Serna was taking care of Ethal's human for her, unfortunately, Ethal sitting in the living room still and waiting. Zachary just barely managed to wrap his arms around Cas, holding the human so close to himself.
Cas hiccuped weakly and buried himself further, trembling violently. He was still clearly very upset and he refused to look at Ethal at all. He had several bad memories with her know.
Zachary was trembling as well, hand going to to Cas's head. Cas was more important now. Ethal- he had to get Cas away, before she tried anything else. He pulled his hands away momentarily to wheel them into their own room. He closed and locked the door, wrapping himself around Cas again.
"I… I'm so-orry…" He tucked Cas's head under his chin, holding him so close.
Cas sobbed quietly into Zachary's chest, clinging to the other for dear life. While he did definitely smell better, he wasn't at all happy about it.
Zachary held Cas tightly, hand tangled in his hair.
"I'm so sorry…" Zachary closed his eyes, refusing to let go.
Cas hiccuped a couple more times as he clung to Zachary, tightly gripping the fabric of the other's shirt. "W-Why did she— d-do that?" He whimpered.
Zachary opened his eyes again, grip tightening.
"I… S-she's a horrible… Horrible g-godess…" He trembled a bit.
Cas nodded weakly. "S-She's the one who made Halm claim me to begin with… she was strangling me…"
Zachary tensed a bit at that. He slowly reached up, motioning to his chest.
"She- she- I died, her." She's the one who killed him.
"She killed you…?" Cas asked in a weak whisper. "I… I hate her… she's an asshole and… and she's fat overstepping her boundaries…"
Zachary nodded slightly, silent. He kissed Cas's head gently, holding him so, so close.
"I just want her to leave…" Cas whispered shakily. "Why's she even here? Why won't she just go home?"
"L- human," Zachary said softly, unable to say the man's name currently. "Hur-rt him, Serna has to… to fix him." Zachary shook his head. It was cruel, to both the man and Serna.
Cas sighed. "She hurt him and then brought him here to get fixed up? That's sick… but not unexpected from someone like her."
Zachary nodded slightly, arms securely holding Cas to himself.
"I… I'm sorry I didn't help…" he looked away in shame.
Cas shrugged and huddled closer. "You were scared too… she killed you, after all. I can't really fault you."
Zachary nuzzled Cas gently, kissing his head.
"S-still… What if she had-" Zachary cut himself off, just holding Cas closer.
Cas sighed shakily. "Don't worry about it, Zachary… there's nothing we can do about it now anyway…"
Zachary fell silent, nodding a bit. He rubbed Cas's back lightly, keeping a close hold on him.
"Hopefully miss Serna will kick her out soon… I don't wanna go back out until she's gone." Cas whispered.
Zachary nodded. He wasn't going to open the door for anyone but Serna.
"She'll… She'll be gone soon…"
"Okay…" Cas sighed shakily and rubbed at his eyes. "U-Um… you're speaking really well, Zachary…" He whispered. "You're doing great…"
Zachary hadn't even noticed, too focused on Cas. He let out a soft, shaky sigh.
"Y-yeah… I just want you to know what I'm saying…" He kissed Cas's head lightly.
Cas nodded a bit. "Have you been practicing on your own a bit?" He asked. "I-I mean, we aren't really apart too much, but sometimes you get a bit of alone time…"
Zachary nodded back.
"Serna has been helping me." He wanted to keep Cas distracted from who was out in the living room.
"That's good… it's nice to be able to properly talking to you." Cas smiled weakly and pressed a couple of gentle kisses to Zachary's lips.
Zachary gently kissed back, a very faint smile on his lips.
"It's a lot easier now…" He held Cas close, nuzzling him with his nose.
"Mhmm…" Cas buried his face in Zachary's shoulder and sighed shakily. His hair was still pretty damp from the bath.
Zachary gently ran his fingers through Cas's hair, slowly pulling the moisture away from Cas. He kissed Cas's head lightly, don't his best to work quickly to dry Cas off completely.
Cas whimpered quietly and huddled closer to Zachary when he felt the water. "I-I don't like it, love…"
