bad
oh seriously man don't worry about it! you didn't do anything wrong– but there are some people who take it too far; call her a 'bisexual icon' and all that.
That sort of thing is super weird in general, like it's good to know about historical LGBTQ people and all but I don't like it when people are like "omg the original Bicon" and stuff, especially when we don't even know if that's how they'd identify. And it's especially weird to say that about a teenage girl who died in the Holocaust, like that should not be your takeaway from reading her diary.
Ooh definitely yeah. Like it's one thing to acknowledge it and be like "yeah she might have been, she wrote about it", but the takeaway should not be "bicon!!" The takeaway should be "holocaust bad" (to put it in oversimplified terms). And it's the same with any historical figure. You cannot boil them down to just their sexuality, especially if their sexuality is not known for certain. But even if it is, you should not just boil historical figures down to "bisexual icon" or whatever. It's just Bad in general
oh my god that book killed me it's so good

I need you to shame me into doing my psych homework
I wanna read They Both Die at the End. Just to see if I’m sad. Probs will be.
I cried for way too long. Read it.
On hold now.
I don't really get sad or even shaken when reading tbh, the only things that have ~fucked me up~ have been
Dang y'all are really out here making Dom and I accidentally start a book club ksahdjfg

Do I even need to mention the shame it’ll bring to your family’s cow?
Looking for Alaska! Gotta do that.

Got Poppy War bc why not.

The John Green book?
Yeah. I’m on a library craze and why do people even bother doing drugs.

Ah nice! The only John Green book I've read was TFioS, and I disliked it so. Good luck
I thought it was alright. Not amazing though.

Hnng it's just that they don't sound like teens, they sound like highly educated middle aged men
The tone that was best show in the first two pages was just so amazing though.
So what other books should I put on hold?
Hank Green deserves what John has tbfh. I like Hank much better

I'm debating whether or not to tell to you to read More Happy Than Not. It feels like something you might like, but I can also see you being upset about the world building or something
honestly looking for alaska wasn't bad, when i read it i definitely thought it was better than tfios. it's got some great commentary on women being viewed certain ways by men who want to date/have sex with them, and about how guys perpetuate the not like other girls trope
wilder girls didn't fuck me up that bad, it was more just as i was reading it i was like 'bro icky' about certain things. the hungers games as a whole had some harsh shit tho
Can’t get Loveless :(

Quite possibly. I greatly .edu the wasted opportunity in Mandalorian ep 4.

i went to recommend two books and realized they both featured very gay mcs, but cemetery boys is a nice comfort read for me because it's not too dramatic or fancily written, and i love the characters(cried a lot at the end even tho i saw the twist coming and knew i had no reason to cry). wilder girls is just so great and super surreal. the six of crows duology has great world building(which is more expanded upon in the grisha trilogy) and great characters and if you like heist movies it's perfect
oh yeah did anyone else read the kiss of deception and the following series? i vibed with that shit, but it took me years to remember what it was called
Yeah I don’t bring Gay Books into my parents house. Idek if I would on my own. Who knows. I don’t. But maybe as long as it wasn’t a romance.
Thoughts about Leigh Bardugo? Heard was good worldbuilding?

I didn't get very far in the first book. I should try to read it again
