Jade nodded and turned to a nearby game. “I’ve probably already said this but thank you, again, for sharing this place with me.” she said as she put a couple of tokens in the machine.
Jade nodded and turned to a nearby game. “I’ve probably already said this but thank you, again, for sharing this place with me.” she said as she put a couple of tokens in the machine.
Max smiled. "Yeah, of course." He said softly. "I'm glad you're having fun."
“I am. Really.” she smiled at him. “Hey… Can I ask you something? Something kinda personal?”
He looked over at her. "Mm…yeah, you can." He said slowly.
"How or when did you know… you were in love with Alex?" she asked softly, her face a bright shade of pink.
Max blinked. "Oh. Uhm…" He hesitated, thinking for a long moment. "I'm not sure that I can…name a specific time. I just…I just knew, I guess."
Jade nodded, understanding that. “Was it easy to know?” she asked.
"Mm…yes and no. I questioned it for a long time, because I wasn't sure, but…I don't know." He laughed faintly. "Sorry."
"No, it's ok." she assured him. "It's just… I was just wondering. Sorry if I was interrogating you." she apologized as her character lost a heart in the game she was playing.
"It's fine, don't worry about it." He said with a smile.
Jade smiled softly at his assurance, though she did feel a little embarrassed that she might have said a little too much about her… situation.
He looked over at Alex quietly, smiling faintly.
Jade glanced over and smiled a little more when she saw the look Max was giving his partner.
It seemed Max had forgotten, for a moment, that she was there, because he was just taking some time to watch the man he has married. There was a soft look in the lawyer's eyes and a little smile on his face, before he seemed to remember she was there and shook himself, blinking and glancing over at her again.
Jade smiled knowingly at him. “Go on. I'll be fine.” she said, gesturing for him to join Alex. “You two are really lucky to have each other.”
Max gave a faint, embarrassed smile. "Right. Uhm. Sorry." He said, but then went over to Alex.
“Don’t be sorry. I don't mind.” she assured him as he walked away.
Max leaned his chin on his husband's shoulder, speaking quietly to him as Alex played on the console.
Jade smiled at the cute scene before turning back to her game, giving the couple some privacy.
Killian was still playing his own game.
Jade glanced over at Killian and smiled softly, feeling her face warm.
Killian glanced over at her for a moment, then away again.
Jade blushed when he caught her stare and quickly looked away.
He smiled lightly before returning to his game.
Jade glanced back at him one more time before finishing her game.
Killian was still playing, brows furrowed faintly in concentration.
Jade smiled softly again at him and walked in his direction.
Killian kept playing, not speaking, or noticing her.
Jade watched quietly for a moment before moving on so she wasn't overbearing or making him uncomfortable.
Killian finished his game and moved to another console.
