Melissa attempted to push him away just a bit, pulling away from his kisses. "I can't believe you would think that of me. That doesn't sound like me at all."
Melissa attempted to push him away just a bit, pulling away from his kisses. "I can't believe you would think that of me. That doesn't sound like me at all."
"Don't pout, Mel…" Lucas whined, still holding tightly to Melissa's hand so she couldn't go too far away.
"But I like pouting. You end up giving me more kisses." Melissa told him, sticking her tongue out once again.
Lucas rolled his eyes, grinning as he showered Melissa in small kisses. "You know, if you want me to kiss you, you can always just ask."
Melissa giggled softly, scrunching her nose up a bit. "Mm… but I like this. You seem to know if I want kisses or not."
"Well, it's not too hard. You almost always want kisses." Lucas laughed, kissing her again and pulling her close.
"Mm, that's true. As long as I'm not mad at you, which hasn't actually ever happened, I'll probably want you to kiss me." Melissa hummed lightly, letting him pull her close.
"You'll have to let you know if you're mad at me, because I'm pretty oblivious sometimes. I might not know."
"Mm, that might be difficult. I don't like telling people when I'm mad." Melissa hummed lightly, kissing him a couple of times in return.
"But I'm a little bit stupid, love. I probably won't know what I've done wrong." Lucas returned the kisses.
"You're not stupid. I'll try my best to tell you, but if I'm actually mad at you, I'm not sure if I'll be able to hold to my word." Melissa told him softly, cupping his cheek to kiss him one last time.
Lucas nodded a bit, leaning into the kiss. "Alright… sounds fair. Let's keep going now, yeah?" He kept walking.
Melissa smiled lightly, still holding on tightly to his hand. "It looks like Cody is enjoying himself. I'm sure he'll be happy to go to the park."
"Yeah. He seems to really like walks." Lucas smiled as well as they continued in. "Big dogs tend to need more exercise."
“Mm, looks like we’re gonna have to set up a schedule, then.” Melissa said lightly, resting her head on his shoulder. “We didn’t do so great this week.”
"Yeah… I'll try to walk him at least once a day. He runs around in the backyard a lot, so he's still exercising at least."
"Mm, that's true. But I could always take him for a walk, while you're at practice. I could come home, and get him. We could meet up at the park." Melissa offered in a light tone.
"Sure, if you want to. I'm sure he'd like it." Lucas smiled gently and kissed Melissa's cheek again.
"Mm, I'm sure he would. I dunno if I'll do it every time, though." Melissa said with a smile, lifting her head when he kissed her.
"Mhmm… I can try to walk him after I come home from practice. I don't think I'll have time to do it in the morning."
"I doubt you will. I'd just assume we'll have to do it after school. We can trade on and off." Melissa hummed softly, pulling his hand up and kissing the back of it.
Lucas nodded a bit and smiled. "Sounds good to me, love. I think we're almost to school, by the way."
Melissa glanced around, and nodded at the familiar surroundings. "Mhmm. It should be right around the corner."
Lucas kept walking and headed over to the baseball field once they neared the school. He led Melissa behind it, where there was a bunch of overgrown grass.
Melissa bit into her lip, glancing down to Cody. "Is it a good idea to bring him into the grass?" She asked softly, coming up and starting to head into the grass.
"As long as we hold onto him, he should be okay." Lucas followed her in and started looking around for the baseball.
"Alright…" Melissa replied softly, keeping her eye on Cody as she knelt down and looked around.
Lucas rooted through the grass for a while, holding tightly to Cody's leash. After a few minutes, Cody popped his head out of the grass with the baseball in his mouth. "Mel! Cody found it!"
Melissa turned around, and smiled softly when Cody popped up. "Good boy, Cody!" She grinned, coming up to scratch his head. "Looks like he wants to be a baseball player like you, Lucas."
Lucas laughed a bit. "Takes after his dad, huh?" He took the ball from Cody and held it out to Melissa.
