Jade looked around at the different games in the room. “Wow! I can see why you like this place.” she smiled.
Jade looked around at the different games in the room. “Wow! I can see why you like this place.” she smiled.
"Yeah, it's great."
Jade smiled and took a couple of tokens before walking over towards the ski ball machine.
Killian followed her, putting his tokens into a different machine nearby. Max and Alex went to various machines in the room, smiling a little as they did.
Even though Jade’s area of expertise was computers and electronics, the ski ball game didn't really present much of a challenge for her. It was simple physics. But she knew how suspicious it would be for her to get too high of a score, so she botched a couple throws with a smile on her face since she was having fun.
Killian glanced over at her with a smile. "Having fun?" he asked.
“I am.” Jade smiled back. “I honestly haven't been to an arcade in a few years.”
Killian nodded a little. "Me either. It's…nice."
“Yes, it is.” she agreed softly before throwing another ball. “Feels normal, doesn't it?”
He nodded again. "It does." He agreed.
She smiled a little before looking over at him. “Hey, quick question… have you ever introduced anyone to your cousin and his husband before?” she asked out of innocent curiosity.
"What do you mean?" He asked, looking over at her.
She shrugged. “Just if they met any of your friends before me or if this just happened to be a coincidental occurrence.” she clarified.
"Oh. Uhm…" He thought about it for a moment. "I don't know. They've met friends before, but not…I don't know. It was different."
She nodded briefly since that answered her question well enough. “Not from our line of work.” she suggested, believing that they were each other's first in that department.
"Yeah, exactly." He laughed softly.
She laughed lightly with him and threw another ball up the slick ramp.
He kept playing his own game, smiling a little.
She smiled softly as the machine spat out her tickets, glancing over at Killian briefly.
Killian smiled at her happily.
Jade took her tickets and walked over to him, watching as he played his game.
He kept playing, concentrating on it.
"Thank you, by the way." she told him sincerely. "For… trusting me enough to let me come with you to met them."
He smiled a little. "Yeah. I mean…you won't hurt them, no matter what I do. I know that. I know you."
“I guess you do.” she nodded. “After all, my job is to protect. But I'm still glad that you trust me.”
He nodded a little bit. "Yeah."
She smiled softly and lightly kissed his cheek.
He smiled again.
She smiled back before glancing at Max and Alex.
Max and Alex were having a little friendly competition, laughing as they played a shooting game.
