“Mm… well, I’m not either, but I’m sure I could attempt to teach you something…” Melissa mumbled, grabbing a pot. “How about pasta or something for lunch?”
“Mm… well, I’m not either, but I’m sure I could attempt to teach you something…” Melissa mumbled, grabbing a pot. “How about pasta or something for lunch?”
"Sure, Mel. Sounds good to me." Lucas got to his feet and headed over to Melissa's side.
Melissa glanced over to him as she filled a pot with water. “Whatcha doing?” She asked softly, setting the pot on the stove.
"Watching you make pasta so I know how to do it. I thought that was the plan?" Lucas asked curiously.
“Oh, right.” Melissa nodded, pulling salt from the cabinet after starting to heat the stove. “I love you…”
"I love you too, Mel… so much." Lucas gently kissed Melissa's cheek and hummed happily.
Melissa stepped back to lean against him, pulling his arms around her waist. “Mm… you’re wonderful, babe.”
"Glad you think so." Lucas held onto Melissa while he watched her make pasta, seeming pretty content for the moment.
Melissa stayed leaning up against him, humming softly. After kissing him, she leaned forward to continue making lunch.
Lucas watched quietly, keeping his head on Melissa's shoulder for the time being and his arms around her waist.
With their fingers interlocked, she gave his hand a gentle squeeze. "How much work did you get done?"
"Mm… some. Still got a decent amount left, but I'm getting through it." Lucas shrugged a bit.
"That's good… are my notes any help at all?" Melissa asked softly, dumping in the pasta when the water had started boiling.
"Mhmm." Lucas nodded a bit. "It's definitely a bit easier with them. Helps me actually figure out what's happening."
Melissa laughed softly, kissing his cheek. "Glad to hear that." She hummed as she nuzzled against him.
"Mhmm~…" Lucas gently kissed Melissa's cheek and held her tighter. "I love you~…" He murmured.
"Love you too, darling…" Melissa hummed, nosing his cheek. "You're wonderful~"
"No you~" Lucas snickered a bit and shied away at the nuzzling. "Is lunch almost done?" He asked. "Anything I can do?"
Melissa kept up a gentle smile, pulling him closer. "No, not really. We just gotta wait until it's done cooking. I mean, you could get the strainer out, but you don't have to."
"Mmmm… alright, Mel." Lucas released her so he could go and fetch the strainer, returning to Melissa soon after doing so.
Melissa smiles softly, kissing his cheek as she took it from him. “Thanks.” She hummed, setting it aside.
"No problem, Mel. Wanna keep doing homework after lunch or do something else for a bit?" He asked.
“I’m basically done with what I had. I just have to proof read a paper, and make any final changes.” Melissa shrugged, resting her head on his shoulder.
Lucas nodded a bit. "I've still got a fair bit of actual work to do, so I should probably do that…"
"Mm, but I don't want you to have to do work…" Melissa huffed, pulling him closer. "You've done a lot…"
"I know, Mel, but I still gotta do it…" Lucas murmured softly in return.
Melissa kept her arms around him, pouting some. Sighing weakly, she leaned up against him. "I'm really sorry, darling…"
"Don't be… it isn't your fault, Mel. I can handle it." Lucas smiled weakly and kissed Melissa's cheek.
"But it's not fair…" Melissa mumbled, hugging onto him. "You shouldn't have to do it, you were mentally unstable. You were literally in a mental hospital."
"I know it isn't fair, but I haven't got much of a choice, Mel… they're not gonna make a lot of exceptions for me."
