"Mm, yeah. Probably a smart idea." Melissa smiled lightly, coming up and wrapping her arms around his waist.
"Mm, yeah. Probably a smart idea." Melissa smiled lightly, coming up and wrapping her arms around his waist.
Lucas kissed Melissa softly and held her close, resting his head on hers. He smiled lightly as well.
Melissa nuzzled up closer, sighing with content. "I love you… so much."
"Love you too, Mel." Lucas smiled gently, wrapping his arms around Melissa's waist. He looked up when the toaster dinged and got the toast out.
Melissa pouted a little, coming up and resting her chin on his shoulder. "Mm, why'd you leaveeeee?~"
"Because I don't want the toast to buuuuuurn~" Lucas kissed Melissa's cheek softly while he buttered the toast.
"But I don't want you to goooo… I like hugging you." Melissa mumbled, burying her face into his shoulder.
Lucas smiled a bit as he continued. "We can hug again once I'm done with this, alright?" He asked.
"Mm… fine." Melissa mumbled as she stepped back to give him some space. Sitting down on the floor, she started petting Cody's fur in silence.
Once Lucas was done, he brought the toast over to the table and held his hand out to Melissa to help her up.
After giving Cody one last pat on the head, she reached out for his hand. "Thanks, love." Melissa hummed lightly, standing on her toes to kiss his cheek.
"No problem, Mel." Lucas returned the kiss and sat down at the table to eat his toast.
Melissa smiled lightly, and sat down as well. "Mm, are we still planning on going to the park? We've been at school a lot, I think we owe Cody a trip."
"Yeah, we can do that after the ice cream and baseball and stuff. How's that sound, love?" Lucas asked.
“It’s sounds lovely. Then again, anything with you would be lovely.” Melissa laughed softly, starting to eat slowly.
Lucas flushed lightly and smiled as he took a bite of his toast. "R-Right… would you want to go find the baseball after this or should we wait?"
Melissa smiled in return, glancing down at Cody whining by her feet. "I'd be alright with going. I have to go get dressed and everything, but it shouldn't take long."
Lucas nodded. "I should probably change too. This is too thick to walk around in when it's so hot outside."
"Mhmm. I really wish it would cool down, it's suppose to be fall time. Not summer." Melissa laughed softly, brushing her hands off before reaching down to pet Cody.
"Yeah…" Lucas sighed softly. "Hopefully it'll cool down soon. Practicing in the heat is really unpleasant."
"I bet. Maybe I'll have to go and get you guys a treat from the store." Melissa hummed thoughtfully, sitting up and starting to clear the plates.
Lucas smiled gently. "They'd probably appreciate it. The guys like food a lot." He laughed. "Pretty typical of teenage guys, from what I can tell. Most of them are bigger than me. They eat a ton."
Melissa laughed softly, and nodded. "Mhmm, give it a couple months and you'll probably more like them than you want to admit." She hummed, pecking his cheek before walking up to the sink.
"That's the goal, I think. I'm pretty underweight at the moment. That probably contributes to me collapsing when I overexert myself."
"That's true. But if you keep eating regularly, you should be alright." Melissa hummed lightly, starting to wash the dishes. "Also, I really wish you would try and take it kind of easy for awhile. I know you have to work hard, but not to the extent you can get hurt."
Lucas smiled weakly. "I know… we won't have another game for a little bit. I'll try to take it easier at practices."
Melissa glanced over to him, setting the plates in the dishwasher with a light smile. "Thank you… I really just want you to be okay."
"I know, Mel. I don't blame you for worrying. I've passed out at practice so much that I'd be surprised if you weren't, honestly."
(I've been trying to think of a new title for this, but I can't. Any suggestions?)
"In all honesty, I might be upset if that was happening to me, and you didn't care." Melissa said softly, patting her hands dry.
(I have no idea lol)
"If it was happening to you, I'd be terribly worried." Lucas laughed. "I don't know if I could sleep thinking about it."
