Once he was inside, Jade closed the door and helped him over to the couch. ”What happened?” she asked in concern. She knew technically she was aiding a criminal but she didn't care so much about that as she did making sure Killian was ok.
"I…was doing what I usually do and some…hero came along." he replied, shifting a little bit as he sat down gingerly on the couch.
She nodded, honestly having expected that to be what happened. ”Can you take off your shirt?” she asked as she stood up to grab the first aid kit. It was the most that she would be able to do for him. ”Was it anyone we know?”
He nodded a little, wincing as he pulled off the shirt. "Mm– I don't think so."
She sighed in both relief and frustration. If it really was a new hero, then it wasn't one of her friends. I can always check the news later… She carefully sat next to him and visually assessed his wounds. ”Tell me where it hurts.”
"Mm…everywhere." he replied. His torso was covered in dark, mottled bruising.
”Anything broken?” she asked as she gently reached out to him with a small cotton ball that smelled like medical alcohol.
He shrugged. "I'm not sure."
She hummed softly and nodded as she lightly dabbed at some of the cuts. ”Hold still.”
He winced and hissed faintly, shifting.
”Sorry.” she said softly, setting the cotton down.
He swallowed softly. "It's fine."
She shook her head a little and lightly kissed his cheek. ”It’s clearly not fine. You look like you walked through a boxing match and barely escaped a T.K.O.”
"T.K.O?" He asked, unsure what that meant.
”A total knock out.” she explained with a soft chuckle.
"Well yes, darling, I know I am." His lips twitched in a faint smirk.
She couldn't help but laugh a little at that, shaking her head again. ”Oh, you… If you weren't in such bad shape, I’d smack you.”
He laughed again, sticking out his tongue at her. "Mm, I'm sure you would."
She rolled her eyes but smiled at him. ”Glad to see you’re well enough to keep your sense of humor.” she said, lightly placing her hands on one of the bruises on his chest to carefully check for any broken or cracked ribs.
He winced a little bit. "If I didn't have that, it would be a problem." He replied.
”It certainly would be.” she agreed, chuckling before giving him an apologetic look. ”I don't feel anything that's broken… Maybe a small fracture right here though.”
The most she would be able to do for those injuries would be to wrap some gauze to help keep the bone from being jostled too much. She sighed a little and continued to gently massage around and see if there was anything worse.
He winced a little bit, eyes flickering.
She made a few notes of where it seemed to hurt the most on him before reaching for the gauze.
He stayed still, chewing on his lip a little bit.
”Can you lift your arms out a little?” she asked so she could start with the bandage.
He did as she asked, quiet.
She smiled softly at him and carefully begun wrapping his ribs.
He winced a little, biting his lip faintly.
