"Well, if you need to, you can call me. I'll call you back as soon as I get a break." Melissa offered him, noting they were coming up to the school.
"Well, if you need to, you can call me. I'll call you back as soon as I get a break." Melissa offered him, noting they were coming up to the school.
"I will." Lucas looked up at the school, humming softly to himself. He was mostly walking normally by now, but it still hurt a bit for him.
Melissa kept quiet as they walked, letting out a soft sigh as they reached the door. "You'll sit with me at lunch, right?"
"Of course I will, Mel. See you soon~" Lucas kissed Melissa softly and headed off to his own classroom.
Melissa waved a little, before disappearing down the hall. Even though it felt like classes were dragging along, lunch managed to roll around. Melissa was already sitting in the cafeteria, keeping an eye out for Lucas.
Lucas came in pretty soon after Melissa and found her in the lunchroom, gently kissing her cheek when he sat down. "Morning, darling~…" He purred softly.
Melissa gave a light laugh, returning the soft kiss. "Hey, how are you doing?" She asked softly, starting to play with his hair when he was sitting.
"I'm pretty alright. How about you?" Lucas asked, keeping up his smile to mask his thoughts. His meds were screwing with his mind a bit, but he was still just assuming that he needed to get used to them and they'd be fine.
"Meh, tired. Math sucked, per-usual. But I'm alright." Melissa shrugged a little, resting her chin on her palm. She gave him a little smile in return, reaching over to take his hand. "You wanna grab lunch, or are you not hungry?"
"I'll go and grab myself something. Wouldn't want to pass out at practice again. I'll be back soon~" Lucas kissed Melissa again and left, returning a couple minutes later with food.
Melissa gave him a little smile before sipping from her water-bottle. "Mm, hey. Welcome back." She greeted, mostly jokingly at that.
"Thanks." Lucas smiled softly and started eating, humming softly to himself. "I love you, Mel~…"
Melissa watched him silently, her smile ghosting across her lips. "Love you too, love…" She whispered in response, growing quiet once more.
"You feeling okay?" Lucas gently turned Melissa's chin so she was looking at him. "Wouldn't want you to have to be upset for my sake or anything."
"Hmm?" Melissa hummed, taken by a little bit of surprise at his touch. "Oh, no, I'm alright. Just thinking, really. You didn't upset me."
"What're you thinking about?" Lucas asked gently, still holding onto Melissa to keep her looking at him.
"Nothing, really. Just this weekend, I guess." Melissa shrugged a little, keeping her eyes on him. "And how lucky I am to have you… but not much besides that."
Lucas smiled weakly and gave Melissa a gentle kiss on the lips. "I'm lucky to have you too, darling. Are you gonna eat anything?"
Melissa gave him a soft smile, leaning over and kissing him in return. "Mm… I'm really not hungry…" She mumbled softly, glancing at his tray of food.
"Mel… I wanna make sure you're eating. It's important to me that you're healthy." Lucas replied softly.
"But Lu…" Melissa whined softly, pouting. "I'm not hungry… I don't want to…"
"Please, Mel? For me?" Lucas kissed Melissa and gave her his best puppy dog eyes. "You don't have to eat much, but I'd feel better if you had something."
Melissa went to argue, but couldn't come up with anything further. With a heavy sigh, she dropped her gaze before nodding a little. "Alright… I-I guess I'll eat something…"
"Thank you~… what would you like, darling? You're welcome to anything I've got here or I can go and get you something different."
"I don't really care, maybe an apple? Do you have one?" Melissa asked softly, lifting her head.
"I do, and you're more than welcome to it." Lucas held an apple out to Melissa and kept eating his own food.
Melissa nodded a little, taking it and slowly eating it. "You want me to go get you a replacement?" She asked softly, when her mouth wasn't full.
"No, of course not. I've got plenty of food, Mel. I'm not gonna miss one apple." Lucas smiled, gently kissing Melissa's cheek.
Melissa gave a little smile in return. "Alright, if you're sure…" She mumbled, continuing to eat in silence.
"I'm sure." Lucas looked up when the bell rang and held tightly to Melissa's hand. "You ready to go, Mel?" He asked.
