Melissa weakly rubbed his shoulder, sighing softly. "Right…" She mumbled, kissing the top of his head. "There's nothing I can do?"

Lucas shrugged a bit. "No idea, Mel… I just don't wanna think about it right now…"

"Right, then we won't talk about it." Melissa nodded, kissing his forehead again. "You wanna go do something to distract yourself?"

Lucas nodded and sighed softly, moving a little closer to Melissa. "Yeah…"

“Umm… we could go up to my room? Or back in the fort?” Melissa offered in a soft tone. “Or go for a walk?”

"Anything is fine with me… maybe a walk, though?" Lucas nuzzled against Melissa a bit.

“Then that’s what we’ll do. We can grab Cody and walk to the park.” Melissa nodded, starting to get up. “C’mon we can go right now.”

Lucas nodded a bit and got up with Melissa, whistling for Cody so he could put his leash on. "Let's go…"

Melissa held his hand tightly after slipping her shoes on. She led Lucas outside, starting to walk towards the park. “You wanna go to the clearing?”

Lucas nodded a bit and held tighter to Melissa, wrapping Cody's leash around his other hand. "Mhmm…"

Melissa rested her head on his shoulder, keeping a hold on his hand. “I love you…”

"I love you too…" Lucas sighed softly, allowing Melissa to just lead him along. "So much…"

Melissa kissed his head, leading him towards the park. Leading him through the forest, she smiled a little as they walked. “You’re amazing, darling…”

"No you…" Lucas nuzzled into Melissa's cheek and sighed softly. "You're the best, Mel."

Melissa shook her head, wrapping her arm around his waist. “Mm… whatever you say, darling.” She hummed, kissing him.

Lucas smiled weakly and led Melissa into the clearing. "You are, Mel…"

Melissa sighed softly, coming up to the clearing. “Mm… sure thing, Lu.” She whispered, leading him up to the tree.

Lucas sat down beside the tree and looked around the clearing with a soft sigh. "I've missed this place…"

Melissa gave him a gentle look, sitting down and wrapping her arms around him. “Mm, we’ll have to come here after school more often.”

Lucas nodded a bit and leaned into Melissa, closing his eyes to try and allow himself to relax.

Melissa sighed softly, resting her chin on his head. “Do you want me to be quiet or keep talking? I don’t care either way.”

"Mm… maybe we can just be quiet for a little." Lucas kissed Melissa softly and huddled closer.

Melissa nodded, falling silent with his request. Nuzzling up against him, she gently played with his hair.

Lucas, after a while, slowly began to relax. His breathing grew easier and he laced his fingers with Melissa's.

Melissa smiled softly, holding onto his hand tightly. She nuzzled against him, growing steadily more affectionate. "You doing better?"

"A little, yeah…" Lucas hummed softly to himself. "Sorry for getting so frazzled about all that, Mel…"

"You're alright. It's nothing to apologize about, darling." Melissa whispered, resting her head on his shoulder.

"I'm just stressed and tired and… y'know." Lucas kissed Melissa gently.

"Yeah, I do… I have notes— tons of them actually, that you can use." Melissa whispered, pulling him closer.

"Thanks, Melissa… I love you…" Lucas sighed softly. "Hopefully that'll be helpful."
