Melissa nodded, nuzzling up closer to him. “Yeah, but we’ll be walking around. So we should be alright.” She hummed a little, kissing his cheek.
Melissa nodded, nuzzling up closer to him. “Yeah, but we’ll be walking around. So we should be alright.” She hummed a little, kissing his cheek.
"Hopefully. I do get cold pretty easily." Lucas returned the kiss and nuzzled against Melissa's cheek a bit.
Melissa smiled a little more, wrapping both of her arms around his waist. "I can snuggle up against you if you get cold."
Lucas smiled softly as he kissed Melissa again. "Thanks, darling. I appreciate it~"
Melissa giggled, burying her face in his shoulder as they walked. "Mmm, I'm happy to do it."
"Mm~…" Lucas followed Melissa until they reached their destination and looked around with a bright smile.
Lights were strung up above them as they stood on the boardwalk, running along the railing. Though as it was in the middle of the afternoon, they weren't lighting anything up. It was currently too busy, leaving a mostly relaxed atmosphere. Melissa smiled just as brightly as him, eagerly pulling him along down the wooden planks. "I think food is down this way."
"Alrighty!" Lucas followed Melissa down to where she was talking about. "Mmm… it smells great down here."
Melissa nodded, face lighting up as she sucked in a deep breath. "I think funnel cakes are right there," She hummed, pointing to the stand where a few people were waiting in line.
"Alrighty, let's get some then!" Lucas got into the line with Melissa and hummed softly to himself.
Melissa eagerly followed besides him, holding onto his hand tightly. “I can pay, I've got money on me.” She hummed softly, swinging their arms back and forth.
"So do I, Mel… and it's your birthday. You don't gotta pay." Lucas pulled his wallet out of his pocket.
"But- Lucas, come on," Melissa insisted, putting a hand on top of his. "I don't want you to have to pay for me."
"Nah ah, you know that you wouldn't let me pay on my birthday. I'm not letting you pay on yours. Now, what do you want?"
Melissa groaned, shoulder slumping some. She gave a slight pout as she glanced up at the stand. "Isn't there only one kind of funnel cake?"
"Hmm. Looks like it. We can share one if you'd like or we could get two?" Lucas suggested, shrugging a bit.
"I'm not really all that hungry, but if you want your own, go ahead." Melissa told him softly, taking one of his hands to hold onto.
"We can share one, then." Lucas smiled gently and kissed Melissa's cheek as he stepped up to order.
Melissa stayed close-by as he ordered, pulling him aside to wait for it to be made. "Mm… thank you…"
"No problem, Mel. I'm gonna try to make your birthday a good one." Lucas smiled softly as he hugged her.
Melissa smiles in return, burying her face in his shoulder. “I love you~” She grinned, staying close.
"I love you too, darling~…" Lucas rubbed Melissa's back a bit before kissing her. "I think our funnel cake is almost done."
Melissa nodded, pulling back with a soft sigh. “Mm, where do we want to sit? Once we get it, I mean.” She asked quietly, a soft look on her face.
"Anywhere your heart desires, darling. Within reason. Preferably somewhere nearby." Lucas laughed softly.
Melissa laughed, kissing his cheek. “Mm, guess I won’t go to Canada yet.” She joked, nuzzling against his cheek.
"Yeah, please don't… I'd miss you horribly." Lucas looked up when his name was called and went to go get the funnel cake.
Once he got it, she pulled him over to one of the outdoor tables, sitting down across from him. “You didn’t have any objections when you were drawing the other day.” Melissa hummed, snickering just a little.
"Huh?" Lucas looked up at Melissa, obviously confused as he started eating. "What do you mean?" He asked.
“Mm, I was talking to you the other day, and you clearly weren’t paying attention.” Melissa hummed, smiling still as she reached to eat some as well. “I said I was going to move to Canada. You actually agreed, I’m pretty sure.”
Lucas flushed a bit and looked away sheepishly. "You know I can't focus on other things when I'm drawing… I don't want you to move to Canada!"
