"It's really not fair~" Melissa whined, continuing to kiss him with a little smile. "Mmm, but I mean, at least I get to see you at all."
"It's really not fair~" Melissa whined, continuing to kiss him with a little smile. "Mmm, but I mean, at least I get to see you at all."
"True… I really do enjoy being able to see you, Mel." Lucas tried his best to return the kisses and sighed softly.
"Mmm, and I you…" Melissa hummed, smiling softly. "I wish it was for longer, and more frequently, though."
"Yeah… I really hope I'll be out of here soon." Lucas sighed again and huddled a little closer.
"You don't think you'll be out before February, do you?" Melissa asked softly, keeping close.
"Mm… with any luck, I should definitely be out by then. Why?" Lucas asked.
Melissa nodded, her cheeks growing rosy when he asked. She buried her face into his shoulder once more. "Valentine's Day…" She mumbled, keeping her face hidden.
"Oh, right! Well, um… in the case that I'm not, I'd be happy for you to visit me. I really do hope to be out by then, though."
Melissa only nodded again, keeping her face hidden. Though after a couple of minutes she pulled back. "I really hope you're out… I don't think I can keep doing this for much longer."
Lucas sighed softly and looked away, feeling guilty. "I know, Mel, I… I know it's hard for you too, and I'm sorry…"
"You don't have to be sorry. You didn't exactly want to come here in the first place." Melissa pointed out, settling against him with a weak sigh.
Lucas nodded a bit and huddled closer to her. "And… and I can't exactly just leave… they won't let me."
Melissa nodded as well, sighing weakly. "I know… and I know you need this. It's just getting harder. But I'll be fine."
"What's getting harder in particular, Mel? I mean, I never used to live with you before or anything…"
"I know you didn't, but um… the whole mom thing had gotten increasing better when you were around. And um… school stuff." Melissa shrugged a little. "And then add in the fact I rarely get to see you, that's just hard by itself."
Lucas nodded weakly and sighed. "Yeah… I miss you too. And I'd like to come back and help. You know that I would, but… I can't."
"I know… I know… I don't even want you back to help me. Just having you home would make all the difference in the world." Melissa insisted in a soft tone.
"Y-Yeah… I know I'll be coming back at some point, but I honestly have no idea when that'll be."
"I can't help you there. I know almost nothing about your current situation." Melissa mumbled weakly, picking her gaze up to his face.
"Mm…" Lucas sighed softly and buried his face in Melissa's shoulder. "I just… all I can do is hope that I'll be back soon."
"Yeah… I really hope it's soon…" Melissa mumbled, resting her head against his. "I want you both back home."
Lucas nodded a bit. "Mm… yeah. It definitely helps to have Cody here with me. Otherwise I get really lonely…"
"I know… but I miss you and him." Melissa mumbled, looking down at her feet where Cody was. "He's already gotten so big…"
"Yeah… he'll be real big when he's older." Lucas smiled weakly. "He hasn't quite grown into his paws yet."
"I think he's super cute like that. It gives him more of a baby look." Melissa mumbled, going back and leaning up against him. "Mm… I kinda want to hold him…"
"Well, you can if you want. He's gotten pretty heavy." Lucas passed Cody to Melissa with a gentle smile.
Melissa's smile pulled up a bit more, holding the puppy close to herself. She struggled momentarily to hold onto him, but seemed to be alright. "I've missed my cuddle buddy… he started to come up and sleep with me."
"Mm… sorry, Mel." Lucas sighed softly and kissed Melissa's cheek. "He's been such a good boy while he's been here."
"That's good. I'm hoping it's been helping." Melissa hummed softly, started to run her fingers over Cody's soft fur.
"Yeah, it is… especially since he knows how to calm me down when I'm stressed and bring me my meds and stuff."
