"Mm, no problem…" Melissa hummed softly, giving a sweet smile. "You did an awesome job tonight, by the way."
"Mm, no problem…" Melissa hummed softly, giving a sweet smile. "You did an awesome job tonight, by the way."
"Thanks…" Lucas smiled as well, keeping his eyes closed. "Do we have any plans for tomorrow other than the ice cream?"
"Ice cream, and I wanted to go look for your baseball. But besides that, no plans." Melissa hummed softly, glancing over to Cody. "We could always go back to the park with Cody, if you want something to do."
"Mm… sounds good to me, darling." Lucas rubbed Cody's ears gently and yawned again, struggling to stay awake.
"Then we'll do that." Melissa said lightly, leaning down and kissing his forehead. "I'm gonna get up, so I can shower and get ready for bed."
"Alright… g'night, love…" Lucas gently returned the kiss and huddled up on the couch as soon as Melissa got up.
"Sleep well, Lucas." Melissa told him softly, petting him a few times before starting off up the stairs.
Lucas drifted off to sleep soon after Melissa went upstairs, Cody still laying on his chest. He seemed to be pretty comfortable.
(Time skip to tomorrow?)
(Yuppp! I’ll get something up in just a minute.)
(Alrighty ^^)
(Oof, that was more than just a minute…)
Melissa groaned a bit, when she rolled out of bed the next morning. She had made the mistake of staying up way later than she should have, but couldn't go back to sleep after waking up to the sound of her alarm. "Why oh why did I want to get up earlier, last night?" She muttered to herself, pulling her hair up out of her face before starting down stairs.
(Lmao it's fine)
Lucas was still asleep with Cody when Melissa came downstairs, but Cody got up to go greet her, whining happily. Lucas yawned and huddled into the blankets more.
Melissa bent over, and scooped Cody up. Even in her grumpy tired state, she managed a smile when the puppy greeted her. "Mm, morning to you to. I'm assuming you want breakfast, right?" She asked lightly, scratching under his chin before coming up to the couch. Sitting on the edge of it, she kept Cody close as she reached out to pet Lucas as well.
Lucas leaned into Melissa's hand in his sleep, smiling gently. Cody licked Melissa's cheeks, his tail wagging in excitement when she mentioned food.
"Lu?" Melissa asked softly, trying to keep Cody away from her face. "Alright, alright. I get it, you want breakfast. I'll get it for you in a minute." She whispered a bit, setting the puppy down on the floor. "Hey, Lu. You should probably get up."
"Mm…" Lucas stirred a bit and looked up at Melissa. "…Did you say something, Mel?" He asked, yawning a bit and sitting up.
"Just that you should probably wake up. How'd you sleep?" Melissa asked lightly, yawning when he did. She reached out and started to try and fix his fluffy mess to the best of her ability.
"Pretty good…" Lucas leaned into Melissa's hand and closed his eyes, just allowing her to toy with his hair as she pleased. "You?"
"Mm, fine, I guess. I stayed up late, so I'm still pretty tired." Melissa hummed softly, scooting closer to kiss his forehead. "But besides that, I slept good."
Lucas nodded a bit and returned the kiss. "Mm… you can go back to sleep longer if you want. We're in no rush today."
"I know, but I don't know if I can back to sleep now. I'm already up, and it seems silly to go back." Melissa hummed lightly, standing up from her spot and stretching out.
"I guess so." Lucas shrugged and yawned again, running his fingers through his hair. "Shall we make breakfast then, darling?"
"Mm, probably should. Any suggestions what we should eat?" Melissa asked softly, smiling down at Cody pawing at her leg.
"I don't really care. Just toast or something is fine with me." Lucas got to his feet and stepped over the barrier to head over to Melissa.
Melissa nodded, pulling him into a hug once he was over the barrier. "M'kay… that's what we'll do, then. I don't have any better ideas."
"Sounds good to me." Lucas returned the hug and followed Melissa into the kitchen, grabbing some bread once he was there.
Melissa smiled softly, pulling a bowl out of the counter to feed Cody. "I'm assuming you've got that handled?" She asked lightly, kneeling down when Cody ran up to her.
"Mhmm." Lucas put the toast into the toaster and grabbed some butter out of the fridge for when it was done.
"Alright, thank you." Melissa chirped after getting Cody's breakfast and standing back up. "When are we planning on going out, today?"
"Whenever you want, Mel, but ice cream probably makes the most sense after lunch." Lucas yawned a bit.
